Bucs Named To Pro Bowl

January 2nd, 2025

The Pro Bowl roster has been announced. Joe knows you cannot go on with your life post-holidays without knowing this.

And the Bucs will be represented by two players: Vita Vea and Tristan Wirfs were named.

Alternates include Baker Mayfield, Lavonte David (finally) and Mike Evans. Also, kicker Chase McLaughlin found his way as an alternate.

Maybe this means David is finally close to getting some national recognition, although a few times in his strong year he looked like a linebacker in his mid-30s.

The Pro Bowl Games festivities will be held in Orlando the week of Jan. 26. The “game” itself will be held on Feb. 2.

  1. BucVoyager Says:

All of them deserved it. If Bucky had started earlier in the season, he had a chance.

  2. Mike Says:

Several of the O-Line are top tier and wouldn’t be surprised to see their name in the future. Winfield will get there again once healthy. Hoping Kancey elevates to Pro Bowl caliber in the next year or two. He’s got the talent, but needs to stay healthy.

  3. heyjude Says:

Thank you, Joe. Great to hear! Glad to see our kicker is right there too.

  4. Bucs And Them Says:

Goedeke & Kancy might have been named if they didn’t miss those games due to injury. Bucky should be on the list though.

  5. Ke Says:

    Kancey should be Alternate

  6. Fishhawkbuc Says:

Time for the boys to play with a chip on their shoulder

WHY IS LAVONTE A PRO BOWLER THIS YEAR???????????? WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? He’s not.–Joe

He puts up great numbers EVERY SINGLE SEASON. He has had numerous better years than this season.

I am so confused. this Pro Bowl game is so random

  8. Colonel Angus Says:

January 26, a day which will live in infamy.

  9. First Name Greatest Says:

If you are local and have a chance to go, I would encourage you to do so. Took my oldest last year and we had a blast.

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I think the entire team should snub the Pro Bowl as a show of unity.

It would be worth any fines.how

Besides, the entire thing is a joke now. Not an honor.

Ironically, Baker Mayield was the pro bowl MVP last year, lol. Then tjey snub him.

  11. Pewter Power Says:

Did I read that right Jayden Daniels is in the pro bowl because the only thing he’s in the top 10 for has nothing to do with being a quarterback. Daniel’s should be listed under running backs. The nfl is really embarrassing when it comes to the pro bowl. It reminds me of the Antwoine Winfield snub

  12. BucU Says:

Antoine Winfield Jr. I remember that name. Didn’t he play for the Bucs at some point? He’s got lots of time to spend that huge sum of money he got since he doesn’t play football any more.

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

No Buc Deserves Defensive Honors this season. Quite Frankly, I am shocked David, and Vita were names alternates. Wirfs and Evans on the other hand are fully deserving.

  14. Vanessa Anne Says:

Thrilled that Vita and Tristan were both named.

Gritting my teeth that Baker, LaVonte, Mike and Chase were named as alternates. BOO!

Although it is nice to finally see LaVonte getting some national recognition.

And I agree with some of the other folks that Calijah, Luke and Bucky all could have been named as well.

  15. Pewter Power Says:

Vita Vea doesn’t Deserves Defensive Honors this season? Mike Johnson if you don’t watch football don’t comment. When has he not been one of the best nose tackles in the game. The Bucs scheme is trash not David and vita, otherwise it would have been much worse

  16. Jp1979 Says:

Top 3 offence and yet we have 1 pro bowl player selected . Yes this voting is a joke it’s why I don’t bother anymore . Go bucs

    ___________

Then why did you frequently mention JayMiss as a Pro-Bowler when he was here Joe?

  18. unbelievable Says:

As if we needed more proof that the pro bowl is an absolute joke.

And yet sadly, the number of pro bowl honors has a massive influence on the Hall of Fame voters, which sucks for guys like Lavonte and Mike.

NFL media taking a dump on the Bucs, per usual

  19. sunny Says:

probably one of the main reasons jayden daniels made it in over baker is the fan vote portion. it counts for 1/3 of the criteria and he had a ridiculous amount of fan votes. like.. do those fans have that much free time on their hands? i get why kelce had such a high number of votes w/ the taylor swift fans voting en masse, but how tf did daniels get the third most TOTAL fan votes?

  20. ThatAintRight! Says:

Okay a few things from this tweet.

    1. How is it Jayden Daniels is a pro bowler in his line rookie season? I liked him but dang that’s a lot of love for a one year wonder. Get his potential is high and he did do a lot for the commanders but pro bowler year one ? Okay I guess. Think maybe an alternate would have made more sense for him and put Baker Mayfield on the roster as a starter.

    2. How is Josh Jacobs the 3rd best RB in the NFC. No way this is fair and accurate based of talent yards or anything. Total garbage.

    3. Another thing, why isn’t the roster bigger? Shouldn’t it be bigger. Like why only (3) Gs? Why not (4-5) Gs minimum? Same with Ts? They act like only 2-3 got Ts in the league and that’s it. Idk starting to not like how we select players.
6-8 WRs and 3-4 TEs should be able to go out there put the uniform on and make things happen.

  21. Saskbucs Says:

Baker snubbed for Daniels is really the only tough one. Bucky has been great but the NFC side has worthy recipients in Barkley, Gibbs and Jacobs. Tough to overtake those guys as a rookie.

  22. RuKa_44 Says:

The Pro-Bowl is the biggest joke of the NFL season… there is no logic or much merit on it, it doesn’t represent the actual value of the players during the reason, all it counts is the hype-meter…

Only thing I have ever seen in a NFL season was in 2021 when “choke artist” Rodgers was voted MVP over TB12 when TB12 had one of the best seasons ever for a QB in NFL history…

Unfortunately we Bucs fans have to live with the reality that we will never have the hype other franchises do….

  23. garro Says:

    What RuKa said!

I refuse to give it any respect till they fix the voting. Obvious that the fan voting skews the results to the ridiculous results we have. Media hype prevails along with GFs who like how his uniform fits.

    Go Bucs!
