The reason why the Herbstreit dog story was highlighted was because he was a likable guy for college football and the sec ball washing that he is committing has reached an all time low. His dog passed away, and he got a lot of sympathy for it, he has a new one and because of the blatant sec bias (I’m talking about saying one thing, getting called out for it and then lying when he’s getting called out for it, so bad that x community notes is stepping in) everyone is turning on him. He said Indiana, SMU, Boise State shouldn’t have made it in, Ole Miss, Bama should have made it in the playoff, because the former schools got blown out. Only Texas, Florida, and Ole Miss have won their bowl games that they had. It’s just a really bad look. That’s why OutKick did a story.

He’s also correct that most people are not overall sports fans. I used to follow basketball, baseball, and football with the occasional hockey game (even though it’s the most exciting to watch). I can’t do it any more. Perhaps it’s because I’m older with more responsibilities and perhaps it’s because I don’t want to watch sports all week and ignore my wife (something Scott Wurster in Ohio doesn’t have a problem with).
I felt for him when his dog passed away. However, when he got his replacement dog so quickly then it became evident to me the dog is a prop. I’m not saying he doesn’t love his dog. All I’m saying is that it’s a prop.
Bill Burr is correct. No surprise either. I’m Hispanic and I hate when the NBA does the Hispanic heritage month where they change the names of NBA uniforms to “Los Celtics” or things like that. No thanks, I don’t need your pandering. It’s one of many reasons why I don’t watch that league any more.

Dang got modded. I can sum up the Herbstreit quickly (and nicer) Herbstreit got sympathy for his dog passing since dogs are great, and he’s likeable. Several bad takes on SEC schools, gaslighting and overall silence about his bad takes has gotten hate. The dog shield isn’t working, which isn’t surprising. He’s getting community noted on X and name calling, which is sad he’s better than this, but MSESPN is probably making him since they have a huge contract with the SEC.

Herbstreit had always been biased AF and hates on certain conferences / schools.
Mayfield absolutely got snubbed. He definitely should have made it over Daniel’s, and his stats are as good if not better than Goff and Darnold in multiple categories (not INTs though lol). Pro Bowl is an absolute joke imo, but it does suck for guys like Evans and Lavonte when it comes to the Hall of Fame. It’s a travesty.

Burr is right to a point. Not all sports. Love NFL and NHL. College football is getting destroyed with mega conferences, NIL, and the portal
