Banged Up Bucky Irving Heads Bucs’ Injury List
January 1st, 2025The mic’d up feature on Bucky Irving from Sunday’s beating of the Panthers showed a scene of Irving’s leg being wrapped in something that looked like it was once used by Alaskan natives to heal a wounded elder.
It seems now there’s a little more clarity as to what was going on.
Irving is listed on today’s official injury report with shoulder and shin issues.
The Bucs only held a walk-through practice today at One Buc Palace, but if it had been a real practice, Irving would have been limited.
Ruled “out” for today was cornerback Jamel Dean and safety Antoine Winfield with their respective knee issues.
Also out were tight ends Cade Otton (knee) and Payne Durham (quad).
Limited was No. 3 tight end Devin Culp (ribs), DT William Gholston (knee), receiver Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and left tackle Tristan Wirfs (foot, knee).
Mike Evans had a rest day.

This is a game to rest Bucky. Start Tucker over Rachaad. LFG
January 1st, 2025 at 5:43 pm
Bucky will play im sure he’s fine
January 1st, 2025 at 5:44 pm
I’d be ok with giving Bucky the week off. White and Tucker should get the job done. If we lose on Sunday, it won’t be because Irving played or didn’t play. We are gonna need Bucky full strength if Packers or Vikings come to town round 1.
January 1st, 2025 at 5:49 pm
Just rest him….if needed in the 4th qtr and hes ok with it, then maybe.
See why Im calling for drafting Skattebo? And after todays game, im thinking early third, maybe late 2nd….we’ll have to see the combine numbers i guess, lol. And those dont matter to me, i know what i see.
January 1st, 2025 at 5:54 pm
There might not be a next week if Bucky doesn’t play, he has gotten that good and has become that important of a weapon in the Bucs offense. Would rather see Tucker move ahead of White as he has already proven he can play well against the Saints.
January 1st, 2025 at 5:58 pm
Like Joe, I would not get over confident about this week. As Joe says and has been observed these Bucs play well one week and poor the next.I say if Bucky can go then start him.If we jump out to a quick lead you can always pulll him. This game may not be so easy if Carr Karmara and Olive return this week.If those guys are added and knowing how the Saints despite the Bucs, this could be a tight game, especially if the offense gets off to a slow start. The old saying don’t count your chickens before they hatch certainly applies here.

Anytime he gets more than 20 touches he shows up on the injury report. Tough kid. Hope his body doesn’t wear out fast.
January 1st, 2025 at 6:11 pm
Need spread carries around. He can heal and add some muscle in the offseason, just need to get him there before he gets seriously hurt.
January 1st, 2025 at 6:19 pm
Must win game. Everyone plays

Jmarkbuc Says:
Vita gonna play TE?

LOL
Vita actually played RB in high school so he can play next Sunday and give Bucky the day off. 😉
It would be entertaining to see opposing defenses attempting to stop him.
January 1st, 2025 at 6:22 pm
If he’s hurt at all let him rest and heal.
Liam, Rachaad and Sean can provide a potent run game with Bucky on the bench if needed, as long as the O-line keeps playing well.
WTF is happening with our tight ends though? Hopefully Durham and Culp heal up quick.

Positive is, only one hamstring issue. Go BUCS
January 1st, 2025 at 7:14 pm
Smoke screen
January 1st, 2025 at 7:22 pm
Are you kidding me?? Bucky will play !!
Go Bucs !! Beat the Saints !! Win the NFC South 4 consecutive years !!
January 1st, 2025 at 7:50 pm
Pmike has it right! And that’s how it’ll be til this season is over.
January 1st, 2025 at 8:21 pm
We are going to get an inspired Saints team. Motivation to play for their city, carr kamara and Olave likely to play and chance to ruin bucs season and end Evans streak. I hate this team and wouldn’t surprise me at all if they don’t put the dagger in us. Hated the schedule from the moment I saw we played them last week of the season. Add to the fact that they are very dirty team and will try to injure key guys on our team. By far least favorite team in the league!!!
January 1st, 2025 at 8:49 pm
Full speed ahead
January 1st, 2025 at 9:04 pm
Bucs should draft the RB from AZ State. The next Alstott!
January 1st, 2025 at 9:06 pm
Yeah Skattebo was impressive today….
Reminds me of Alstott but I know he’s lighter…
The way he runs and leans forward with pad level really low and he’s got ridiculous leg strength….
I’ll be curious to see what his 40 time is at the combine….
Catches the ball really well too!!
He & Irving would be the new thunder & lightning….
If he runs good, I could see someone grabbing him in the 2nd round..
January 1st, 2025 at 9:07 pm
OMG Joes! Maybe the funniest analogy I’ve seen and you’ve had a lot of beauties!
“… once used by Alaskan natives to heal a wounded elder.”
ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
January 1st, 2025 at 9:33 pm
Play Tucker more. Burning out Bucky is more bad coaching. It’s a must win and he has to play but 25 touches is too much.
January 1st, 2025 at 9:52 pm
Pass interference/30 yard catch/stiff arm/facemask/loses helmet… all in one play. So fun to watch!
January 1st, 2025 at 9:55 pm
Dean may be hurt again, but he’s been a disappointment when he is healthy. The word “hurt” seems to always be close. If management called me (and they should) I’d tell them to unload Dean right away. We can do better. We can also save lots of money.
On a side note, Bucky should be held out against the Saints. We will need him more later.
January 1st, 2025 at 10:07 pm
Fred – we’ve got to get to “later” to need “more.” As Joe has pointed out, every time the Bucs have a dominant win this year, the next week they go into a fetal position, resembling the coaching and leadership they get from the head guy. So, Liam Coen needs to be the one deciding player fitness to play and hopefully the head guy realizes that laying out a stinker like against the Cowboys (who just got bulldozed this last Sunday ie they suck) is his pink slip.
January 1st, 2025 at 11:04 pm
I’d be very surprised if the Buccaneers don’t blow the Saints out this Sunday. They are a very uninspired team playing without a head coach. Add to that the terrible thing that happened in New Orleans today and I’m not convinced their interim head coach Rizzi can help the team play with enough emotion. If the Bucs get a significant lead on them, they will pack it in and say goodbye to this season. They may have already done that, we will see !!
Go Bucs !! Beat the Saints !!
January 1st, 2025 at 11:13 pm
I wanna see more Sean anyhow
January 1st, 2025 at 11:27 pm
The issue is we are all having Bucky fever but this kid is not an every down workhorse back. We are ridding him just a little too much. Like you said Beeej, I would like to see some Sean Tucker. He can hold up with some help and a week of rest for Bucky plus a win, obviously, we can take our chances with him on the fence for one game.

Do not rest him.
The kid is close to 1,000 yards, isn’t he? Let him get what’s left, then pull him.
January 2nd, 2025 at 5:47 am
Hope Bucky heals well. Good to hear giving Mike a rest day. Best wishes for Culp, Otton, and others too.
January 2nd, 2025 at 6:44 am
Biggest disappointment of the 2024 season is Winfield. Gets paid big time then proceeds to suck then get injured twice and missing the vast majority of the season. Fiqures.
January 2nd, 2025 at 8:49 am
Vita should be used as RB on goal line as we go into playoffs.
January 2nd, 2025 at 9:41 am
The Saints would love nothing more than to take us out of the playoffs. Upset alert.
January 2nd, 2025 at 10:24 am
It’s inevitable that we will wear this little guy out and I know he’s a dawg and he’s tough as nails but sometimes that’s a curse when playing through ailments so not sure why we’re not using Tucker way more often the kid looks electric every time he touches the ball even when he only gains 4 yards.
January 2nd, 2025 at 10:33 am
Let’s forget about the duck alright, they live all around the stadium, it was cool but not as cool as Jesus walking in and saying you’re all saved. So go back a long way to an old quarterback and an Elton John song. Vinny and the Bucs, and bring out the new name Bucky and the Bucs. I’m old what can I say.. I Love this kid I was scared was going to get hurt.. Awesome Season for Bucky and a long time for a thousand yard rusher. Let’s Go!!!
January 2nd, 2025 at 10:36 am
I’m glad that I don’t make the decision whether some one is a slacker or a faker. But an injury is hard to hide. You cannot force a slacker to play well. No one wants a permanent injury. The contracts should have clauses that cover injuries, play to get paid. This is why Bowles prefers 1-2 year contracts, with bonus incentives. That is just smart business. Unfortunately, the Saints have a mindset to play Wipeout with opponents. They don’t care about the win, just who they can destroy a career. Sad. Stay strong Bucs. I always believe in the team.
January 2nd, 2025 at 1:01 pm
Ahhh Antonine Winfield, thanks for nothing this year. All good, not like we didn’t need you or anything this yr because of how “great” our pass defense has been. Especially when we play soft zone, which really confuses quarterbacks. So take it easy Winfield! All good man, take another month off and we’ll just see you in the Super Bowl..
January 2nd, 2025 at 1:53 pm
Winfield still not practicing smh
January 2nd, 2025 at 1:54 pm
What is actually wrong with AWJ the play he got hurt on didn’t even look crazy. Also, its just called “knee” injury like what is the diagnosis
January 3rd, 2025 at 1:00 am
With the so called injury report that the Bucs put out these days there is no way to tell who is actually gonna be on the field till they come out of the tunnel.
Go Bucs!
