Still A 50/50 Shot Bucs Play On Foreign Soil In 2025
February 4th, 2025Yesterday, NFL strongman Roger Goodell held his annual State of the NFL address in front of select members of the Fourth Estate.
In short, be nice to Rog’ and you’ll get an invite.
There, Goodell once again noted the international plan for the NFL, but it’s not locked in yet, is to play eight international games in 2025, and 16 games per year in the near future. Eight games means there will be 16 teams involved — half the league. Thus, the Bucs have a coin flip of playing a game in a foreign land.
Since the Bucs have marketing rights in Germany and have an investment in a Bucs-themed sports bar near Marienplatz in Munich, Joe is selfishly hoping the Bucs return to Munich.
(Joe is still fully triggered that the Bucs bar has the gall to serve Killians when some of the best beer in the free world is brewed steps from this establishment. What were they thinking?)
Regardless, Joe knows some Bucs fans will travel just about anywhere the team playss. So just in case, better make sure your passports are up to date.

One of Bucs fans at least will be happy lol.
As a Greek Bucs fan here in Athens i had only one opportunity to watch our Bucs, in London against the Panthers.
Cant complain since i got the full Jameis experience, we got something like 6 to 7 turnover hahahaha.
The game in Germany although we were so excited (since my brother is a Seahawks fan) we could not even get a sniff at the tickets due to bots. I was waiting in line 2 hours before they release the tickets for sale and i got a number in the que around the 600k. Ridiculous.
Anyway I m waiting for the Bucs to come again in Europe. Maybe we can be in Madrid vs the Dolphins. There is always a chance.
Hey Joe if you come to Europe for a game remember to arrange a meet up for all the other Joes like us. Would be awesome to meet you guys.
Go Bucs

The Bucs have always been the “home” team when the Bucs have gone to London or Munich, thus losing a home game at RJS. They are probably the only team in the NFL which has never played a road game overseas. Even the Jags got one of their 2 2023 games in London as a road game.
Now, in 2025 the AFC has the extra home game so that all the home teams for international games will be AFC teams. It would be nice for the Bucs to get an away game overseas such as in Madrid to play the Fins but I bet the Bucs probably will just lose another home game in 2026 and go back to Europe/Germany.
The Bucs give away home games to play overseas while teams like the Cowboys have never given up a home game in the “House that Jerry Built” to play an international game. Its a Bucs life…… Maybe these trends will finally change……

Our Bucs have lost 9 home games in the last 2 seasons.

Can’t Goodell be term-limited?

State of the Game? What a flippin joke! Between he and his pal Richie they are destroying the game. Foreign games? Add more games? He has these guys on his own personal treadmill and the so called players union says oh thanks Roger may I have another please?
Go Bucs!

Hofentlich Sie spielen im Bremen. So not making this up. I was stationed on the North Sea in Bremen 87-89. One of the soldiers I spotted on post wearing full American Football gear. I asked him about it and he said he played off post for a Civilian club run by Germans called the Bremen Buccaneers. Bremen is a sea port so the pirate name makes sense. I did not remember that until i read this article but the memory is quite clear. I looked it up on Wikipedia just to make sure I was not hallucinating and there it is. They lasted 2 years 89-90 He played in HS and was a running back.

BTW Joe not all of us have means to go to Munich or Barcelona or wherever Roger dreams up next. Just so ya know there are still alot of fans sho cant afford season tickets in the nose bleeds of Ray Jay.
Obviously, Joe is aware. Hey, Joe’s not sure what’ll be in Joe’s bank account. And yes, it’s just a football game that can be seen without attending. No doubt a trip to Europe is for those with disposable cash. Joe was writing more in a figurative manner. –Joe
Go Bucs!

My other memory was when I drove up to Copenhagen with another lieutenant Bart. It is about a five hour drive with a ferry from Bremen. We saw all these guys in full American football gear with exact Minnesota Vikings colors and helmets. They were a local team.

The Bucs bar in Munich should serve Jai Alai to give it the full Tampa vibe. Not sure if Cigar City sells over seas or not.
