Mike Evans Replaces CeeDee Lamb At Pro Bowl

January 27th, 2025

There’s a football reason to smile today. Mike Evans was awarded more respect.

Evans will replace injured Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb at the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, which is now a flag football and skills festival at Disney World in Orlando.

It’s Evans’ sixth Pro Bowl, thrid-most appearances in Bucs history.

Just don’t screw up an ankle, Mike.

Mike should’ve been there vs CeeDee any way…

  2. HomerSimpsonRocks Says:

    HOF

  3. Richard Dickson Says:

The Pro Bowl Games are actually held in downtown Orlando, not Disney World. And yes, there is a difference.

  4. Permanently Moderated Says:

    Exactly, BridleOaksBuc!

  5. Aqualung Says:

I hope Mike has fun and doesn’t aggravate the hammy. Wish he would have extended his middle finger at that atrocity.

  6. Durango 95 Says:

Mike is too good for this farce.

  7. Hodad Says:

Nice, good for him. Joe I’ve been wondering about how Thad Lewis is viewed by the Bucs? He’s been Baker’s QB coach for two years. He’s been with Arians, Leftwich, Canalas, and Coen. My question is why isn’t he capeable of becoming the OC? If he isn’t good enough to move up, why keep him? Seems like a bad look for him that he wasn’t promoted by now. Same with Grizzard. Why look for McVay coaches, what’s wrong with the coaches from his tree that are already here? None of this OC search makes sense. We’re passing over coaches on offense that have done a good job for us, and keeping defensive coahes like Ross, and Rapone who’ve done a horrible job the last few years. What a cluster F.

  8. Bojim Says:

Wish he would’ve refused but he doesn’t get the respect he should.

  9. Aqualung Says:

Hodad, very fair question. The answer may once again lie with the genius who occupies two huge and critical jobs for the Bucs.

  10. ATrain Says:

How was Evans not there to begin with?

    1000 yards missing 3 1/2 games
    11th season tying Rice

Please name a WR anyone would want in a “have to make it play” other than Evans

    HOF ALL THE WAY

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

Nobody watches the Pro bowl anymore. Its gone by the wayside just like the NBA all-star game. Maybe the kids still watch it though. Mike had a better year than Lamb anyway. Congrats.

  12. D Cone Says:

If Daniels from the Commano’s doesn’t get knocked out of the Playoffs yesterday
maybe Mayfield gets another appearance on players opting out. No one’s suggesting raising a middle finger at the event then. Hmm

  13. SlyPirate Says:

Evans final seasons are going to be so much fun for Bucs fans and the NFL. So many exciting records. Let’s enjoy every catch!

  14. BallHawk75 Says:

The Pro Bowl is just more proof of the farce that the NFL has become.

Flag football and fake skills contests outside of actual in game competition.

Who would want to waste their time watching this unless they’ve been lobotomized?

Much like the actual NFL these days. It’s 100% rigged.

Chiefs won their third Superbowl in a row. Bet heavy on that.

  15. heyjude Says:

So excited to watch Mike in the Pro Bowl. Hope he and his family have a lot of fun in Orlando!

D Cone – Would love to see Baker at the Pro Bowl again. He did really well last year, MVP. I think he would go again. It’s a cash bonus, $44k per player and if on the winning team they receive double that.

  16. Panhandle Buc Says:

More resume fodder for the future HOF!!! #1stballot

  17. Mike’snumber1fan Says:

Baker got freaking robbed for the pro bowl. Darnold, really 🥱

  18. heyjude Says:

Agree Mike’snumber1fan. Baker should be in it.

The clock strikes 12 twice a day and occasionally we are in complete agreement.

I totally agree with your post about a new OC, I can’t write anything better.
Thanks for saving me the time!

  22. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Jude

I like the way you think! “Hope he and his family have a lot of fun in Orlando!”

Nice to bring a little humanity to all of our “football talk”. I second your post.
I hope ME and his family enjoy themselves!!!

  23. Gipper Says:

It’s a travesty that Baker isn’t in the ProBowl this season. Particularly considering there are only 4 QB’s in the history of the game who had seasons comparable to the one Baker just had. To review the combination of Passing Yards>4500; TD’s >40; comp percentage>70% has only been accomplished by 3 other QB’s in NFL history. Mayfield and Burrow both did it this year.

  24. HC Grover Says:

    Whoop de Doo

  25. heyjude Says:

    Thank you, stpetebucsfan!

Gipper – Agreed, Baker should be there too.

  26. Rod Munch Says:

It’s amazing how they took a game on a steep decline, and turned it into something completely irrelevant. Who watches this nonsense, what is the audience for this?

  27. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

If I were a player, I would take a fine and flat out refuse to acknowledge the Pro Bowl.

    Hodad Says
“None of this OC search makes sense. We’re passing over coaches on offense that have done a good job for us…”

You are assuming they are passing over them. They may not be, but might be keeping it quiet for now.

“It’s amazing how they took a game on a steep decline, and turned it into something completely irrelevant.”

I have not watched the Pro Bowl since the first year it was not a game. At least as a game there was a little something to watch. And I HATE how they determine who is a Pro Bowler. It’s a very faulty process.

I’d rather the voting be removed completely and just go with the top performers. At least THEY earn it.

  30. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Go with the top performers in an actual game, and their ratings would explode.

  31. stpetebucsfan Says:

    Rod

“Who watches this nonsense, what is the audience for this?”

I’m sure you’re just enjoying some enjoyable venting and know the answer.

Unless that is you’re jacked about watching the premier of “The Bachelor”.

And of course there’s always the WWE. In another life I was the PA guy for the wrestling in Spartanburg SC, predates the WWE. I sat in the corner made the introductions etc. One night Rick Flair jumps out of the ring and pulls my chair from under me to begin “whaling”? on his opponent. I’m sure it was scripted but they never clued me in.

See what happens when you grow old Rod. You have ALL these memories.

  32. HC Grover Says:

    Oh Noooo!

  33. GoneGator Says:

Almost time for Red to give his intro press conference in Jax. 🍿

  34. Anyhony Says:

Rod, if you don’t watch the Pro Bowl how do you know it’s not entertaining??? It reminds me of battle of the network stars from my childhood. I just watched over 100 competitive games this year, I can make time to watch all the super stars laugh and have fun like regular people once a year and enjoy it for what it is. Pull the stick out of you azz and lighten up Francis.

  35. BradyGronk fan Says:

Why would ME refuse. Even though the voting process is a joke, it is still an honor and helps to get in the HOF. It also could enfluence bonuses. He’s a little light on the accolades. No 1st team all pro and now 6 probowls. I think if ME is injury free next season, he’ll get his 1st all pro. Yeah that’s right , he’s getting 1500+ yards and 10+ TDs.

  36. Countrybrew Says:

Evans gets robbed just like David . Both are at the top of their respective careers and once again they are on the back burner! Both are first ballot Hall of Famer’s yet they get the back burner!

  37. firethecannons Says:

Not good, wish Mike would sit it out

  38. stpetebucsfan Says:

“Why would ME refuse. Even though the voting process is a joke, it is still an honor and helps to get in the HOF.”

That’s all true as is the point Jude raised. ME and his wife have several children.
It’s time to cash in on all the hard work being a top NFL player requires.

Orlando is time for the families. Think ME and the other NFL stars get any perks and the Amusement parks for they and their families. It’s gotta be fun and NO pressure!

  39. Aqualung Says:

I’m not sure Shamu is still at Sea World, there have been orca sitings elsewhere. But they can get their blowholes blasting hundreds of feet in the air, so Orlando is worth it for the spectacle. Rumor is that Shamu can drop into deep ocean coverage like a boss. Potential future prospect for Bucs defense.

  40. Aqualung Says:

    LOL that got moderated! LMAO.

  41. heyjude Says:

I have watched the pro bowl games for years. Yes, they are cheesy at times with their simple games. The dodge ball is interesting to watch though. Thinking there are some different things they could do to make it more real, but then we wouldn’t want any of our players really hurt.

The players get a bonus, their families have a fun week in Orlando, win-win for the fans, and it shows us another side of the players that is entertaining to watch. Last year Baker got MVP and it was great to see that other side of him, plus he sat at the big table with the analysts.

  42. garro Says:

Lamb over Evans? Wow Just when you thought the Pro Bowl could not get any worse.

    Go Bucs!

  43. garro Says:

Bring back the Frisbee dogs it will be more fun than the game. Sorry Mike…

    Go Bucs!
