  1. Kieran Says:

Make it happen or get packin, one year to prove it next season, if you don’t improve then it’s the Liam show the next 5 years.

There’s still a window opportunity for a few Super Bowl runs.

  2. Bucs Fan From Philly Says:

The real question is, who would he be replaced with? For the record, I think injuries and depth impacted our defense. This coach beat Mahomes in the Super Bowl with a team. Who do we think can do better with the same? This fire Bowles narrative is killing me because it is not like there is a better coach out there that we should hire.

Bowles brings stability. .500 team, and division titles and playoff births. WHO WILL WE REPLACE HIM WITH? Coach free agency isn’t filled with Super Bowl winners who are unemployed.

  3. Bee Says:

I have little confidence in Bowles as a HC and DC but I’m very confident in the fact that the Bucs, at best will be playoff loser again next year.

Unless Bowles somehow gets better at time management, defensive scheme and personnel decisions, this team is going nowhere fast. Plus his QB turns the ball over more than any QB in the league makes the situation worse.

This team regressed this year. Look at the decision making from Bowles in the Lions divisional playoff game and versus WAS this year. No growth, no improvement.

As long as Bowles and Baker are here this team is treading water.

  4. Tbbucs3 Says:

    Agree, Bucs fan from Philly

Many dont seem to realize that it can get a lot worse before it gets better and Todd Bowles bring stability

A total reset right now after three playoffs in a row would be Malpractice.

That being said the bar has raised for Todd Bowles, and I think that he would be on the hot seat if the Bucs were to be a first round exit next year or not make the playoffs at all.

  5. gp Says:

The real question is, who would he be replaced with?
    *********************************************************
You’ve nailed it, this is the biggest question right now. That doesn’t bring my vote up from no confidence though.
If he turns over the defense to a competent DC, and takes some time management courses, he might be able to improve and, better yet, stabilize these polls.
    Until then, never stop looking.

  6. SB~LV Says:

    It’s always been “Confident “
Which is the same as the C’s on my report card

  7. Mondy Says:

How anyone can say their confident when the stats don’t like about Bowles. He is the definition of mediocrity. He is 1-3 in the playoffs, he is 2-6 in one score games and games in the playoffs are mostly one score games. He’s not winning this team a title which I thought was the goal but if you wanna keep on hanging banners for winning the worst division in the NFL then keep Bowles but he’s never going to change.

  8. Tbbucs3 Says:

It is quite shocking how many fans want to replace Todd Bowles with the guy who’s offense can’t execute a basic hand off in the fourth quarter of a playoff game.

  9. Kysbucs18 Says:

That’s a 2 parter for me. Bowles the DC I’m confident in. The D needs more talent at some important positions… but Bowles the HC not so much. You would think a HC with 8 years experience would have the self awareness to work on his game management and TO usage. In a tight superbowl game and with less then 2 minutes left …Bowles Vs Reid…. Who do you got ? That’s a problem

  10. AJ Says:

I’d give Dennis Allen a go as DC. If we keep Bowles and his scheme we need to go big and trade for a Maxx Crosby type pass rusher. He needs two elite pass rushing OLBs for his scheme to work. JTS is being a free agent we whiffed on him

  11. Mark Says:

Young team, and injuries, but way too many mistakes:

    – Playing Winfield on special teams vs. the Commanders, leading to a season long injury
    – Failing to prepare the team and getting boat-raced by the Broncos
    – The “code turtle” vs. Atlanta, causing the defense to spend too much time on the field and opening the door for referee shenanigans and rookie fumbles
    – Relying on the defense to win vs. KC instead of going for victory
    – Relying on the defense to win vs. SF instead of putting your best players on the field
    – Multiple clock management gaffes
    – Flat first half performances with everything on the line at Carolina and vs. Dallas, New Orleans, and Washington.
    – Endless mental mistakes, pre-snap penalties,
    – Soft zone defenses

NO CONFIDENCE that this coach understands how to fix these things, or is willing to make the changes needed to level up.

  12. Durango 95 Says:

The “No Confidence” vote is on the uptick, currently about 19%.

  13. heyjude Says:

    Still confident with Todd.

  14. Andy Says:

Its really has been hard for me to waste this year. Our offense was built to win in the playoffs. We were better than washington i dont know how can ppl feel confident with todd bowles right now. His defense is so inconsistent we made kirk cousins look like peyton manning for two games and im supposed to be confident he is the guy to lead this team next year. Im sorry but im not buying it. Also we almost blew the saints game. Luckily they woke up in the 4th quarter

  15. heyjude Says:

Bucs Fan From Philly and Tbbucs3 – 100% agree.

  16. VOT Says:

Little to no confidence that we do anything better than 8-10 wins again and get run in the 1st round

Gruden and Dungy got canned for less

  17. Steve Says:

Joe’s the only one totally confident

  18. Caleb Says:

Little confidence. His defense is regressing and his in game decision making leaves a lot to be desired.

  19. Boge Says:

I don’t understand people who are scared to move on from Todd to Liam. Was McVay a dumb pick as a 32 year old head coach? You need to get better, how does keeping the same coach with the same scheme provide any chance at improvement? He hasn’t shown the ability to coach up the areas the team is historically weak at, OLB, secondary.

He’s a former safety, with his hand picked secondary, we’ve paid top dollar to keep all of the players he’s developed and this is the worst pass D I’ve seen. As bad or worse than the Smiths. Add in his apparent disinterest in an outside pass rush, what am I missing?

Joes using the word “frolic” is an understatement. Where’s’ the accountability?

  20. Tye Says:

This site is a micro sample…
Get out and find more people so done with Bowels than people who think Bowels is one to keep!

  21. Hearty Dikerson Says:

“Bowles brings stability. .500 team, and division titles and playoff births.”

I think this statement sums up what separates the pro-Todds from the anti-Todds.

Clearly some of you have the same mentality as Bowles, and are okay with consistently being .500. Play it safe, stay comfortable with familiarity, scared that the next coach might fail.

Most of us don’t fall into this category. We’re not happy with mediocrity and are willing to risk a change for the better. We want Super Bowls.

  22. Tye Says:

    @Hearty…. You nailed it!

Some of us have been around for decades and tired of this settle for not being the worst mentality…

Seen way to many season the Bucs went nowhere…
Time to go get a coach that can be a winner more than here an there to hopefully get deep in the playoffs in the last decade or few we have left!

  23. Oxycondomns Says:

answered the same as i did last weeks poll before the game. well coached teams dont lose so many close games

  24. Buc4evr Says:

My assessment of Bowles has been unwavering throughout the season. The guy is full of excuses and will never get this team back to the SB. If you want a team that doesn’t live up to expectations, stays around .500 and can’t beat good teams on a regular basis, then Bowles is the coach for you. For me, I will always vote “No Confidence” when it comes to Bowles until he can prove me wrong.

I would take Gruden back before Bowles. Gruden may eventually burn down the house, but he would get the Bucs back to the SB first.

  25. BuckyBuc Says:

    Yea, todd can go.

  26. Lol Says:

Still little confidence after 3 years. Todd has shown he isnt a SB pedigree Head Coach. What will he do to change?

If Coen leaves this hiring cycle, I would pull the plug on Todd and go after BB.

If Coen is back then run it back and give Todd one last year to break through his ceiling

  27. Davenport Says:

Confident that the team will be in the hunt for a playoff spot

No confidence that it will get past round 1 of the playoffs

So — what’s the point of keeping him around? Has our measurement of success dropped that much?

  28. Casual Observer Says:

Confident that if the Bucs come to a choice between Bowles and Coen, that they should choose Coen.

  29. 13 HOF Says:

Please answer this question? WHY keep Bowles?

  30. BakerFan Says:

Here is a poll question…. SHOULD BUCS TRADE BAKER MAYFIELD SINCE SO MANY THINK THE LOSS(ES) ARE ALL ON HIM.

Give it a shout out Joe and lets see what the masses(asses) have to say.

  31. NYbucsfan Says:

Todd balls is terrible coach. People say oh we lack defensive talent over the last 5 years how many defensive linemen or defensive backs have we drafted? Really what this team lacks is someone to develop that defensive talent.

  32. D-Rome Says:

    Bucs Fan From Philly

Spot on. There’s no one available who’s better. If there was then Jason Licht would have fired Bowles and hired that guy. Look how many teams have fired their coaches over the past 4 years and they’re STILL struggling and trying to find the right coach.

Some of you troglodytes think NFL Head Coaches are easy to find.

  33. ElioT Says:

I’m confident we’ll see Vita Vea’s snaps at ILB increase next year.

I have a serious case of IBS (Irritable Bowles Syndrome).

  34. Kenton Smith Says:

Now I lay me down to sleep… I pray the….No, this forum doesn’t need religion. Sorry. But if I was praying it would be a prayer of gratefulness. Grateful that the Glazers and Licht and Bowles are in charge of this team and not the mental midgets that seem to be in the majority here.

  35. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Kenton….AMEN!

    DRome…amen to you as well.

To the nattering nabobs of negativity.

Coen COULD be the next great OC. He certainly was an improvement over his predeccessors…WOW…Dave Canales and Leftwich! Like Canales Baker having a career season certainly was HUGE in Coen’s success. I’d like at least one more year before I annoint Coen.

IF he is a great OC read Rick Stroud this morning to get the list of AWESOME OC’s who blew big chunks when they became HC. IE Great OC’s are not automatically great HC’s.

And then there’s the part I choke on as the son of a bookie. NUMBERS.

13…THIRTEEN Buc HC’s but only FOUR of them having winning records coaching the Bucs. It’s BA and Dungy clearly leading the “pack” of four with Bowles currently edging out Chuck for the 3rd spot.

    That’s a 70% FAILURE RATE!!!

Cool your jets. Todd has improved record wise all three seasons. If he continues along his current trajectory that’ll be 11 this year 12 the next.
If he doesn’t hit those benchmarks and do well in the playoffs then yeah he’ll be shown the door and I agree with that.

  36. StormyInFl Says:

Todd Bowles is Marvin Lewis, part 2.

Good enough to squeak into the playoffs. Also good enough to miss out on top tier draft choices. Not good enough to get very far.

  37. Joe in Michigan Says:

D-Rome, Todd Bowles winning percentage as a HC is actually lower than some of the truly elite HC’s in NFL history, such as Lovie Smith, Dave Wannstedt, Jerry Glanville, and Bill O’Brien.

  38. stpetebucsfan Says:

    JinMichigan

Did any of those coaches ever work for Nepobaby Johnson? Again somehow Todd managed to win with them, and he didn’t have Aaron Rodgers.

If you wish to use total records then you have to consider Belichick without Brady because he had ten years with two franchises without Brady including literally the same team the year after Brady left and his numbers are WORSE than Todd’s.

Was Gruden elite? Subtract just ONE season when he had an historic HOF level defense..how many now 4 or 5 of those guys on D are now in the HOF. How many of Todd’s defenders do you suppose will reach the hall..Winfield perhaps if he gets truly healthy? LVD for sure. Anybody else I’m leaving out?

Without those guys Chucky’s record 45-51 sucks compared to Bowles. Is that not relevant at all?

I don’t think comparisons are going to help your cause. Most here dislike Bowles on “style” points and yes some mistakes. BA is the Bucs all time winningest coach…like BB he had Brady to help, but even BA made some mistakes. So it’s not about mistakes. It’s about STYLE…lack of charisma..stoic sideline demeanor and yeah..ahem about something else for some a minority of these guys. A group btw that does not include you.

  39. Pewter Power Says:

If Bowles can’t be loyal to the team I love above all else then he’ll never get my vote of confidence. He’s too comfortable and his coaches are too old plus they aren’t doing a good job developing talent. If a head coach can’t let go of an assistant not doing a good job because their friends and have worked together for a long time then you’re not putting the franchise first so not sure why I’d respect that when your pass defense sucks for longer than two years

  40. AJ Says:

    @stpetebucsfan

Belichick’s record was bad because he had Mac Jones and an old Cam Newton. I can almost guarantee u with this Bucs squad we’d be better off with him over Bowles. You need to look at context. Our division sucks. If we were in the AFC East we’d be 5-12. We have legit players idk y people think our squad is awful. Bucky, McMillian, Godwin, Evans, David, Wirfs last four r potential future hall of famers. Wirfs is the best tackle in football. Please stop making excuses for bad coaching. He’s underachieving on defense with the players we have. Our defense has some solid pieces they arent all scrubs. Hall, JTS, Kancey, Vea are all 1st or 2nd rounders. Dean and Mccollum are decent corners. Winfield was overpaid but he’s a top safety regressed a bit this year.

  41. stpetebucsfan Says:

” Our division sucks. If we were in the AFC East we’d be 5-12.”

WOW JUST WOW. The AFC EAST sucked this year and one of the reasons was the dang team Belichik left behind. The Jets and Patriots COMBINED did not win as many games as Bowles by himself. The Dolphins had some talent so perhaps you could compare them to Atlanta.

Dean has talent, how many games did he play? Winfield is an All Pro how many games did he play. McCollum is a young guy who indeed has come into his own and had to anchor the back of the D.

Who was the other LB besides LVD? The back end of the Bucs defense sucked this year due to injuries!!! The front did not and they turned in decent numbers. Britt is not a starting NFL LB!!

Belichik had TEN years not just Cam Newton and Mac Jones. What was his excuse in year one with the Pats or the four of five years he sucked in Cleveland. You can spout your OPINION but you don’t get to make up “facts”.

  42. Badbucs Says:

2/3 have little to no confidence. That is a fair assessment of the general malaise associated with the Bowles regime. To the minority Bowles supporters, you are welcome to espouse your love and affection. There are some positives to support your position. Todd was given a raw deal to shepherd the team through dead cap hell with inferior players. He did an admirable job of winning a more than respectable amount of games under less than ideal circumstances. Unfortunately his weaknesses were also exposed time after time. The amount of winning, however, does not give the Todd supporters any mandate to assert some sort of moral authority over those
of us who wish to take the gamble and move on. You can shelter yourself in your little Todd the turtle shell of mediocrity forever. The majority of us are ready to take on a new direction. You Toadies could be right. Maybe Todd is the best choice. BUT, he could also waste the new beginning of an era. Safe is death. Bowles will never change. We’re done with code turtle. Glazers and Licht are smart. They may chose the scared to fail route that ensures mediocrity. But it wouldn’t surprise many of us if they embrace the “no risk it no biscuit” philosophy that earned the last superbowl. This team is being built to excel for a few years. Are we going to save all our time outs. Kick field goals and punt every 4th and 2? Is that the Bucs you want? Lay back down in your coffin. The rest of us want to embrace the future. Go Bucs!!!

  43. Saskbucs Says:

Bowles did call a good game in the SB but let’s not forget that A- he didn’t have HC responsibilities also and B- Chiefs OL was decimated, they started 2 backup tackles and their weaknesses matched up perfectly with our strengths.

There is a SB winning coach sitting at home actually, his name is Pete Carroll. Belichick was a possible option as well. Anyway, not saying I want those guys but Canales went to Carolina that has absolutely no depth, barely any talent and he was going toe to toe with us and KC. What he win .. 3-4 games? I’d wager almost anything Carolina has the #1 pick again, maybe 2 wins with Bowles leading that squad instead of a talented team with a top 5 O.

Joes post about other teams in bottom pass D moving on from their HC and/or DC and instantly moving up a minimum of 8 spots in the rankings. That should tell you everything you need to know about why moving on makes sense. Those new hires weren’t SB winners and got better results right outta the gate. But by all means let’s give Bowles one more year and watch him botch it. Watch him turn a 13 win club into an 11 win club but we will celebrate cause it’s one more win than last year! Hooray guys!

  44. Saskbucs Says:

I also love how some of you are calling out trolls or idiots in the minority. You guys don’t read polls so well hey… 63.93% of the hundreds of fans polled have little to no confidence.

  45. Monty Says:

Time to move forward with a new coach, secondary& line backing roster.special teams underperformed as well.the d line and offense got the bucs in the playoffs, horrible play call at the 15 yard line liem! Bucky needed more carries.

  46. firethecannons Says:

Bucs need to keep Coen, Todd Bowles is expendable. Keeeping both is acceptable but we need to make a splash in FA, we need edge and linebacker

  47. GoneGator Says:

Coen will probably not get many more calls for interviews. For awhile he was looking like a genius but the overall body of work with the offense this year was a little uneven. He was adaptable but may have done more adapting than necessary. I suspect he mis-managed some of the personnel too. A lot of hero ball by players, mainly Baker kept the offense moving or scoring points in quite a few games.

    Todds staying. Period.

I don’t hate the idea of Todd replacing staff if it’s needed. I don’t hate the idea of Todd turning over the defense to a new D.C. and just being the Head Coach if it’s needed. But Todd will be back and so will Liam, BET
