Yes, Of Course Haason Reddick Has The Most To Gain

March 25th, 2025

Upside.

To Joe, this seems like a no-brainer.

Now Joe isn’t sure if Ben Cooper of the PFF tribe included re-signed players as part of his study on free agent signings. But Cooper decided to look at each team’s free agent class and find out the player who has the most upside.

In a decision that shouldn’t surprise anyone, Cooper believes the signing with the most upside from the Bucs is edge rusher Haason Reddick.

But the 30-year-old undeniably has the talent to shred opposing offensive tackles, and the Buccaneers are banking on that.

Reddick instantly becomes Tampa Bay’s most feared edge rusher for 2025, bringing four straight seasons of double-digit sacks.

And add up those sacks from 2020-2023, it totals 50.5 sacks. That’s pretty friggin’ impressive.

Again, Joe thought this was an easy take. For example, if Reddick has, say, 12 sacks, how many teams next February will come drooling over him with fat eight-digit checks in hand for him to endorse?

Of course Reddick has massive upside.

As has been said, get some additional ferocious middle penetration to help Vita and spell him without dropping off the cliff, and things should progress from there. Of course the defensive calls would also have to let Bulls be Bulls. But, yeah.

  2. Esteban85 Says:

Thank God Jason made this signing. Can’t wait to see this front 4 in action. Go Bucs! Christ is King

  3. Bojim Says:

    Yep

Jack Sawyer 4th…..just putting it out there…

Reddick will be a beast and earn that big one with us though….in the mean time, Emman, Aza Thomas, Joshua Farmer gonna get us in those first three….im doing all the calculations and this is working….i dont know, ya’ll know me, i try

  5. Joe in Michigan Says:

It wouldn’t be Draft season without MadMax name dropping, after reading one of those NFL Draft magazines…I’ll trust Licht and his scouts, who actually know something about these kids.

  6. MadMax Says:

    there it is

  7. MadMax Says:

im nothing joeinmich, they dont listen to me….all good

  8. Joe in Michigan Says:

MadMax: You know more than I do, but do you really have to name 5 to 10 players every day?

    Boring 😴

Wonder what will be going through Reddick’s mind on the first 3rd and long after he’s dropped to nickel corner to cover the curl/flat while Logan Hall attempts to rush off the edge?
I’m sure Licht and the Glazer boys will be wondering the same thing as they write Reddick his $875,000 weekly check during the season.

    I’m only kind of joking.

Of course he has the most to gain.

But, his gain is the team’s gain.

If Hassan has a great season, the team as a whole likely has a great season.

If he plays not so well, then obviously, the team may not do as well.

I’m not saying the whole season’s outcome is on the shoulders of one person. It’ll take the entire team.

We seriously need an edge rusher.

We went out and got one with a proven track record of being a great edge rusher.

I hope Hassan has a great season!

And if he stands to benefit the most come free agency next year, I’m fine with that.

We’re in win-now mode and just a couple of defensive pieces away from a serious playoff run.

    Works for me.

    @Vanessa Anne

That pretty much sums it all up.

  13. KABucs Says:

Would be funny if he has a great season and still stays with the Bucs for less money. LOL
… the culture and FL attributes do their thing.

  14. HC Grover Says:

Seems to me he will be better than Plan 9 was. That is an upgrade. Will miss Plan 9 though he was always good for a laugh.

  15. BayouBullet Says:

Hassan White is what he is…a soon to be 31 year old has been. I pray the bucs draft a decent edge rusher.

  16. Lord Cornelius Says:

I think we still need to prioritize edge rush in the top 3 rounds this year. I’d love it R1.

Visually we were so bad last year at rushing the passer with 4 that we need to hedge our bets. Hell if we somehow get DE & DT in the first 4 roudns I wouldn’t be mad lol

  17. Zoocomics Says:

So, Reddick goes off in 2025, what’s this guy going to get paid?

Fans underappreciate the favor Devin White did for us in 2024. There was no way we pay Baker, Wirfs, Winfield, and Evans and then somehow come up with another $20M for White. We have to rob from Peter to pay Paul, and I’m not sure who we were going to lose to make ALL that happen.

I don’t know how any franchise can build a championship team anymore. EVERYONE that makes a stat is looking for max payout, but they still want to win the Super Bowl, right. Teams have to hit perfect in the draft. Why Licht feels such pride in making our “humble” bunch the highest paid at their position, is beyond me. But it’s important with stroke their egos, this whole salary cap be damned!

Looking at our 2026 offseason, you’re looking at Baker extension, which we will see what a team guy he is when the chips are down, Evans will be looking for one last bump, Vita, Goedeke, Zyon. Am I missing anyone?

  18. Aqualung Says:

    Let’s go.

  19. The Smokey GO Bucs!!! Says:

Money is a good motivation so I’m sure he will try to put up his best numbers ever to get one more big pay day before he goes down the one year contract route like Suh did.

  20. Hodad Says:

Don’t know what kind of season he’ll have, but even if it’s great I don’t see why the Bucs couldn’t keep him here? We also don’t know if he’d want to leave Tampa for a few extra bucks? Many have taken less to be part of something good. Evans, Godwin, Baker, David, have all taken a little less. Long way off, hope he balls out.

  21. MadMax Says:

sorry i offend you joeinmich, just skip over my posts….its called bouncing around ideas (names)…as we get closer, things get narrowed down. Trust me, I have my board for the first 5 picks almost ready…and if a trade down occurs it might be 6 or 7 picks in the first 5 rounds….

I think what i posted earlier is a realistic and ideal scenario….but get offended all you want, its funny.

  22. Bucs4Ever Says:

    but can he cover?
