Rachaad White Walks While Talking Running

April 5th, 2025

Running style explained.

Frank the Tank decided to take a walk. With Rachaad White.

For those unaware, Frank the Tank is one of the many popular Barstool Sports personalities. He sometimes does walk-and-talk features with celebrities.

It appeared Frank the Tank came to Florida to pull this off because it’s still too cold up in Gotham to wear shorts.

It was a cool morning in Tampa Bay, but for a New Yorker, it must have felt like summer. There, Frank the Tank asked White about his running style. White admitted that, yeah, he’s a patient runner and some of his favorite plays are power runs behind pulling Bucs’ offensive linemen.

“I really can’t tell you,” White said when Frank the Tank asked him how he developed his Le’Veon Bell-like patience. “I’ve just been running the ball like that my whole life, you know?

“And it’s a different type of style of running the ball, and that’s the thing. Sometimes, you know, some people like it, and some people don’t. The thing about me, I just try to utilize my vision as much as I can. Sometimes I require patience. Sometimes that doesn’t.

“And for me, just being a taller, being a bigger back, I try to make sure I could be able to slither. And sometimes you got to get skinny. So I say that’s the biggest thing, man.”

And of course, White noted he loves when the big uglies pull and create a convoy for him.

“So, when it comes to me of course, I love plays like power, stuff like that,” White said. “I like guys, pulling in front of me. That’s where I can utilize my patience more.”

As White noted, not everyone likes his Bell-like pitter-patter of feet waiting for a hole to open. That’s the smart approach sometimes, White said, and there are plays where being patient isn’t wise.

“Just understanding, like some plays requires me to use my patience and be me,” White said. “And some plays require me to just go.”

It’s a contract year for White, which means this could be his last year in Tampa. Unless something happens to Bucky Irving — heaven forbid — White will be a No. 2 back.

In White’s two years as a No. 1 back, the Bucs were the worst rushing team in the league. Joe isn’t sure what sort of market there is for that.

White’s a solid player, but Joe thinks he is a superior receiving back. Maybe White may want to go where he could be utilized more in a passing offense?

The best way to get paid in the NFL is to produce on a winning team. Hopefully, that continues for White this fall.

Obviously Bucky is #1. Sean Tucker should be #2 as he is a much better runner than White. White should only be exclusively used as a blocker or catching in the backfield.

  2. TBBucFan Says:

If White can see himself as a receiving and/or 3rd down back, he’s going to have a very productive career. Preferably with the Bucs. I love Tucker but again, there must be something missing in his all ‘round game which limits his time on the field.
Gotta say this…. Rachaad, is NOT Bell. Maybe on the receiving side but prime LB was amazing coming out of the backfield. White is a slow motion replay with everyone else at full speed. Something just isn’t right.
If the Bucs can find the right backup magic between White and Tucker, I see Bucky having a fantastic career as #1 and breaking some Bucs records.

  3. SB~LV Says:

Perfect description of his evolution into a effective and consistent NFL running back.

  4. Baking with Grizz Says:

If Tucker shows improvement on his blocking skills this might be White’s last year hear.

  5. Hodad Says:

He’s not nearly as good as Bucky falling his blockers, just the opposite. That’s been the knock on him all along. Use him up this year, then don’t extent him. Draft another back next year, letting White walk. Younger cheaper, probably better. Whites not the talent at RB that you give money to.

  6. Beeej Says:

He got his average up to 4.3 ypc last year, but that trails Bucky and Tucker by a mile. I’d really like to see what Tucker can do as an every-down back

  7. JimBobBuc Says:

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Licht pick up a back as a UDFA like he did with Tucker.

  8. BucsFanSince1996 Says:

If we can afford to keep all 3 RBs, I would prefer that. White IS the best when it comes to pass-blocking, and his 4.3 YPC last season was a big improvement.
We need as much depth at the skill positions as possible if we’re going to be a contender. We don’t know which position will get hit with injuries. Last season our top 3 WRs were all out at the same time! If two of our top RBs are ever out in a game, we’ll wish that we had kept 3.

  9. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

    His running style sucks!

He’s good when he catches pasees, but not as good as Bucky or Tucker at running or running after the catch.

His running style seems like he’s running scared and with his eyes closed.

Hard pass on him getting any carries at all!

Most of those are wasted plays.

  10. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

To clarify, I like White as a person, and as a 3rd-string RB.

    That is all.

  11. NDog is an idiot Says:

Free Tucker! Tucker looks like Omarion Hampton, the soon to be 1st round draft pick out of UNIVERSITY of North Carolina

  12. Aqualung Says:

El Serpiente severely underutilized White in the passing game. Hopefull Griz corrects that.

  13. Vanessa Anne Says:

I still say we keep Rachaad.

Bucky is clearly our No. 1 RB.

Rachaad has definite talent as a backfield receiver. He just needs to work on finding the holes when he’s running up the middle.

It’s also important to factor in the O-Line we had in 2022 and 2023. Much different than the O-Line we had last year.

I don’t think it’s fair to put his 2022/23 performance all on him.

I also firmly believe that Sean will blossom into an excellent RB if he’s given a legitimate amount of game-time snaps. He’s already shown signs of it.

We have a three-headed monster at RB. We’re lucky. Most teams don’t.

We just need Josh Grizzard to scheme up plays that take advantage of it.

  14. Defense Rules Says:

Two-back sets with Bucky & Rachaad seemed like they were quite effective when used last year.

  15. Davyboy Says:

I don’t know…. Sean Tucker is an awful good back. Awful good

  16. unbelievable Says:

The two-back sets with Bucky and Rachaad were some of our most effective plays last year.

Not to mention, in the last 4 games including the playoff loss, we virtually stopped using White for anything except pass blocking, and what were the results?

Our offense was stuck in the mud and struggling in 3 of those 4 games. And we lost 2 of those 4 games. White makes the offense better, yet some of you dingleberries still want to run him out of town.

I’m convinced that some of those ‘dinguses’ don’t even watch the games and only react to what they hear or read.

We had some breakout plays with white and Irving in the backfield together. We should see that continue and white could be a great diversion and screen back. He’s gonna have a decent year. I keep thinking back to the play where Baker was holding off Bosa on fourth down to find White with an incredible pass and catch for a first down. Best play I’ve ever seen by a QB wearing pewter and red. Helluva catch by White. Dudes got massive talent just not at running the ball
