The Man Who Led The Charge To Keep Liam Coen
January 23rd, 2025This might rattle the cages of the “Fire Bowles; Promote Coen” crowd, or those already hatching plans for ways to nudge Team Glazer to can Todd Bowles a year from now.
From the fingertips of FOX NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the man inside One Buc Palace who hounded Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht and Team Glazer to find a way to keep Coen was the very same person who hounded Licht to sign Baker Mayfield two years ago.
That would be Bowles.
Bowles aggressively worked behind the scenes with Team Glazer and Licht to find a way, so Coen didn’t bolt for the first head coaching offer available.
When Coen landed a second interview with the Jags, Team Glazer, checkbook in hand, pounced off the top rope Randy “Macho Man” Savage style with Elizabeth (Licht) watching ringside.
So for those who want to run Bowles for having the nerve to win 10 games, the very reason many fans are hung over today from partying last night because Coen stayed with the Bucs, it was Bowles himself who helped make sure that Coen was taken care of.

Classy guy. Classy coach. Now lets see what happens with the tools to fix the defense now that the team is out of salary cap purgatory.
January 23rd, 2025 at 6:31 am
Ok great. Bowles had a hand in keeping Cohen. He had good reason to. Regardless in my opinion Bowles’ career will depend on what kind of defense he fields next season. We would love to see Todd succeed and take this team to the next level and he’s going to get his chance to do just that.
January 23rd, 2025 at 6:36 am
I have said it during the season with the weekly Bowles confidence polls.
Coach Bowles has been here 3 years as a DC and 3 years as HC.
I think fans have their opinion, either we agree with each other or not it is fine.
But i dont think a win, a loss, a good performance, a bad performance, a good move like Coen staying or another decision can change the opinion everyone has if Coach Bowles is a good HC.
January 23rd, 2025 at 6:37 am
Interesting timing from an interesting source. How fortuitous. 🙂
January 23rd, 2025 at 6:44 am
March the 30th a key date!!!
January 23rd, 2025 at 6:56 am
Took a little walk down memory lane this morning. Hers a small sample out of hundreds of comments from Reddit when Todd was fired from the Jets. Really baffling Joes man crush with Todd Bowles…more there than meets the eye
C. an’t say I’ll miss him but I never hated Bowles. Sure he had poor time management on the field and played conservatively but still. Hard to hate your coach unless he’s a complete fool.
Bowles seems like a good guy so best of luck to him in the rest of his life and career, but he was an awful head coach. Awful.
No more field goal attempts in wrong situational football moments. Sweet.
Good guy, not a great coach. Wish him the best and hope that he gets another chance someday, but it was clear that NY just wasn’t the right spot for him.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:12 am
True BucU, Bowles career as of right now depends on Coen. What I think and have seen over the years is, that most successful NFL HCs career and success depends on the coordinator’s around them. See Philly. Both coordinator’s left team took a dive. This year they hire different coordinator’s from last year we can see the results. The same with the Rams. Even the might Chiefs and A.Reid, heck of an offense but the defense wasn’t very good. Bring in Spags as DC now 2 or 3 Super Bowls
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:12 am
Bucben quoting Reddit, which as well all know if full of really accurate predictions and guys who know ball.
Lmao might as well ask the NYT opinion column for their prediction on Bowles.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:13 am
I think all of this goes in line with my opinion of TB. He is a good coach. He’s not awful, he’s not great. He is good and our team will always be good with him leading.
As much as I appreciate everything he has done and will do for the team, I feel it will take another coach to take the next step. However, I will gladly wear the dunce cap if he leads us to a Lombardi.
Either way, he is the type of person you want as part of your organization. In terms of culture he is top notch, and you always want those people in the building in some capacity.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:17 am
CYA
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:17 am
It would be in the team’s best interest to groom a young, internal, DC to coach for many years with Coen.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:18 am
Nice they re-signed Coen and I don’t doubt that Bowles supported that move. But, what the Glazers did was the minimum. They simply kicked the can down the road and in doing so afforded themselves another year to observe Coen and see how he fares in his 2nd year. Makes sense, to a point. Next year, short of Bowles leaving, they will face same scenario.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:18 am
Will be very interesting to see how the Lions play next season after losing their highly sought after offensive coordinator. The Glazers will be paying close attention too i assume.
If the Lions fall off and underperform and Coen gets more interviews next coach hiring cycle, the Glazers may be forced to make a decision, even if it’s right after another 10 wins and an NFC South division title.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:19 am
Bowles may be better suited for Assistant GM. Doesn’t Tampa have an opening?
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:24 am
All the Todd Bowles lovers can get their panties in a wad…the bucs did win 10 games this year that’s true but they should have won at least 3 more. Poor defensive scheme and clock management hurt this team. You can cry a river about the fumble against Washington but the game was tied with almost 5 minutes left and Todds defense couldn’t get off the field. From the time that Todd was fired by the Jets till last week seems little has changed
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:32 am
I can live with Bowles as the head coach, but I want him to hire a fresh set of ideas guy to actually run the defense.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:37 am
The draft will help. Get that Sawyer kid from Ohio state.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:38 am
Scary that it took Bowles for the Bucs org to realize Coen was worth keeping. Or maybe Bowles saving Coen is just hyperbole? Let’s hope it’s the latter.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:42 am
Nobody lifted a finger or checkbook to keep Canales last year for good reason. At least Tepper has to pay Canales for years.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:51 am
He knew he was looking at a 5 win season without coen n that O to bail that terrible defense out
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:01 am
“Skilled negotiator.”
—
I can only assume Joe’s question mark key is broken.
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:02 am
You have to give Bowles credit for, first, recognizing the need to fire Lefty, then hiring Canales, then hiring Coen. Bravo Bowles!
Now, I am hoping the opportunity to hire a solid replacement for Kacy Rogers will be of similar magnitude. The middle of the DL has been solid. But Rogers failure to develop an EDGE with the talent he has be given warrants not having his contract renewed. Keep us posted on this Joes. This could be an exciting development for 2025.
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:03 am
Bucben1961 – It has nothing to do with being a Todd Bowles lover. Speaking the truth and supporting Bowles against you ridiculous and unrealistic HATERS has more to do with knowing the talent isn’t on the team yet to crucify Bowles for not winning 12 or 13 regular season games and being this dominant team yet that at minimum goes to the NFC Championship Game!!! In a lot of ways Todd Bowles has led this team, while rebuilding on the fly, to OVER ACHIEVEMENT based on the current personnel! I look for big things in 2025 which is realistic and on schedule 🚩🏴☠️🚩🏆🏆🏆🏈‼️
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:06 am
Bowles wouldn’t have a job right now if it wasn’t for the Bhcs offense and Liam Coen. Damn right he wouldn’t want to lose a good OC and be on his 4th OC in 4 years
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:12 am
5 out of the last 7 drafts the bucs took defensive players and I’m sure Todd being a defensive prodigy was heavily involved so why is he getting a pass?
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:16 am
The NFL is a pass happy league not suited to Todd’s conservative run stopping philosophy
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:19 am
Bowles makes a lifesaving move.
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:25 am
Hope Coen does, which a think he will sign his new contract. Waiting to see if Bowles tweak the defense but looking forward to the draft and next season. I love reading fans opinions thoughts and suggestions on this site however, I hate when people get pissed with others because they support someone weather it’s Bowles, Mayfield or whoever. You like or give credit to whoever you want, we all do it so why should I be pissed at someone who may support or don’t support Bowles or Mayfield. That is your freedom to thoughts and opinions
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:39 am
A pass is warranted because the Bucs don’t pick high in the draft so most of the REAL studs go to other teams and the Bucs have yet to spend any REAL money on top FAs to be dominant like you unrealistic fools demand!!! Plus the draft misses need to be directed at Jason Licht more so than Todd Bowles
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:46 am
Thank the Lord the Glazers live in the real world plus they have the REAL facts and don’t listen to the stupid chatter!! Glazers stay the course that’s why they own a franchise that continues to accend 🚩🏴☠️🚩🏈‼️
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:53 am
28-27
Show me a Bowles supporter and I’ll show you a loser.
He should be fired immediately and bring in a real HC.
Otherwise we’ll have this same conversation year after year.
Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
January 23rd, 2025 at 8:58 am
This website beclowns itself with Bowles pats on the back. He’s an awful, average coach with a lousy record but sure keep telling us otherwise.
1. Bowles hasn’t been “awful” with the Bucs.
2. Bowles has been above average with the Bucs.
3. Can Bowles improve? Joe has no clue and Bowles may have reached his ceiling. –Joe
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:01 am
Yet, he can’t seem to scheme up pass defense…
IN
A
PASSING
LEAGUE
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:02 am
Bowles fully understands the O saved his job.
With a more pedestrian O this team is well below .500 and Bowles gets the apple and roadmap.
Bowles owes Coen.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:04 am
We need 30 plus points per game…
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:08 am
Bowles had to scheme the way he did because of lack of manpower.
Sirvocea Dennis was a HUGE loss to start the season.
Injuries to damn near everyone in the secondary also hurt.
I think to just get ten wins was a GREAT job by Todd Bowles and staff.
This team can make a Superbowl run filling in a few holes .
Draft needs and free agency .proven edge rusher, cornerback inside linebacker, guard.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:12 am
I’m going to be positive all offseason, and hope that he really does reflect on his defensive calls.
I’ll never be satisfied with giving a 10 yard cushion to receivers on third and short, and he shouldn’t be either. And if he rewatches the commanders game, it will be clear to anyone where they are going with the ball beforehand.
Maybe he and the new D coordinator will figure it out? hint hint.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:14 am
The Glazers are Bowles supporters!!!! According to YOU the all knowing they are LOSERS 👁️👁️‼️
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:19 am
Excellent. I have said forever I like Bowles as a DC. Because of that I did not want to get rid of him. I did make it perfectly clear though, if it came down between the young offensive guru or the aging average head coach but very good DC, do what you have to to keep Coen.
Glad it worked out and hopefully the stability is there for a few years
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:22 am
The truest statement Joe ever made on this site can be found a few comments above.
“Joe has no clue”
Same guy that absolutely loved and defended the turnover machine Winston.
You know, the QB that has never won a playoff game!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:25 am
Joe is wrong. Bowles has been awful. His defense is one of the worst in the league and he is also one of the worst coaches in the league on game day. He has been spared by the excellent job Jason Licht has done to construct one of the most talented rosters in the league and he has a brilliant OC.
Bucs are going to be a good team next year too, but Bowles has held this team back. When Malcolm Glazer got rid of Tony Dungy, he got rid of one of the best defensive minds in the game to get the team over the hump by getting one of the best offensive minds in the game. Coach Bowles is well respected, and I think ownership, the roster and front office all like him, but his scheme does not work anymore at the level needed to win a Super Bowl. Getting rid of Coach Bowles promoting Liam Coen and bringing in a new DC is much more likely to improve this team than for it to be worse.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:26 am
Nobody in this organization needed Coen more than Bowles so he should have been doing the most to keep him since Coen was kind enough to save his job.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:29 am
Not even gonna read the comments for this one…. Let me guess “ blah, blah blah, Fire Bowles, blah blah blah”
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:40 am
Bucs fans will give no credit to Todd Bowles whatsoever, but place 0 blame on Jason Licht who’s had 10 years to draft a pass rusher and the best he can come up with is a role player in Yaya Diaby……Not to mention, gave two massive contracts to two bad injury prone corners.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:40 am
Maybe he can use his pull to find a competent DC.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:41 am
Bowles is a class act. Love that he is our coach and really supports others. We are going to have consistency next year. The Bucs will be a force!
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:43 am
Bucben1961 … ‘The NFL is a pass happy league not suited to Todd’s conservative run stopping philosophy’.
Seems like an over-generalization to me Bucben. Run defense requires a conservative philosophy IMO to be effective (protecting your gaps, sealing the edges, etc). Bucs ranked #4 in run defense (Yards Allowed) this year, but sucked at pass defense (#29 in Yards Allowed).
You know what other teams got similar results? Ravens for one (#1 in Run Defense, but #31 in Pass Defense, for a #9 rating overall in Points Allowed). Or the Steelers (#6 in Run Defense, but #25 in Pass Defense, for a #8 rating in Points Allowed). Or maybe the Lions (#5 in Run Defense, but #30 in Pass Defense, for a #7 rating in Points Allowed). They all found a ‘happy’medium’ that apparently worked for them (look at their season records).
Or take the ‘balanced’ approach (where the Run Defense and Pass Defense rank roughly equal). Raiders are a great example of what that approach yields. The Raiders were rated ‘middle of the pack’ at #15 in Run Defense and #15 in Pass Defense … for an overall defensive ranking of #25 in Points Allowed. And oh ya, their record was 4-13. Is THAT the defense you’d rather have?
Todd Bowles excessive blitzing (MY opinion) frustrates the daylights out of me because this group of defensive players wasn’t all that good at executing the blitz packages. And the result was big chunks of territory open to the pass. I’m convinced though that Bowles tried hard to ‘balance’ zone & man coverages with blitzing, but that we lacked the defensive talent (speed mostly) to be any better than the middle-of-the-pack #16 ranking that we ended up with.
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:46 am
You’d think a fan would at least root for Bowles to be successful… they’re hoping he fails… this is a different kind of hate.. its personal
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:53 am
@Joe
Apologies but I’m just triggered beyond belief. You post a simple story with FACTS behind it and people get so desperate they actually dig through Reddit morgues to find what JETS fans said after he was fired there!!! Of course never mentioning Bowles was the ONLY COACH since Ryan to win ten games.
You guys said it PERFECTLY. I can’t top it! People need to see it over and over! Could you please allow me the honor of repeating the very best post I’ve seen on this topic. YOU GUYS NAILED IT!
1. Bowles hasn’t been “awful” with the Bucs.
2. Bowles has been above average with the Bucs.
3. Can Bowles improve? Joe has no clue and Bowles may have reached his ceiling. –Joe
It looks even better in BOLD FONT!
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:58 am
Fix the pass defense Todd, or retire. Sick and tired of seeing receivers run wide open through these soft zones and how easy teams are moving the ball against this defense
January 23rd, 2025 at 9:59 am
LFG.
I’ve said it before but you have to credit this man for the coaches and QB he’s sought the last few years. For a defensive guy he seems to be a savant at offensive hires and talent acquisition lol.
We have a good organization and front office right now
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:02 am
Bowles is a good mother.
He now just needs a new DC.
Because he is the good cop so he will need a bad cop for balance.
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:09 am
Criticize Bowles all you want he’s the Bucs coach for next year. I too criticize Bowles at times but I also give him credit when it’s deserved. Okay many want Bowles gone, I really want to know who we bring in that’s a sure thing to take us through the playoffs and to the Super Bowl. With Coen, love what he did this year and very happy he returned but, can we say if he becomes the HC in 26 that we’re automatically Super Bowl winners Yes if it’s the same ole thing next season and Bowles get ran off then so be it. It’s only been 2 years for Bowles as HC because the first year was chaotic with Bowles wanting to run his offense with Arians offensive personnel. I understand the fan’s frustration I’ve been a fan since 1976 and I have seen bad to worse but, I just want to see what another year under Coen and Bowles will look like
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:14 am
Too many fans are wish-casting some unproven fantasy that Liam Coen is the next Sean McVay, Jon Gruden, Dan Reeves or Mike Holmgren (short tenured NFL OCs that went on to be Super Bowl winning HCs) instead of having a more more measured approached of seeing that many more shooting star OCs have failed as NFL head coaches like a Josh McDaniels, Adam Gase, Arthur Smith, Todd Haley, Nathanial Hackett, Freddie Kitchens, Pat Shurmur. The organization has tried to replace a tenured HC with an in-house rising star assistant twice in recent memory and both times weren’t successful (Lovie Smith->Dirk Koetter and Jon Gruden->Raheem Morris). No guarantees the third times a charm. You never know if Coen ends up like Bobby Slowik, hot commodity today and cold tomorrow depending on their team’s perceived single-season performance or unrealistic expectations of riding the coattails of a young but maturing QB (CJ Stroud).
For a franchise that has lost nearly 140 more games than its won, this half decade of sustained overall winning football hasn’t been seen since the Dungy era culminated with a Super Bowl win under Jon Gruden. In between there has been a lot a bad and forgettable football and most of it not seen or realized by a lot of what I suspect are fans who just came of age when we lucked into getting Tom Brady for a couple of seasons. Like him or not, Todd Bowles is still has the third highest winning percentage as Buccaneers head coach, a franchise that hired the likes of John McKay, Ray Perkins, Leeman Bennett, Sam Wyche and Lovie Smith (coaches who weren’t able to duplicate their previous NFL/NCAA level of success in Tampa). I’m not buying the Coen sugar-high like some folks here, because being a fan since 1979, I know better to wait and see.
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:15 am
@BucBen
That is actually pretty scare how similar those comments are to what most of us have said. I have sad myself over and over that Todd is the same exact coach now as he was 3 years ago when he took over. Nothing changed and sounds like nothing has changed since he left the Jets. Only that he now is lucky enough to coach the most talented team in the worst division in football.
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:18 am
There is going to be a big defensive talent infusion this post season. Bowles didn’t have much to work with on defense this past season. Where it was most obvious was the Dallas game. Not many Bucs defensive starters would start for the Cowboys. This was most obvious in comparing secondary’s and linebackers. Glazer’s have confidence in Bowles because he has produced 3 years of progressively better records each leading to division titles. Some might argue that in juggling defensive injuries all season, Bowles did about as could be expected.
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:42 am
“Too many fans are wish-casting some unproven fantasy that Liam Coen is the next Sean McVay”
Excellent point, SoCalBucsFan79
Coen is a great OC (wasn’t very good towards the end of the season), but regardless, the idea that so many fans think he’s a sure thing and the next Bill Walsh is nonsense.
January 23rd, 2025 at 10:57 am
@ Couch Fan
That’s the point I was trying to make… Todd Bowles is the same coach he has always been. He hasn’t morphed into something different or matured and become more situationally aware in games. He’s Todd Bowles… Thinking that somehow that’s all going to change by next season in not all that likely. And thinking that the bucs are somehow going to draft 5 or 6 new starters on defense isn’t likely to happen either. Where is the infusion of younger defensive coaches… Are we waiting for everyone else to hire who they want and then pick up the crumb’s?
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:01 am
Now, Jason! Convince Bowles that he and the Bucs will be better off with a full time Defensive Coordinator and Quality Control Coordinator. He does this kind of stuff very well. A fresh set of eyes, fresh approach and some pushback are healthy and Bowles should recognize that. Let’s go.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:02 am
Are we waiting for everyone else to hire who they want and then pick up the crumb’s?
———–
Unfortunately that is how the Glazers have operated over the years, when they make moves its usually very late in the process.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:08 am
Two points here.
Being a critic is not being a hater.
Those who are triggered and emotionally damaged by reading criticism about Bowles, get over yourselves. This is a forum, it thrives on differences of opinion. Quit throwing tantrums every time you read something besides Todd is great. What’s more old than the Bowles critics is the triggered mob who have embolisms with every critique.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:08 am
based on the current personnel! I look for big things in 2025 which is realistic and on schedule
———–
And then after the next failed season you will continue to offer the same excuses for your messiah and proclaim anyone that differs your skewed bias opinion is just a hater and racist and unrealistic and the NEXT Season will be the one LMAO. Ridiculous.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:24 am
Stpetebucsfan, it’s about enough to trigger anyone reading this this morning. But I believe Joe “has a clue” as to whether Bowles has reached his ceiling. Who gives a darn what he did in New York. All we know is since being our head coach he has increased our win total each year. And Defense Rules has brilliantly shown how a team doesn’t have to have a top ranked pass defense stats wise to win in this league. Our coach has won a championship as a player and as a defensive coordinator. And for so many here who don’t have a clue-Todd Bowles has not reached his ceiling. Not by a long shot.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:40 am
Bowles did that because it is the best way to save his job is to make sure the offense stays intact. I agree with a lot of people on here if we are going to be stuck with Bowles we need to hire a DC and Bowles can just be head coach and nothing more.
January 23rd, 2025 at 11:46 am
Kenton
Guys like you and Gone Gator and Buddha and others too numerous to mention like Jude and…I shouldn’t have started because IMHO this place is full of thoughtful well informed and DECENT human beings, are what bring me back.
I should definitely add the jjjoes as well. They are informed and measured in their takes!
Alas there are certainly some exceptions. And sadly it’s human nature…the loudest mouths always get the most attention yet are rarely correct!
January 23rd, 2025 at 12:32 pm
The people who constantly call for Bowles firing and misspell his name on purpose and just rant and rant are for the most part straight up racists and nothing else. It’s really that simple. There are a lot of racists in Florida and in general. And a lot of dumb fans too. It’s really just the way things have always been it’s just more widely reported now. It’s fine no one cares least of all Todd Bowles who is a man and a head coach of an NFL Franchise making millions a year and doing a fine job. He couldn’t care less what some couch potato who can’t see his feet thinks sitting on his couch in Brooksville. They’re just jealous. He ain’t goin anywhere.
January 23rd, 2025 at 12:33 pm
I do not have confidence in Bowles. With that said, I am glad he is back and we have Coen again. It was Coen who mattered much to me. I think the players love Bowles and like playing for him but manolive we need to beef up the defensive roster. The draft alone will not cut it so Jason Licht needs to go shopping and wheeling and dealing in FA. We need an edge rush–I like Maxx Crosby as he has a motor. Make some trades, Raiders are years out, send them a paackage deal with Kyle Trask and Rachaad White.
January 23rd, 2025 at 1:24 pm
Now Bowles just needs to swallow some pride and hire a DC.
It’s been redundantly apparent that is game and time management have been a consistently glaring issue the last several years and no doubt led to multiple lost games.
Just set aside your ego coach, a defense will still be somewhat under your stewardship but you need to stay focused squarely in the middle, hand pick someone competent of calling your plays on defense.
Also our last coach, yeah he had Tom Brady but he got us a title, what was his phrase again, oh yeah, no risk it no biscuit. I can think of many games just this year without philosophy should have been utilized, most notably, would have been the Monday night game in Kansas City. Before Tampa even scored that touchdown I was saying if they scored go for two, you’re on the road, Monday night football, 2 time defending world champs, go for the throat!
I know Tommy Kraz was saying post game that a lot of us fans second-guessing to go for the victory or tie would have been crucifying Bowles if it failed. I for one would have applauded the decision regardless of the outcome. I’d like to see a little more no risk it no biscuit from coach Bowles.
January 23rd, 2025 at 1:54 pm
A positive post on Head Coach Todd Bowles?! I’m still picking my mental pieces up off the floor. Of course, Bowles talked turkey to Coen. Coen is NOT ready to be a HC!! I called it cos I knew it. Coen is young, and he better not have “hit his ceiling” yet! He also better get with it, and grow with this developing blue ribbon Offense he’s got here. Bowles/Licht will be concentrating on the Defense, and we need a punter. Bucs are moving into position to be SCARY GOOD next season!!! We’ll know in March what Mr. Godwin will do. Please Chris, give it one more year in red and pewter. Go Bucs!!!!!!!!
January 23rd, 2025 at 3:21 pm
Give us a break… You seriously expect anyone to believe Licht & the Glazers needed Todd to convince them to keep Coen? Jesus lol. And yet he couldn’t convince them to keep/pay his #1 Asst/DL coach who has been with him basically his entire coaching career?? Really? The fact that Rodgers chose now as the time to bolt says a LOT. Curious what typre of spin is put on his departure.
January 23rd, 2025 at 3:34 pm
Another shout out to the Team 1st gang who try to see the bigger picture. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Too many to mention but I appreciate you all. Like @stpetebucfan said, you guys are the only reason I keep coming back in spite of the sad, angry blowhards that seem to be so prevelant here. There really aren’t that many in that category, they just flood every post.
Thx for including me stpete 🙏🏼
I’ve been trying but I’m getting tired…. I truly think it will never end with the close minded loudmouths. And my longer, more in depth posts never seem to make the cut 🤣
Hang in there guys
January 23rd, 2025 at 3:35 pm
Bowles understands that the only way to keep his job after 2025 is to have a successful year (past the WC round).
He needs Coen to do that.
January 23rd, 2025 at 4:19 pm
Did Shamu escape from Sea Works?
January 23rd, 2025 at 4:32 pm
I am not a fan of Bowles as a HC, but he is a good human being. If he learns to be a true CEO of the team he will hire the right people and let them do what they do best. Stay out of the sausage making and focus on the vision and making it a reality. Also, stop with the excuses. Leaders don’t make excuses they take ownership and find solutions. Do these things and Bowles will be fine.
January 23rd, 2025 at 7:08 pm
Meanwhile,
the fire TB crowd was not nearly as critical of coach Gruden when he won a Super Bowl and then proceeded to turn a championship team to a less than stellar 8-8 team. Funny, how Dungy created that Super Bowl squad gets fired, because of all the clowns on here when most have no college degrees, have no idea about analytics, and gain their knowledge about football from Sports Center and Hard Rock bet ahhhh. As I was saying, Dungy leaves wins a Super Bowl with the Colts retires as a winner and what did Gruden do with a team built for him to win after Dungy’s creation wins the Super Bowl, Nothing! Gruden got fired years later and after that the Bucs went on a losing streak that rivals the worst teams in the league. Arians, TB and TB2 comes on board and bring the wins back and now the masses want to destroy that simply because they have nothing better to do then to criticize a black coach with multiple division titles, a green thumb with hiring OCs, keeps the team winning despite major secondary injuries and lack of covering linebackers, a salary cap issue, and has the locker room. Yea fire that, let’s see where we will be then, probably these same haters will want Gruden back!

I lost all faith in the Glazers, and Jason Licht we finally believe that we had a good coach liam Coen with his offensive scoring all these record points, everything this year, a running game. And then we just let him go to the jaguars. It’s unbelievable that they would even do this to all the Tampa Bay buck fans and we’re stuck with Todd if it wasn’t for the offense, we wouldn’t even have made it to the playoffs this year. Now and now we’re going for another offensive coordinator I feel bad for all the offensive players every year. It’s a, it’s a revolving door someday. It’ll be way past my lifetime. I wouldn’t probably never get to see it, but 1 day we’ll get lucky and get an offensive coach. That’s young and will be around a long time, like Andy Reid. Mike Shanahan Payton.

In LA glazers, don’t have the smarts to make the tough calls. They should’ve just went ahead and let Todd go. He’s only got what another year at his age.Unbelievable I lost all my faith in this organization and Tom Brady is another sneaky, one stealing people from our staff. He was probably already had all this going on during a year while he was in the booth. Every time he was doing the books game, he was always talking to certain people and stuff. It just makes me sick

And another thing I hate when these idiots keep bringing up the color of people, it doesn’t matter what color the coaches are.
