Bucs Sign Veteran Cornerback Kindle Vildor

March 13th, 2025

Infamous Lions cornerback is now a Buccaneer.

The Bucs have locked down a five-year veteran cornerback with experience in big games, not all of it good.

Kindle Vildor is a new Buccaneer, per NFL Network.

Vildor started all three Lions playoff games two seasons ago and last year played all 17 games on a Lions secondary ravaged by injuries. He also was a strong special teams player for Detroit.

Vildor is infamous in Detroit for the NFC Championship throw that went off his face and into the hands of 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk for a monster gain in the 49ers comeback win (see photo above).

Originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Bears in 2020, Vildor was on the Titans roster for six weeks in 2023.

Vildor, 27, will earn a veteran minimum salary. At 5-11, he’s shorter than a typical Todd Bowles outside cornerback.

  1. Lt. Dan Says:

Meh. This just offsets the loss of Tavierre Thomas to the Vikings.

  2. BucDawg Says:

We need a lock down CB in the draft. If we can’t get Campbell at LB, I would grab Barron at CB out of Texas. Smart and physical. If the coverage is tight downfield, the pressure on the QB should amplify.

  3. Colin in Canada Says:

I think the bucs will draft an outside corner and another slot corner in the draft. Dean isn’t going anywhere (yet).

  4. gbobucsfan Says:

    100% Lt. Dan

  5. Lord Cornelius Says:

Guessing this is more of a special teams move

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

This doesn’t move the needle for me. But Licht knows what he is doing so just go with it. If we needed a guy to bounce balls off a facemask we have Dean.

  7. Nicholas Carlson Says:

The vibes are very anti-Dean right now, but I’m in no rush to see him leave. When he plays, and especially when he’s allowed to play man, he’s more than effective. Nice to have that for even just 10 games if they are the right 10. And his salary isn’t coming out of my pocket…

  8. pewter941 Says:

Deans roster spot is getting safer by the day.

  9. Josh Says:

With what everyone just got paid Dean is the “cheap” cb option lol sounds rediculous but this is the NFL in 2025…

  10. BucVoyager Says:

Why did I read that as Val Kilmer?

  11. Bushlover Says:

Lord Corner saw the light. A special teams move, and merely depth.

The add at LB of Anthony Walker Jr from down south seems like a more legitimate move at LB for us.

  12. Bushlover Says:

    *Lord Corn

  13. Canabuc Says:

There are some good LB round 2. Would get too corner or Campbell round 1 and then reverse round 2.
Take upside receiver in round 3. Then 4 through 7 pound the trenches and ilb

  14. BakerFan Says:

well at least he was in the picture defending…. last year’s defense would not have a defender within 10 yards of receivers then would miss a tackles once they finally arrive.

  15. BucNWaterBoy Says:

We can never have enough secondary depth. I don’t see this guy taking a starting spot from anyone. We still need more DBs. Would love to see us sign Asante Samuel Jr. or Mike Hilton to add depth. But they may cost more than Licht is willing to spend.

  16. Tbbucs3 Says:

No corner signing for the Bucs is just a “special teams move”….we literally had to watch Geno Hayes play last year

  17. Bucsfan Says:

If he were worthy-Lions would have signed him again-camp meat.

  18. Tbbucs3 Says:

    ****Josh Hayes

    RIP Geno Hayes

  19. Funderstruck Says:

As Ned in The Three Amigos once said, “infamous means MORE than famous!”

  20. buc4evr Says:

Dean is not bad, he is just never available. Bucs need to do better at CB.

  21. Aqualung Says:

    Bryce Hall. Please.

  22. Pewter Power Says:

    You got it Tbbucs3

Nobody wants to see Josh Hayes or finderburke unless it is special teams. Jason Licht might be getting called out for those two pickups but damn Bowles was a safety in the nfl secondary should be the strongest position on the team.

  23. Noclu4u Says:

Special teams add. Bucs gotta go corner in the draft . Remember Diaby was top 5 in pressures so a good corner will add the extra second to help turn a lot of Diaby’s pressures into sacks. It’s a tough decision because corners usually take time to develop/acclimate to the NFL. I like Barron and the guy from Notre Dame but I also like Hairston from Kentucky. Hairston ran a 4.2 in the 40 but more importantly he played well in the S.E.C.
If they can get Hairston in the 2nd or if he happens to fall to the third the bucs should move up immediately.
If Bucs get a good corner that plays well early I would not be surprised to see Diaby and Reddick Both get 11-12 sacks . I actually expect Reddick to get more than that (14) . Dude wants to get paid and I think last year was an aberration.
    As always Go Bucs💪

  24. BucsFan81 Says:

We still need a starting LB next to David and Starting CB to replace Dean who is made of glass. Hopefully this will come on Day 1 and 2 of the draft.

  25. Redzone Says:

Wasn’t this one of the bad wizards in Harry Potter?

  26. SC Bucs Fan Says:

Josh Hayes can only get better because Lord knows he can’t get worse

  27. Gipper Says:

The kid from ND, Morrison, looks like he could be a fine NFL CB. Expect he will be around in 2nd or 3rd round. Everyone reading this should check out his ND highlights video..

  28. Todd Bowls Says:

Is Kindle Vildor any relation to iPad Vader?

May the force be with you, Joe!

  29. Todd Bowls Says:

I have a lot more confidence in Kyle Trask than the last 2-3 back up QBs that the Bucs had on the roster, so the one guy was pretty good at picking up plane crash survivors around Davis Island if I recall.

  30. Todd Bowls Says:

    Whoops wrong thread

  31. Fred McNeil Says:

Not familiar with the guy. The face mask ricochet just happens.

  32. BucEmUp Says:

Bro cmon!!!!!! Sign some fire not these 13 yards off giveaway first downs

  33. Aqualung Says:

Apparently Algo doesn’t like Bryce Hall.

  34. Simeon4HOF Says:

    Beats Hayes

  35. toopanca Says:

He is an upgrade as a backup which is exactly what the Bucs needed.

  36. Simeon4HOF Says:

When’s that Jamel Dean domino going to fall tho lol
