Happy Mike Evans Day!

January 10th, 2025

Honored.

How are you celebrating Mike Evans Day?

Perhaps Joe should drop money on Evans’ foundation in honor of his day. He’s done so much for folks in the area. That seems fitting.

After all, Evans has given and is giving Bucs fans plenty of highlights for the past 11 years.

Today, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Bucs fan himself (he’s from Dunedin), declared today “Mike Evans Day.” DeSantis even had a proclamation about Evans. You can see it below.

Pretty cool. Not every day a football player has a statewide day named after him (at least for a day) to honor what he has meant to the Tampa Bay community.

You can see the proclamation below.

So, how do you plan to honor Evans today?

Now that I know this, I’ll go put on my M1K3 shirt right now.

My wife sent me a link for a t-shirt that you can buy this shows a photoshopped image from the movie Step Brothers. Shows Mike Evans head as the brother in the back where Will Ferrell’s head normally goes. Baker Mayfield’s head is in the front we’re John C Reilly’s head used to be. It’s hilarious with the argyle v-neck sweaters and everything. A phenomenal t-shirt idea.
I put a link here to it but I don’t know if that’s allowed. 😆

    Class act by DeSantis.

  7. Mort Says:

Should’ve done it on 1/3, but a week late is pretty good for a politician. Congrats Mike!

  8. Boomer Says:

    Not cool – 🤢🤮

  9. Bojim Says:

    Well DeSantis actually became human.

  10. Jonny Says:

Boomer must be a tribal lib to not be happy about an honor bestowed on to our favorite Bucs player.

  12. Chef Baker Says:

The Bucs had a drive thru fan swag grab today. I got through it pretty quick but there were lots of fans there. Cool to find out they had this event the same day it’s been declared Mike Evans day. What an awesome thing for governor desantis to do for our class act of a team player of our beloved buccaneers!! Congrats Mike!! Go Bucs!!

  13. Jt Says:

Mike Evan’s has been an awesome player for the Bucs. I don’t personally know about his charitable giving but if it’s as advertised he deserves lots of credit. That said, I won’t forget his kneeling during the anthem. Maybe just chalk it up to a guy in his late 20’s with a lot in his mind.

  14. SenileSenior Says:

Mike is a class act, both as a star wide receiver and as a citizen. He deserves accolades.

  15. Vanessa Anne Says:

    This is wonderful!

    I’m thrilled for Mike!!

It isn’t often that the Governor of a state will issue a proclamation about an athlete. I’ve certainly never seen or heard of anything like this before.

It’s an honor and a testament to who Mike is both on and off the field.

    Congratulations, Mike!!! 🙂

Is it Mike Evans day every January 10th from here on out?

  17. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Hey BakerfanboitilUDie this is about a Bucs player who’s been with this team for 11 seasons who’s done more for the people of Tampa Bay and also had been our greatest offensive player ever drafted. What has Baker really done since here that is greater than Mike? You guys who follow this man wherever he goes have the nerve to throw shade on a Bucs player. Get out of her you’re not a Bucs fan

  18. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

That’s pretty cool. I didn’t even know but I wore my Mike Evans jersey to work today. I also put up a “Go Bucs” slide in my lesson (I teach high school).

  19. Cometowin2 Says:

Mike Evans Day! The only thing that would make this better is if Mike gets the Walter Payton “Man of the Year”!

  20. Kieran Says:

    HOF awaits

  21. BradyGronk fan Says:

Only one more 1000 yard season passing Jerry Rice for sole possession of consecutive 1000 yard years should cement him in the HOF eventually.

It could be difficult but four more 1000 season will pass Jerry Rice. And if he does that then retires, having 1000 yards for a whole career over 15 years would be unbeatable and make him a 1st ballot HOFer. There are only four 1st ballot HOF wrs. Terrell Owen’s got in on the third try.
