Always love the draft insight and dedication to this. It’s a craft honestly. Being in Knoxville has given me ample opportunity to see Pierce Jr. as he is certainly a freak who can play violent. I’ve mentioned this before on other articles that he has consistently been hidden from local and national media since his junior year. I do have friends who are near the program often and the consensus is he doesn’t do well in front of others with questions flying. No character concerns, just mostly personal preferences on when to be public. He didn’t produce like he did his junior year and that may have lead to even more hide and seek with the media.

Yes. This has always been some of my favorite draft coverage first because it is sound, thorough, first-person analysis, second, that is Bucs’ focused and third that Mr. Sullivan’s values and assessments often match-up with other draft nerds I respect. And now enhanced by a trip to the Combine and some nuggets direct from Cosell, one if my other favorite proper draft analysts! This made my night. It’s absolutely awesome stuff. My personal target for the Bucs in the first is Donovan, ideally with a little trade back, but if Green or Pearce fall to the Bucs and they end up being the pick I’ll still be pleased. I have faith in Licht and Co. to make the right call when it comes to their respective character issues. Green is rumored to have had a pair of incidents of getting pushy with females but all anyone knows for sure is he was dismissed from the team at West Virginia his freshman year for “undisclosed reasons.” He was my first favorite but Donovan and his refined technique, character, freaky wingspan and times at the combine have him as my firm favorite after more thorough scrutiny. His wingspan is basically the same as the OTs he’ll be facing and I know Mr. Sullivan doesn’t put much stock in arm length since it can be compensated for with technique but it does convey an advantage in establishing the arc of contact around the edge and gives him a wider strike zone as a tackler. Green has T-Rex arms and hands and he used them beautifully against the likes of Coastal Carolina but the character concerns and lack of length contributes to his lack of value against the run, makes it easier for NFL OTs to wash him out of the pocket have and have busted him way down in my eyes. Pearce is awesome but he’ll be gone by the Bucs pick methinks. I like all the Bucs interviews except for Princely. He is not a clean scheme fit and his film is meh. Reddick is great but only under contract for 2025 and one of these players all represent good value to me so unless Nick Emmanwori is still on the board I’d take a true edger over Campbell. Hopefully Donovan.

Thank you for all the wonderful podcasts and analysis. I like how you addressed the drop in production that is so common among top 50 prospects. I agree with each of your reasons to account for it but would add one more. Ever since the transfer portal became what it is today coaches have to give a lot more snaps to underclassmen they are afraid of losing to other programs who are promising them more burn sooner. It’s chewing into most every established starter’s snap count and production.

Thanks Sean, enjoyed your breakdown, I look forward to your mock draft. There are some good edge rushers likely on the board at #19 but do we pick one in round 1 after the Reddick pick up? Personally I think so. There is much hype for Ezeroku(spelling?). Licht can pick up CB and linebacker in rounds 2 and 3 and 4. Honestly after Vernon Hargreaves disaster I could not stand to see us go corner in round 1. I would also be glad to see Bucs pickup Jihaad Campbell in round 1. Which grouping is next for your evaluation?
