Ferocious Finish By Mike Evans
January 13th, 2025The Buccaneers’ gameplan in last night’s crushing playoff loss was not to pump the football into Mike Evans early and often.
Perhaps it should have been.
Joe’s a big fan of using a healthy Hall of Famer in his prime. Evans had seven targets and caught all of them — 7 catches for 92 yards and a touchdown, and he drew a flag.
That’s just not enough targets for a receiver who overmatched cornerback Marshon Lattimore all game. Everything was on the line, and Joe would have liked to see more Evans.
The Bucs didn’t throw Evans the ball on their final drive, which ended in a short field goal to tie the game at 20.
Regardless, Joe is so encouraged to see Evans finish this season strong. What a final stretch he had for a 31-year-old with 11 years of NFL mileage on his legs.
Evans doesn’t look like a guy slowing down, and that bodes very well for the Bucs next season. He’s irreplaceable, and it looks like the Bucs will get another season of No. 13’s best.

Problem is Coen leaves for a hc spot and Godwin could follow!

Hope we get a healthy Godwin back as well. I hate the thought that he may have played his last game with us. But J-Mac will also need snaps to continue to grow.

With Godwin and a new DC this team wins a Superbowl

Glazers better not lose Liam and Chris at our expense with primetime Todd

Evans was the best part of this game. It was actually the most boring playoff game I’ve ever attended. They won’t fire Bowles and probably shouldn’t, but if they did, I’m not sure anyone would be upset.

The Oline will have been together for a year and an off season. But as long as we have the same DC I can’t imagine us going any further than we did this year.

The offense was the bright spot this year.
Baker was a top 5 QB while missing weapons and lineman.
The rushing game went from worst to top 10.
The Defense….. Its been the samething we’ve seen for the passed 3 years.

Dear Todd Bowles,
Thank you for everything you did for us these past seasons. But I believe it is best we part ways. Even I a fan with limited football knowledge know the vita vea blitz play where he drops into coverage. Also your defensive scheme sucks. Best of luck to your future endeavors.

I don’t think Godwin will be back next year. I can’t see Licht spending another 20-25M on WR, given the state of our defense. Goedeke (sp?) is going to get extended for 20M or so, Kancey will need to get paid next year. I like Godwin, but there’s a reason we drafted McMillan. So unless we get a sizeable hometown discount, I don’t Chris in our future.

Need some “Please retire Todd” billboards along 275 dawnish

@TheScourge
Evans is the best part of every game. When we get him involved, we are successful. When we don’t, we generally struggle.

Truly elite defensive schemes adapt to whatever schemes the offense runs. Bowles just uses the same scheme on every offense it seems like.

Certainly didn’t use him enough. He was getting open with ease, although they seemed to give him more attention 2nd half. That should have been Otton time or pony package time.
I was worried about Godwin returning but not so much anymore. Would save the Bucs money to bring him back otherwise just eating like 18 million in dead cap. Gotta be serious about winning now and kick that can down the road.

Simeon4HOF: Yeah I was thinking about how the Gator alumni had the “Fire Zook billboard back in the day and how a radio station here in Tampa around 1989 or so (Power Pig 93?) had a billboard which showed a screw and the name Hugh, in reference to the owner of the time; Mr Culverhouse when he was toying with idea of moving games to Orlando. I wish some rich Bucs’ fan would do a billboard concerning the head coach.

The Commanders started doubling Mike after they saw Lattimore wasn’t him any more.

When Mike was walking off after the game, my heart sank. His face told it all. He had a good game and could have had a better game. This wasn’t the way for the season to end. So disappointed.

TE was underutilized this
game.

I was screaming at the TV on the final drive… “Go to Mikey!”
January 13th, 2025 at 10:11 am
We only had so many snaps on offense. He got some early then was doubled. Could have run the ball more too. The fact wash converted so many 3rd and 4th downs meant only so many balls to go around that game

I think Myron Coen shat the bed with his game plan.

CG was on pace for approx 1400yds and 15+ Tds. Would suck to lose that. Even if you take off 25% of production.
