Ira, Steve, and Lee. Love it. Got to remind everyone though that while Barton made a mistake on the snap, there was still no guarantee that a TD would be the outcome of that drive without that mistake.
Totally agree with Ira’s take on Calijah. Can’t wait to see him play for a full year.
Absolutely love the repartee between the three of you.

I finally climbed out of my 1.75 of Bulleit Rye and I’m still disgusted with Sunday…
Trade for Miles Garrett and draft all defensive players. Bowles isn’t the worst coach we’ve had but he’s hit his ceiling IMO. You don’t fire him for the sake of firing someone BUT start looking for door number two.

  3. BallHawk75 Says:

The Bucs pass defense was in the bottom 4 teams of the NFL two years running.

That tells you everything you need to know.

Either the players are wrong for the scheme or the scheme is wrong for the players. Maybe both.

The coach is there to ameliorate that situation. Clearly he is not capable.

    Conclusion: Fire Bowles immediately!

I say give Bowles one more year with an improved defensive roster. Licht did an awesome job reloading the offense. Now it’s time to work on the defensive side of the ball. It’s unfortunate though that we’re probably 5 or 6 players away. Tough to do in one draft and one free agency.

I don’t agree with letting Coen off the hook for the Washington loss.
Where was S Tucker? He only got a few Special Teams plays.
They took R White out of the mainstream of the offense and made him a kick returner?
McMillan gets more snaps than Evans?
Changing the personnel groupings for a playoff game doesn’t make much sense.

  6. Pewter Power Says:

Falling asleep in the first half of games is not a new unless the 2020 game when Tyreek Hill racked up 203 yard in the first quarter doesn’t count. It’s just so common the fans are numb

    Thanks man. Much appreciated. 👍

Hey Ira write a primer on how we lose one and done.

Some stats for Ira, the Joe’s, and the fans that are important to the convo on Bowles

2 out of the top 10 passing defenses are still in the playoffs: Eagles and Houston

2 out of the 3 teams with a worse pass defense are still in the playoffs: Ravens and Lions

There are more playoff teams at the bottom of this list than at the top. Thats because teams that score points force other teams to pass the ball more.

Now a stat that one of the Joe’s will LOVE. 4 of the top 10 defenses in terms of yards gave up more TDs than the Bucs.. as this Joe always says: “it’s about points”

Bucs defense bends, gives up yards, and hopes to give up FGs instead of TDs.. thebsame strategy they used when they won the Superbowl.

Give Bowles the pieces and he’s proved what he can do already. No question to me he can do it again.

We all knew what the pass rush situation was going in, if the argument is he cannot identify pass rushers in the draft or that it’s a weakness on his team, well I cannot argue that, but it’s obvious to anyone with eyes that the pass rushers are not it.

Giants have 3 good pass rushers.. they have a history trading w the Giants. Something I would consider.

    Great podcast!

I also think SirVocea did a good job when he played. Good guy and am hoping he has a full recovery.

Unfortunately, not surprised with the new polls. I still stand behind Todd and the Glazers. Todd has done a good job and you never know who you will get as a new coach and who they will bring in with them. Agreed, Todd was the one that got us Baker. Todd liked him while coaching the Jets. He is great with hiring. He brought in Coen and Canales. Canales now being a HC and Coen could be a HC somewhere soon.

Looking forward to the Bills game too. Grew up as a Bills fan in Upstate NY. They are my 2nd team after our Bucs. I do have family in MD too. Respect the Ravens. Going for the Bills. Remembering those Jim Kelly days and hoping to erase that memory now.
