Peter Schrager Predicts A Bucs Shocker

April 23rd, 2025

Analyst believes Bucs’ pick is in!

There are two big reasons Joe puts a lot of stock into what Peter Schrager has to say about the Bucs.

The first is, Joe knows exactly who Schrager talks to — guys with offices at One Buc Palace.

The other reason is Schrager takes his craft seriously.

Schrager, who bolted to BSPN from the NFL Network because of how NFL suits now shabbily treat their house organ, does one mock and one mock only, the way God intended (unless one is a troll). And this morning Schrager released his 2025 mock.

If this comes true, it will set off a tsunami-like reaction in the Tampa Bay Area. Schrager believes the Bucs will go offense. And their target is Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan.

(Joe predicted this Schrager call yesterday.)

The all-world athlete would be the perfect addition to a wide receiver room with a mix of veterans and young players. The Bucs love Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan is coming off a solid rookie year. McMillan would be the perfect student for the veterans to teach.

The only issue Joe has with this is questions have arisen about McMillan’s football passion and work ethic.

That’s why Joe is more interested in Emeka Egbuka of Ohio State. There are zero questions about his hustle and passion for the game. And if Chris Godwin cannot go, the Bucs then have his clone in Egbuka.

McMillan may have otherworldly talents. But he just doesn’t seem like a Jason Licht-kinda guy.

  1. Henry Says:

DT or trade back unless baby Gronk is sitting there.

  2. Fred McNeil Says:

Clear as mud, but it covers the ground. I honestly don’t think anybody knows how this draft will unfold.

  3. Easy The Great Says:

I would be OK with this had JALEN McMillan not emerged at the end of the season like he did.

  4. Fred McNeil Says:

All I know is I’m gonna make like Licht and have a feast. Guac, salsa, bean dip…beer…can’t forget the beer.

  5. HC Grover Says:

    Nope

  6. MadMax Says:

Jayden Higgins in the 2nd please….

  7. SB~LV Says:

    LB3 @19

  8. Truth be Told Says:

Pass Defense needs to improve is priority #1. Go Bucs!!

  9. Mike Says:

One thing for sure, we have no idea how the draft is going to go.

  10. Bobby M. Says:

We’ve been very lucky to have two elite WRs that weren’t divas. I’d say the Bucs prefer to keep it that way. If anything we should snag an elite TE prospect, that’s the ultimate chess piece for Baker. Get a guy that we can disguise the run or pass with. Otton is an excellent #2….but he’s not the chess piece like we had with Gronk.

  11. Alonza Says:

What if the Bucs shocked the world and traded up to #2 or #3 to take Travis Hunter? Getting a CB and a WR…unconventional, but shocking and immediately adds some juice to the team and this season’s Super Bowl aspirations.

  12. Jeffrey Becker Says:

alonza, that would take multiple firsts

  13. Josh Says:

My biggest concern is that he may not live and breathe football, as some other posters have pointed out. Honestly, I had him ranked as my WR1 with no close second—until that detail came to light. He’s that good. He catches everything thrown his way, runs crisp routes, and wins jump balls. He’s legit and has the tools to perform at the highest level in every aspect of the game.

That said, if he’s still available at pick 19, I believe you should demand a king’s ransom from teams like the Chargers, Packers, or especially the Chiefs. I’d be willing to bet they’d trade the farm in draft capital to make him their WR1.

  14. garro Says:

I think Jason is doing an ecellent job… Of confusing everyone about the Bucs plans. I don’t think McMilllan will be there at 19. Could be but I doubt it. So rumors about his love of the game? Hmm…

    Go Bucs!

  15. westernpennafan Says:

Find a way to get TYLER WARREN. He is a throw back and will be a fortress breaker for what ever team gets him. Be sure the Bucs rivals in the division and across the NFC are watching too.
Add him to Baker and the Krewe and it will shift the balance of power in the NFC in the Buc’s favor for years to come. Championship years.
Spend the rest of the pics on D.
This kid is a major impact chess piece. He is your baby Gronk. He fits right in with Baker and the Bucs.

  16. BucsFan28 Says:

Hard pass on a WR in round 1. Way bigger needs

  17. FilthyAnimal Says:

Well, he will probably be gone already… and I think Shrager’s source may have fed him nonsense. I would be surprised a little bit if he was their primary target, but who knows. The guy can play.

  18. heyjude Says:

Interesting 2025 mock of teams by Schrager. Not too sure about Tet. We need defense first. A lot of WR gems can be found in the later rounds too.

  19. geno711 Says:

His comparison should be Drake London and not Mike Evans.

Some of these mock guys like Schrager are just lazy. They see a taller and larger (heavier) guy that was productive in college and they lazily compare those guys to Mike Evans (the active leader in TD receptions in the NFL) how absurd.

Its ok for them to be compared to a Drake London or an Ed McCaffrey taller guys that had good seasons.

Comparing to Mike is just silly.

  20. Hodad Says:

I’d rather we drafted Matthew Golden. He reminds me player wise of A.Brown, without the mental issues, and faster. We won a S.B. with A.B., Evans, and Godwin. Weapons for Baker, Matthew Golden round one!

  21. JustVisiting Says:

Since this seems like a pretty deep draft at other positions of interest, would it be insane to trade up for Abdul Carter?

  22. Woodman Says:

Yes it would be insane and not to mention what it would cost in draft capital to move into #3 spot . Not going to happen.

  23. Sean Says:

I agree, I’m glad to see you address Tet’s concerns. I was surprised when you asked Sean Sullivan if he had any reservations about him and he said no. When you say you don’t watch film that’s kinda scary to me.

  24. Capt.Tim Says:

If we are gonna sign a WR in the 1st,
Then we might as well sign a TE in the 2nd, A Guard in 3, and a center in 4.

Then just sign a few older, Cheap Free agents at LB, Edge, CB, and safety.

Then just pray that Mayfield can outscore everybody!
Heck, It’d be exciting if nothing else.

  25. FilthyAnimal Says:

Yes, moving up to the #3 spot would be insane, and I would suggest even floating the idea is insane and kinda clueless.

In other words circumstances, different drafts, different sets of needs… maybe. Like if you were one star pass rusher away and had no depth concerns or other starting positions to think about… but that is basically never the case for any NFL team.

So yeah, totally, certifiably, clinically insane.

  26. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

He is not “that man”. Would go against Licht’s standards.

  27. UGotRobbed Says:

    Noooo! Defense all the way!

  28. pepsi Says:

We’re definitely not drafting this guy, and most likely not drafting offense at pick 19.. so i guess it doesn’t matter who Schrager talks to within one Buc.

  29. Mike Johnson Says:

Nahhh, I think we go mostly defense in this draft. Despite a great offense,
even Stevie Wonder witnessed how sorry our D was last year.

  30. Aqualung Says:

Can’t be drunk enough. Isn’t it over yet?

  31. #1bucsfan Says:

Honestly with most peeps saying we select Campbell which I would like I feel like Bucs do this. They prop won’t everyone to think we are selecting one of our biggest needs which I do thinks it’s our biggest need is ILB. Maybe just a bunch of smoke screens

  32. The Southest Buc Says:

I like Tetairoa. I think our locker room can sharp him and we know that we have 3yrs of Godwin and only 1 for Evans. That’s the main reason Tetairoa > Egbuka.

    Doesn’t seems reasonable @joe?

I like Defense in 1st round but I see a lot of logic going WR

  33. Ron Mexico Says:

Please no. We already have a receiver named McMillan. That will be too confusing.

For the same reason I don’t want Mike Green.

  34. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

Henry, I think we’re set at TE, and tbh I think Gronk himself will be on our playoff roster this year. He wants to come back, but not for a full season. Just watch and wait for that one to send ripples around the league when it happens…

On wideouts, I would also prefer Egbuka like Joe does

  35. Zman Says:

I like Egbuka but in case CG can’t go we need a wr. Why the he’ll would you pay 20 plus mila year for that? If CG can’t go that’s an egregious error by JL and co. Come on. That’s why you don’t sign CG to that ridiculous contract.

  36. Rod Munch Says:

I like it, the MAC attack duo. To me, if you’re drafting a guy in the 1st round, they need to be special at something, and McMillan has special size and speed, both things can’t be taught.

The idea, I think, would be to stack McMillian with Evans, to learn how to play the big-man NFL WR game, the same way that Evans learned from Vincent Jackson.

McMillan would have to put on muscle – while he’s tall, he’s not built like Evans and Jackson, so that would be the one concern I’d have, is he just a tall guy, or can he be a big bodied WR. His frame, to me, looks like he could add weight, but I’m just watching some highlights, so I could be wrong.

Anywho, I’ve been touting this idea for a while now. If there is a run on defensive players, and top offensive players fall – don’t reach to fill a need, just take the best player available at a position where you always need depth and the team has a long history of injuries.

  37. Bucsfan1988 Says:

These mock drafters done lost their dayum minds 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️….

There is ZERO chance we even considering a WR at 19…Mark my words, ZEROOOOOOOO!!!

    We need DEFENSE!!!!
A new safety, a new corner, a new back-up DT, and perhaps a new ILB & edge!!!

    These will be the focus!!

Myself, I still think Nick Emmanwori, South Carolina safety, would be the toy for Bowles because of his size & superior athletism…….

Trade down a little if you can Licht and pick up another 4th or even a 3rd….

    Make it happen!!
