“Elite” Three Years Of Drafting In Tampa, Says Jason Licht
April 10th, 2025Joe loves when Bucs general manager Jason Licht steps out of humble mode and celebrates some of his Ring of Honor credentials.
There was a refreshing moment of that today at his pre-draft news conference at One Buc Palace.
Licht lauded his staff and coaches for coming together to be a dominant NFL force in drafting player.
“Last three years, I would say that combined those draft combined were elite, when you add them up together,” Licht said. “So we’ll try to keep doing it. It doesn’t always work out that way, but keep doing it.”
So what about that combination of the 2022, 2023 and 2024 drafts?
Joe’s got the list below. It represents half the freakin’ starting lineup of a division champion club, in addition to other key contributors. Impressive stuff.
Graham Barton
Chris Braswell
Tykee Smith
Jalen McMillan
Bucky Irving
Elijah Klein
Devin Culp
Calijah Kancey
Cody Mauch
YaYa Diaby
SirVocea Dennis
Payne Durham
Josh Hayes
Trey Palmer
Jose Ramirez
Logan Hall
Luke Goedeke
Rachaad White
Cade Otton
Jake Camarda
Zyon McCollum
Ko Kieft
Andre Anthony

That’s as impressive as it gets.
And with the cap space Jason Licht has cleared, and another good draft,
It’s gonna be hard to find a weakness in this team.
Outstanding. Just Outstanding Mr. Licht.

Of that list all are still with the team except
(1) Punter Camarda who played well for 1 year then flamed out and
(2) Andre Anthony, a 2022 7th round DE who was cut, and later signed with the Bears practice squad. Anthony is now a high school head coach in Louisiana where he grew up and played college ball.

Carmarda was mental not ability so I don’t count that against him.

Well said Capt. Tim.
Please knock another one outta the park and with good health… we are strong SB contenders. No doubt in my mind. Fantastic roster.

Lesson learned, stop drafting kickers and punters
April 10th, 2025 at 4:28 pm
We still need a couple of guys to become real stars from that list. One or two are heading that way but we need more.

Moron say what?
Matt Gay – good pick
Jake Camarda – good pick until he went Kreist Krazy (not Licht’s fault)
If he had not made that idiot pick for the FSU kicker, name escapes me, these dumbass comments wouldn’t happen.
April 10th, 2025 at 5:16 pm
And some fans still think Licht and company suck.

The standard really, isn’t “starters”. But rather did we draft starters that consistently impact the game at their position, and validate the use of that draft pick at the allotted spot.
So from above…
Barton
Irving
Kancey
Mauch
Diaby
Goedeke
Otton (half mention)
Those were good valid picks.
You have to also remember that the others could have been other better picks instead, that were in the final decision-making then, and they went with some of those non-impact players above, at their peril.

Are you serious? You’re whining because they missed on a freaking SEVENTH ROUNDER?
At least they’re smart enough to know who coaches in the NFL and how to spell.
Let me help EDUCATE you so you no longer have to appear so ill educated or ill informed.
It’s BowlEs! If you going to post hate and be a jerk why not go all the way with the other losers. You realize if you simply move the E you get Bowels…how very funny eh?
Here is what makes Jason’s feat most impressive. He did this following an SB when the heat was on to find people to fill in the lost vets and cap space for replacements.
The Bucs had to go and win the Division and games and RUIN their draft position. Jason did this drafting in 26th – 19th – 33rd in three straight years never ONCE drafting in the top half and hell he didn’t even have first rounder when he picked Logan Hall at 33rd.

Let me EDUCATE you bubba- the year Licht drafted Hall in the 33rd pick- we had the 27th overall pick (1st rd) and traded to the Jaguars for their 33rd (2nd rd)- Logan Hall, 106th (4th rd), and 180th (6th rd)

Thanks for the education! I was wondering how the Bucs got out of the first round.
And you really debunked my post eh? Because we all know that drafting
in those 3 years at 26th – 19th and 29th instead of 33rd really changes the point right?
Clearly you need to be “educated” on the point being made. If you wish to correct and example fine but when it doesn’t change the post it shows you’re just a hater or perhaps have an inferiority complex looking to prove yourself.
Success in spotting the error…total FAILURE in comprehending the POINT!!!

Hold On! All of you missed the funniest post of the day! And you guys are back and forth over anal retentive nothingness.
Let me help you out and direct your attention to….
Buc Voyager….. was that on purpose? Come on, it wasn’t but that is Hilarious! You literally tickled my tummy! What’s (not so strange) is how All of the self professed English Language College Professors COMPLETELY MISSED IT!
Thanks for the giggles Voyager…

Excellence! Jason Licht can take a bow for his draft choices.
And I still don’t get why the Bucs are always underrated.
April 11th, 2025 at 8:37 am
Including Hall, Dennis and Tykee Smith – I count 12 starters from the last 3 drafts.
Name me one other current NFL GM who has averaged FOUR starters per draft over a 3 year span……
April 11th, 2025 at 11:24 am
More humor is necessary in this place. And now we see posters getting defensive when someone actually complimented Jason by saying all but two draft picks are still with the team. Take a Midol. Geez.
April 11th, 2025 at 9:31 pm
Can’t disagree the bugs have done well on offense. But as bad as the defense has been how can you say they have drafted well. McCollum great. Cancel ok. Who else is a standout ondefence?
April 12th, 2025 at 9:24 am
” Who else is a standout ondefence?”
For starters Calijah Kancey!!!
