Tristan Wirfs Sends A Message To Myles Garrett

After celebrating the 2025 salary cap increase, Joe thinks it’s the ideal time to share Tristan Wirfs’ comments about the Buccaneers potentially trading for beastly Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett.
“That’s not crazy at all,” Wirfs said of the chatter surrounding the Bucs dealing for Garrett. “Myles Garrett, Tampa’s a great place. You’d love Tampa.”
Wirfs’ comments came on a SportsGrid show.
After giving Garrett his blessing, Wirfs acknowledged that he’s learned the ways of the NFL — at least in Tampa.
“It’s crazy, the longer you’re here and, you know, you understand more of the business side and how things work, we want to keep our guys, and that’s always a Priority No. 1,” Wirfs said. “But yeah, [adding Garrett to the Bucs] would be pretty insane.”
How much fun would training camp be with reps of Wirfs and Garrett going all out against each other?

Garrett, Hendrickson, or Maxx would be huge. There are also a few 7-8 sack guys in FA that would be great. Tyreke Hill keeps talking about the Bucs. Can you imagine adding a top edge and Hill. Instantly Top 4 contender.

Considering what Cleveland wants for Garrett, trading for him appears to be next to impossible. Cleveland gave the farm for Watson and they seem intent on getting it back by dangling Garrett.
There’s not a team in the league who wouldn’t want Garrett. Question remains … what are they (and us) willing to give up to get him.

The fact that Wirfs is out there giving off positive vibes for Garrett to come to Tampa. How sweet is that? As Joe’s post the other day suggested, Wirfs is becoming our NFL ambassador. You gotta love the guy!

Signing Garrett would be the best early Xmas present the Buc’s could give to it’s fans! An awesome Edge rusher is the most important position missing from this team the past 2 years! A fan can dream!!!!!!

Its nice to dream of us having a formidable Defensive front 4. Even nicer to want a bad A.. Defense period. But the reality is neither Bowles nor/Licht think that way. Would be great though if they did though. YOU GOTTA WANNA BE GREAT. And I question whether this franchise actually wants that. Garrett ain’t coming here. More than likely we will go Dumpster dipping for a DE.

Wirfs is best buds with Baker! So perhaps Baker could forgive?
Bottom line the team chemistry is great there are plenty of other guys besides Garrett who can get to the passer especially if you’re willing to part with that much draft capital and cash.
But again I confess I differ from a lot here. I do not view this year as a “window” which will be closing in a couple of years. Other teams, can you say KC, have been consistently good and the Bucs have a great blend now of youth and vets.
This year is not now or never IMHO. It’s like any other year…NOW!

Remember when Mack flipped Wirfs onto his back?
Bucs vs Bears. Rookie Wirfs vs Pro Bowl/1st Team Mack. Mack probably thought he was going to take the rook to school but Wirfs absolutely dominated Mack all game. Mack finally got PISSED and put everything into a swim move that dumped Wirfs on his ass. They replayed it a thousand times. Literally a 340lbs, ass-over-head, body slam. The stadium must of shook.
That match up would make for some fun practices.

Don’t see the Bucs giving up 2 firsts for Garrett, right, or wrong. Maybe they deal for Hendrickson at a cheaper price. Look for a less exspensive option from Licht.

Wasn’t T.J. Watt still available in the draft when we chose O.J. Howard? Still frosty over that missed opportunity. We picked OJ at 17th pick and TJ went at 30th in the 2017 draft.
Licht making Garrett happen in a trade would make up for that big oops. Lol
