Was just thinking this would be a primetime for an Ira Podcast, refresh page and Boom.

    Hallelujah

  2. Pewter Power Says:

Not Bowles job to develop but his staff isn’t. The problem is he’s not holding his coaches accountable and blaming the players he’s hand picking so I guess it’s Licht’s fault for bringing them to camp in Bowles eyes.

  3. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Miles Garrett is smart so he says all the right things but behind the scenes he wants out of Cleveland, they are an inept organization with poor ownership. The Bucs are the opposite and in the other Conference. Especially if Coen returns two number ones are worth it. Bring back Godwin and draft all defense. It doesn’t matter who the head coach is in 2026 we need better players on defense.

  4. Elite Vita Says:

Another entertaining podcast gentlemen! Lee’s outburst was gold. I humbly submit the moniker “Livid” Lee Dekemper to be used to describe our esteemed friend! Yes sir Livid Lee Dekemper!

  5. E N Says:

This was a rough one, I really can’t tell if Ira is trying to manufacture drama for the podcast or he’s that clueless. My goodness Ira, you’ve been covering the NFL for how many decades and you talk like a casual fan who doesn’t know anything.

  6. heyjude Says:

    Zestful podcast!

It sure does seem hard to find an edge rusher.

I am still all in on Bowles. Agree that defense is not complete. Give it a chance.

Injuries did catch up with us this season. Yes, find a punter.

  7. BucsFanSince93 Says:

That tantrum Joe displayed was so unnecessary. Ira was right!

  8. OrlandoBucFan Says:

Great podcast! Was the Jerry Springer moment planned or spontaneous? I try not to fall victim to binary thinking, so I’m inclined to side with Ira. I think the talent that has been drafted at edge rush has not lived up to their potential, but I acknowledge that good coaching can make a difference in player development. A good example is Anthony Nelson. Nelson is annually one of the team’s top pass rushers when it comes to sacks. Is Nelson just more talented than JTS or Hall, or has he been developed? In my opinion, it’s probably the latter, though Nelson does possess physical attributes that can’t be coached (i.e., length).

It’s a good thing that the Joe who lost is mind does not work in an occupation that requires composure, but it’s okay in journalism, I guess.

  9. Dubcity Says:

That was some crybaby stuff from a grown man..

That’s the second time on some legit disrespectful behavior to Ira who always handles it with class..

Even if someone is wrong, they’re allowed to be wrong.. its not malicious.. Ira didn’t deserve that… someone should seriously humble themselves

That joe is the same joe that screamed and cried for Manziel. Same joe that said the OL was fine before the Bucs revamped it in the offseason..

You can be wrong but you treat people like they better listen to you cause you’re a genius and they’re all.. well… you called Ira out his name so you know

  10. RagingBrisket Says:

Just as unhinged as his politics. Get a grip

  11. Finley Says:

Lee represents a lot of Bucs fans and good for him.
Can’t develop an edge rusher. And the team won’t buy one probably because Bowles doesn’t really want one badly enough.
Maybe Braswell is the guy. Yeah right.

  12. toopanca Says:

The Bucs biggest draft need is ILB, but the can hit Edge need with the same pick.

The Bucs should draft Alabama ILB Jihaad Campbell in the first round. He is the perfect complement to Lavonte David that White was supposed to be. Comparing draft profiles, Campbell is taller, heavier (stronger), and faster than Lavonte was when he was drafted. And, Campbell is a legitimate sack threat when moved to the Edge as a rusher!

In the third round, draft ILB Smael Mondon from Georgia to be David’s eventual successor and to play beside David when Campbell shifts to Edge. Mondon is even faster than Campbell; fast enough to shift to corner or safety as Bowles hides his coverage and rushes.

With a healthy Dennis back and a proven veteran like Deion Jones on a bargain contract, the Bucs can use two draft picks to turn an essential element of the defense that was weak for much of 2024 into a position of strength in 2025 while also adding a real Edge threat.

  13. Mord Says:

Wow. That was quite a tantrum. And over what? The semantics around who gets credit for player development? That’s really worth melting down and storming off? I’d think that’s the kind of topic a professional would simply agree to disagree about, but ok. And wow.

  14. Mord Says:

Btw, fwiw, etc, I also and otherwise totally agree that edge rush desperately needs improving this offseason. .. but jeez.

  15. Boge Says:

Go back and look at Shaqs numbers in Denver. 5.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles his rookie season and he wasn’t a starter. 14 sacks in 4 years behind miller and Chubb. Denver had two studs, no need to pay shaq. It seems obvious he was ready for a breakout, just needed an opportunity. Lee 1, Ira 0

  16. B Says:

Passionate about the game and this team is well and yea we’re all adults- but it really bothers me when you yell at Ira. Remember when you did it last time. You can’t give the man all those epithets and then start treating him like your uncle at thanksgiving. Stop it. (P.S. I actually agree with you about the edge rusher)

  17. Todd Bowls Says:

I wish our head coach had Lee’s passion and displayed some anger more often. Perhaps if some of these players realize that average is not good enough to go deep into the playoffs they will work harder to reduce mental mistakes.

Don’t think they can make themselves physically better unless they train and improve their diet (I’m looking at you, All Pro DL Vita Vea..great job losing weight and playing with more stamina) or add muscle ithe weight room (Luke Goedecke and Cody Mauch have bulked up to Wirf’s like status… Time for our C to hit the weight room

  18. Colin in Canada Says:

I agree with Lee that Bowles has not developed an Edge Rusher. But it is the Ira Kaufman podcast hahaha. Its going to be a long offseason hopefully you guys can stick together.
