Despite Saying He’s Thinking Of A Comeback, Rob Gronkowski Now Says He’s Not

February 26th, 2025

“I got ’em again, Camille!”

Foot-rubbing Rob Gronkowski sure knows how to stir things up.

In a recent edition of the “Dudes on Dudes” podcast with his former teammate Julian Edelman, former Bucs star tight end Gronk strongly hinted he was thinking of a comeback because he said the way he was working out (with Baker Mayfield) he felt better than he did when he last played.

Reports shortly came out of Denver that Gronk was interested in playing for the Broncos because he became tight with Denver coach Sean Payton when the two worked together at FOX.

Well, good guy and NFL insider Jordan Schultz got a hold of Gronk and he seemed surprised anyone would be discussing his possible comeback.

“Crazy bro. They must know something about me that I don’t. I wish I still had those powers, because that would be cool if I did. But I was just in Australia for a few days. Now it’s time to relax a little. No football.”

Well Gronk, people got the idea of a comeback from you! LOL

Look, Joe likes Gronk. Who doesn’t like Gronk? But the Tampa resident always liked to play games with media, dropping some news one day then pulling a where-did-you-get-that-idea-from reaction. 🙂

So no, it looks like Gronk’s done. Would have been cool to see what Gronk could do with Mayfield throwing him passes.

Dude was such a great player. So much fun watching him play. I’m sure that he wonders from time to time “What if”. But that’s just day dreaming. He’s kind of embraced his after football role of the lovable oaf. Great player with a very likeable personality. Really like the idea that he was a Buccaneer for a short while. Should he be in the teams’ ROH? He was only here for a very short time but he was key piece in winning a Super Bowl. Be interesting to see if they induct him.

If he ever wanted to make a comeback and was working out to stay an amazing shape, he’d be talking about it in late summer anyhow… so he could fully miss out on camp… a normal vet move.

Such a cute couple! Good for Gronk and his girlfriend. Enjoy life.

  4. Aqualung Says:

What dude wouldn’t want to be Gronk?

He doesnt need 3680 words to say something that could be said in 47. He’s fun and funny, doesn’t take anything too seriously other than winning when he was playing. And he knows that complementary football and time of possession are important, as is winning the turnover battle. Rare football insight as well as great sense of humor.

  5. Todd Bowls Says:

Gronk would make a great player/coach. Backup and situational (red zone) TE and a good TE coach.

    Gronk! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. ModHairKen Says:

I’d take a 72 year old Gronk with 2 teeth and a shoulder and knee replacement over any of the TEs on this roster.

  8. ModHairKen Says:

Speaking of old cats, imagine if Mike Alstott in his prime was running behind
    this OL.

  9. KABucs Says:

Hey, give Otten some credit. He’s no Gronk in his prime but he’s a keeper.
I think the memory of that shot to the ribs Gronk took from a LB his final season is not helping any desire to return.
