SirVocea Dennis Expected Back At Full Strength

February 25th, 2025

There sure was extra juice in the voice of Buccaneers Ring of Honor general manager Jason Licht this morning when Joe asked him about his oft-injured middle linebacker.

SirVocea Dennis looked like a beast in the four games he played last season on the heels of a rookie season that saw him buried on the bench.

The Dennis sample size was small last season, too (104 snaps), but he impressed enough to get fans and Licht excited.

Licht told Joe that Dennis is on track to be ready and working hard in spring practices, and Licht noted how Dennis was playing some of the best ball in the league when he was on the field last season.

Apparently, Dennis’ offseason shoulder surgery was successful and the Bucs are banking on him in some capacity.

    @Joe

With all due respect Joseph, not sure I agree with “SirVocea Dennis looked like a beast in the four games he played”

Maybe the Beast term is too generous …. My mind wonders….

  3. BuckyBuc Says:

when he was on he was great

  4. Pickgrin Says:

Hopefully the shoulder problems are fully behind him now – because “Voss” Dennis is a very good football player. Smart, athletic and tough.

  5. Cobraboy Says:

My fear is the guy, while solid, is fragile.

Counting on Dennis staying healthy, and not adding another MLB for competition would be a hugh gamble. He lasted a whole 3.5 games as a part time player! Never made it through a training camp, or preseason. Yeah pencil him in. Trade down a couple of spots draft Campbell. Between Dennis, and David fingers, and toes are crossed. I wouldn’t count on those two alone being enough.

  7. David Says:

He showed signs of being the LVD heir apparent but they still need to draft another ILB

  8. Fred McNeil Says:

I think the guy is a china doll. Maybe we can get a few games a year out of him.

Don’t worry about Dennis, he attended/witnessed the AWJ self preservation seminar. Injured on and off his first few years so you can glimpse the greatness. Then, he’ll play lights out on that contract yr. Become the highest paid at his position (a Licht specialty for homer picks with a small body of work). And then it’s back to the tub for a nice soak an collect. Cynical, I know…until those 2 prove otherwise.

Some food for thought. Dean and AWJ have missed the same number of regular season games, 13. AND Dean has 1 more season under his belt, yet we like to say how soft Dean is and what a stud our cap-eater, AWJ, is. Hmmm. Ok that’s not fair…they’re both cap eaters

If the Lemon thing in automobiles were in effect here, Dennis has been the equivalent so far in his NFL career. The injuries have been his worst nightmare and I hope he gets to play, Finally. Someone needs to come in and get rid of that demon away from him.

  11. SlyPirate Says:

    Breakout candidates …
    1. Devin Culp
    2. Sean Tucker
    3. SirVocea Dennis
    4. Elijah Klein (if Bredeson isn’t resigned)

  12. unbelievable Says:

Unfortunately “full strength” for SVD means he’s available for about 4 or 5 games for the entire season.

  13. Defense Rules Says:

Cobraboy … ‘My fear is the guy, while solid, is fragile’.

Exactly. He’s been with us for 2 seasons and lasted a grand total of 17 games. Sports an 82.4% Completion Rate Allowed over those 2 years over 205 def snaps.

Devin White has been chastised mercilessly for being poor in coverage, yet he’s got a 77.3% Completion Rate Allowed over a 6-year career with over 5,000 def snaps.

Guess I’m not as impressed as some seem to be.

  14. NJbucs23 Says:

kid can play, please stay healthy and strengthen your core and shoulders!

  15. PewterStiffArm Says:

I watched him in college and as he was introduced to the NFL big boys he has always, to me, looked a little undersized. Some more muscle mass and maybe, just maybe he can take on some beefy running backs and goliath tight ends. Good luck, every week that is what is thrown at these guys.

  16. JimBobBuc Says:

I’m happy the SVD lovers have broken down his All 22 tape. I didn’t see much the few times he was on the field. He did make one big splash play at the end of the Detroit game – sooo if he can repeat that for 17+ games he’s a keeper.

Try to lure LVD back, pick up a FA ILB, and draft the 2nd or 3rd ranked ILB in the draft in rnd2.

  17. E N Says:

His shoulder injury was from college, so hopefully with it fully repaired he can stay healthy.
