Trask is a great backup. Lol he could go in and play solid. He’s been in our system for a long time and other players shared how he works extra with them learning routes. It sparks joy for me to see folks hate on him for no reason. It would be the funniest thing if he comes out this preseason and plays lights out bc some FSU honks will screech about how much he sucks.

    Trask > Jameis

He’s an ok backup on a good deal. 👍

Great segment —- “If you are going to have a losing season, (Jameis) is great for entertainment…”

Quick question, how can Trask get better if he doesn’t play? Smh…

Ira didn’t make a lot of sense this podcast. He says no one is worried about Baker’s league leading turnovers at QB for Ints AND fumbles lost. That’s a losing mentality. Obviously the coaches felt the same way and didn’t stress ball security so during the most important drive of the season they give the ball away.

Baker has had his hands involved in turnovers in the past 2 postseason losses but it’s no big deal according to some people. Lol…ok fine.

What happens if Baker has his hands involved in another turnover that leads to a playoff loss? What will be the narrative then? Will it matter or will this team “reload” for another “Superbowl” run with him leading the team?

    Thank you!

What happens if worms have guns? Robins wouldn’t screw with them.

Joe would say stressing about turnovers when the quarterback is producing is a “loser mentality.” Until or unless the Bucs stumble upon someone better than Baker, he’s your guy, like it or not.

(Of course, let’s overlook how the Bucs’ defense against Washington couldn’t force one punt. Not one. But yeah, let’s blame Baker for a fumble. )

Baker *was not* the problem last year.

(And if Trask was that guy, Mayfield wouldn’t be here.)

  6. JimBobBuc Says:

Ask Joel about a new stadium and attendance. Will the Bucs play in Spain?

Ask Todd about our night game record. Which defender will take a big step up this season?

Ask Licht how they evaluate the risk of drafting a player with an injury history? How early before the draft does Licht talk to other GM’s about draft day trades?

Grandson been over and we’ve been outside working over the old property. First mow. Bermuda not growing yet but the winter weeds sure are. Daffs and tulips and lilac and forsythia and clematis blooms are just lighting it up! Just pushed away from the supper table. Beef stew, can’t beat it. Great day! So me and the old hound settling in to listen to our favorite podcast. So reading the comments before listening. Big Mistake. I read the comment of Bee. And I’m a Mayfield fan. Thanks alot Bee. Okay, a few minutes have passed. Back in the right mind to listen to you guys. Thanks in advance for a great podcast! And hoping you’ll have an explosive stomach bug hit you this evening Bee. Seriously.

  8. BayouBullet Says:

Bee are you related to Rod Munch? Id hate to think where we would be without Baker. I’ve been a bucs fan since before their 1st game and id argue with anyone until I’m blue in the face he’s the best QB this team has ever had. Better than even Brady. You are certainly entitled to your opinion but just looking at the numbers your distaste for Baker comes across as petty and illogical. Go bucs!!!!

  9. Kenton Smith Says:

BayouBullet, some people don’t know the game. You Sir aren’t one of them.

  10. BayouBullet Says:

    @ Kenton Smith

Thanks appreciate the kind words. Some would argue I get a little negative at times but just love my bucs and just want what I think is best for us. I’m a huge Baker boy and think when it’s all said and done he’s going to have a stellar career.Hope you and the dog have a wonderful evening. Go bucs !!!!

  11. unbelievable Says:

Eh, I can’t go there. Brady was better in 2020 and 2021.

Bakers also playing great thought and def brings a different element / style. Yes some of those turnovers could be cut down, no one should deny that, but not all were on Baker either. Both things can be true and if any of you are being honest, you know that’s the case.

As for coaches being scared of turnovers- with Jameis that’s 100% valid and only one Joe thinks otherwise lol.

Here’s a question for Bowles: why don’t you demand your corners don’t play so soft?

    i’m starting to realize…

ira kinda…sorta…looks like a human coconut donut…in the kindest sense of the words… 🙂

    am i wrong…?

he’s a coconut donut in the human form…

at least i didn’t call him irv 🙂

  13. Rey Says:

Steve or whoever is the host of the podcast said he is not concerned about Campbell injury cause is not on his legs and might be JUST a shoulder. Well we have an ILB name S. Dennis that have lost two years with a shoulder injury that requires surgery and he never did as soon he finished his college football career and we still don’t know if he will be able to play 17 games this year. With that in mind that comment from Steve doesn’t make any sense.
Dennis, for two seasons, had been avoiding surgery tied to a shoulder injury he had in college. Campbell already had surgery and is recovering. –Joe

  14. heyjude Says:

Great podcast as always! Loving the roster too and it can only get better now.

Unsure about Campbell. I was all in early on, and unfortunately after reading more on here about the injury there are some hesitations to look at. Certainly teams including the Bucs will do their homework on that and will make the right decision.

Love Baker. Can’t say enough about him. So happy we got him. Memories of Fitzmagic. We all will never forget his post game conference with the entire get-up from DeSean Jackson. Fun memories.

Cannot wait to hear more next week, especially about Reddick, new clock management, et al.

Thank you for this fantastic blog. Sometimes we all have life curve-balls and having Joes blog and all the comments really do brighten the moments. Appreciate your support.–Joe

  15. Stevek Says:

Baker is a dude’s dude. Enjoy watching him QB our Bucs. Hopefully he can dial down the INTs just a little bit. He was better last year for us than the year prior. Hoping he can keep taking little steps, but I am happy we have him and can contend. 🇺🇸

  16. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Baker is a B+ talent with A++ intangibles. The occult of Trask will never give the guy his due. It’s so unbelievably stupid, the NFL is a quarterback starved league and little Kyle didn’t even get a sniff from another team. Trask is a low end career backup, at best.
