John Spytek Advances To Second Interview For Titans GM Gig
January 14th, 2025Bucs assistant general manager John Spytek took a leap in trying to land the Titans’ GM job, as he has now reached the second round of interviews in Nashville.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network by way of Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, it appears Spytek is in a five-person race for the job, though six men are in their second round of talks with the Titans.
So why does Joe think it’s just a five-man race? One of the six who advanced to the second round is the Bears’ assistant general manager. Really? The Bears? At first Joe thought this was a joke.
Like one of the men responsible for building one of the worst organizations in football is a serious candidate for a general manager’s job? Yeah, sure. Give Joe a friggin’ break.
Others in the running are, per Turron Davenport of BSPN, Bills director of player personnel Terrance Gray, Chiefs assistant general manager Mike Borgonzi, Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds and Packers vice president of player personnel Jon-Eric Sullivan.
Joe would hate to see Spytek go. Good guy. Clearly does good work. For Spytek’s sake, Joe hopes the Titans don’t ask Spytek about edge rushers.

I still don’t think that it’s our front office that can’t find edge rushers. I think Joe (one of you, you know who you are lol) is right that Bowles can’t develop and having them drop in coverage and doing other crap messes them up.

So it wasn’t Coen that we needed to promote to keep.
We gotta let go of Licht to keep Spytek as GM. We’re gonna go back to the Aguayo drafts without him.

I think this guy is as good as gone. It was always only a matter of time. And good for him if that’s his career goal. Obviously, he’s interviewing….

Getting a 2nd GM interview is a strong clue of getting hired. Spytek probably has the job. If so, happy for him.
Yes, where are the edge-rushers! Good one.

Hopefully, he wears Bucs gear to the interview and p!sses off little miss Adams.

Good luck to Spyteck if he gets the job but keep in mind that the Titans GM position has been a revolving door over the past few years since former Buc Director of Player Personnel Jon Robinson and the franchise is kind of rock bottom since Bud Adams daughter launched Vrabel.

Bowles has never developed an edge rusher.
Never.
Can’t blame Licht or spytek for that.
Bowles also seems to love undersized defenders at nearly every single position. I guess you can blame Licht and Spytek for going along with that though.
