  1. Greg Says:

He’s been hot and cold even without being injured.

  2. Bucs Fan From Philly Says:

We got an edge rusher, and we will draft an inside linebacker in the first round, so perhaps the defense will look a little different and he won’t be as vulnerable.

  3. Bucs Fan From Philly Says:

Plus his replacement has yet to be signed. Nor can we expect a rookie to start. Draft a corner, let him learn behind Dean for a year then we can gradually move on from Dean next offseason if need be.

Jason can sign him to an extension, for less money and that would be equally as sufficient. No one will sign him for $10m, if we release him. Hopefully he would be open to reworking his contract.

  4. Anyhony Says:

Better to have and not need than to need and not have.

  5. pewter941 Says:

Did you guys not see what it looked like when he was off the field, jeez. We need Dean and 2 more cbs, probably through the draft.

  6. D-Rome Says:

I think this is the first time I’ve voted “Not sure” on a JBF poll.

  7. Allbuccedup Says:

Draft a corner in second or third round work in while Deans healthy if Dean goes out your covered. You can always trade or release him next year if necessary.

  8. Lol Says:

Keep him and draft his replacement. Hes at market value currently and is still average to above. When he gets hurt this season his replacement can come in to start

  9. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Be careful what you wish; you cut him and someone has to play there.

  10. David Says:

He is good when healthy and need the depth. UNless they can save millions and have someone who is better to take his place, but I do not see it yet.

  11. Marine Buc Says:

Yes – keep Dean for one more season and draft another CB in rounds 1-3 who can start at NCB this year and will replace Dean next season.

  12. Fred Says:

Whoever saying No Doesn’t know Football.

  13. WilieG Says:

Yes, but have Plan B and Plan C coached up and ready to go. If B or C proves worthy of reps before Dean has his annual injury, give them reps and save some wear and tear on Dean in preparation for the playoffs.

  14. Simeon4HOF Says:

Classic tolerate till replace. Bucs win most games when he plays.
Soft coverage too often and no INT’s, then injured tho.
Until whoever we draft is ready to take his place, it’s better to have him then not. Maybe we get a CB in Rd 1 and he’s expendable a lil later who knows. As is, Bucs are stronger at CB then without him. He needs to be replaced asap … till then his soft self remains

  15. Simeon4HOF Says:

Whether we keep him squeezed under cap or not,
He’s our primary weakness on Defense so

  16. BA’s Red Pen Says:

    • NO

  17. Fred McNeil Says:

We don’t have enough depth at corner to make Dean expendable yet. He’s actually not mad if he could just catch.

  18. Anyhony Says:

@ Simeon4HOF : I thought the 6 second, third and fourth team guys that were in and out of the line up all season were the weakness, …….no?

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

The solution isn’t to get rid of him. The solution is to bring in someone who can force him into a backup role.

Then he becomes quality depth and trade bait.

  20. Bring back the lawn chairs Says:

    Deans claim to fame:
    He left no pass caught.
Rod toast jones clone thru and thru.
His best play was ‘when riding the pines’.
The man can surely talk a good game because the Bucs rewarded him richly for what remains a mystery to my last breathing days!

  21. MadMax Says:

I voted yes but he’s got to know….come on Dean, stay healthy.

  22. Simeon4HOF Says:

@Anyhony they were obviously eaknesses too need to be depthed out.
Fact remains Bucs could use an upgrade over Dean as well
