All Bucky Irving; Zero Rachaad White
January 5th, 2025Strange look for the Bucs offense today.
Rachaad White didn’t touch the ball once and Joe didn’t like it.
It was the first time in White’s career that he didn’t get a touch in a game.
Look, Joe’s no cheerleader in the White fan club, but damn, White is a valuable contributor. In the biggest game of the year, offensive coordinator Liam Coen pulled the plug.
Strange.
Even No. 3 running back Sean Tucker got two carries (16 yards).
White finished the regular season with 144 carries for 613 rushing yards and 3 TDs. He also racked up 6 receiving touchdowns, as part of his 51-catch season for 393 yards.
Think about that. White had 1,000+ yards from scrimmage this season and the Bucs had no use for him today.
When the Bucs made Bucky Irving the starting running back last week against Carolina, they really meant it!
Joe hopes the Bucs find a complementary role for White. He remains a weapon.
January 5th, 2025 at 5:53 pm
Tuck & Buck next season. R. White gets traded.
January 5th, 2025 at 5:53 pm
Injured?
I agree Joe didn’t make much sense…
January 5th, 2025 at 5:55 pm
yeah i was wondering…
are they resting his sore body for the playoffs…?
is he potentially gonna be a workhorse next week…?
doesn’t seem likely…
i find it hard to believe he went from rb1 to rb3 overnight…?
joe get to the bottom of this like an og
January 5th, 2025 at 5:55 pm
He was in on plenty of 3rd downs. It was apparent that almost every passing play that was called had mike as the first read. The gameplan was to get mike his yards, the mindset was that, the progressions for baker was that.
January 5th, 2025 at 5:57 pm
Apparently Bucky got better in blitz pickups
January 5th, 2025 at 5:57 pm
I thought i saw White run one, super slowly to the right? Maybe I blacked out?
January 5th, 2025 at 5:59 pm
draft a scateboo, and trade white…?
i was thinking about it the other day….trade white for an edge piece maybe…?
i don’t want them to trade rachaad…he had about 1,000 yards from scrimmage this year, while splitting time with bucky…
with no bucky, he’da put up like 1,500 yards from scrimmage like last year…
he’s a serious weapon…don’t trade him…
a rb can get injured at any moment…good to have a deep room and even add scateboo if he’s on the clock when drafting
January 5th, 2025 at 6:00 pm
Tucker should’ve had a bigger role today
January 5th, 2025 at 6:01 pm
Might have been different if they were not playing from behind with the defense on the field the whole first half.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:02 pm
Mistakes were made
January 5th, 2025 at 6:03 pm
He got the ball today running. Not sure if it was a penalty, but I know he ran the ball because he got tackled behind the line. He looked like he was walking when he got tackled.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:05 pm
He didnt get the ball at all? I could of swore I remember him getting at least 1 carry.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:06 pm
White is a 3rd down back. He is good at catching the ball and blitz pickup. He isn’t some amazing running back that should be stealing touches from the two rbs that are good running backs.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:07 pm
Already imagining Otten and White next week.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:10 pm
They were keying in on the screens thats where he is most effective not surprised
January 5th, 2025 at 6:10 pm
Really who cares though bucs win and go to the playoffs who cares how many touches white got honestly.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:11 pm
I agree Joe, not a good look at all. Unless we’re keeping things under the vest for our playoff opponent, BUT we needed to win TODAY! Guess we had enough (barely) to get it done.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:12 pm
He ran the ball at least once and was chased down from behind by Chase Young.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:13 pm
Maybe White was in charge of the duck in case we needed it in final 2 mins
January 5th, 2025 at 6:13 pm
I’m a Bucky guy. I’m ok with this!
January 5th, 2025 at 6:17 pm
We won the game….
January 5th, 2025 at 6:17 pm
He got the ball but there was a holding penalty
January 5th, 2025 at 6:19 pm
Hope Rachaad is doing alright 🤞🏼. We’re going to need him in the playoffs 👍🏼

No way, that’s great…..we landed on the moon!
January 5th, 2025 at 6:25 pm
I was. At the game and paying attention to that. He did not have a touch. Seemed bizarre to me. I agree, he is a bit of a weapon. He ran out and was announced as a starter. He did play, just no touches. Very strange.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:27 pm
Bucky Irving is better when he’s sharing carries with Rashad White
No idea why our OC thinks Bucky Irving is ready to be a workhorse back
It’s stupid if white is in the doghouse after one fumble
January 5th, 2025 at 6:31 pm
@Tbbucs3 it would be two fumbles in key situations. Bucs were fortunate to overcome the one against the Chargers.
I think he is banged up. He’ll be more involved in the playoffs.
January 5th, 2025 at 6:42 pm
Ahhhh wrong White and 1 carry for -2
January 5th, 2025 at 6:43 pm
These two RBs complement each other. So far, Coen hasn’t quite seen it. They both can catch, and White can block.
January 5th, 2025 at 7:02 pm
Having to play comeback and getting the ball to Mike affected our 2 back sets today perhaps

Ummm.. if you’ve seen it, clearly Coen has seen it since he called what you saw.
January 5th, 2025 at 7:08 pm
No sir, the Slimy Saints defense was responsible for that. They played so well in the first half it was almost like they knew what plays we were running. White was a part of the original game plan but that all went in the can after the first half. I saw White in the game blocking and there’s no doubt Coen was trying to feed him the ball but things just didn’t work out for him today.
Rachaad White will get the ball next week !! He feeds off of Becky’s runs !!
Go Bucs !!
January 5th, 2025 at 7:09 pm
All the White apologists have dried up and blown away.
January 5th, 2025 at 7:14 pm
He ran the ball on a counter play to the right and Palmer got a holding penalty. Either way we didn’t run the ball very well today. Hopefully the saints didn’t show the league how to stop the bucs run game. Overall it wasn’t the best game for OC Coen. The screens got blown up and the run game was not great. Glad we got the win though!
January 5th, 2025 at 7:33 pm
Rachaad is a quality back, proficient blocker, and a great outlet receiver. Don’t worry, he’ll be ready and back in force when his number is called next week.

I fell asleep at the half. I listen on Bucs Radio. Could you link me to the particular play?
January 5th, 2025 at 7:43 pm
He did get a carry and got swarmed by chase young because he forgot to start running.
January 5th, 2025 at 7:43 pm
Weird. Something is definitely up and I started to really notice it too, in the last week or two… Pretty much since that fumble(s), but really started noticing it last week. Must be addressed AND FIXED, immediately. Gotta have HIM back in our passing game again, IF we’re expecting to advance deep into the Playoffs. At least he should be extremely ‘fresh’ – that could be HUGE.
January 5th, 2025 at 7:54 pm
Bucs had 31 carries for 179 yards….do some of you even watch the games…that’s not a bad day maybe that explains why so many here think Todd’s a genius
January 5th, 2025 at 8:06 pm
He got one touch but the dude was tip toeing and waiting for Moses to part the seas and got tackled for a loss. I would bet this could have been a disciplinary move or he was not 100% cuz Rachaad is the better blocker so far.
January 5th, 2025 at 8:13 pm
I think he’s seeing the writing on the wall… And, that he will be ‘moved’ this off-season, going into the final year of his ‘rookie’ deal. It makes sense. He should have decent value. He has put up some nice numbers and he’s CHEAP. I would want a 3rd. Will be interesting. I’m NOT taking a 5th. NO. WAY. Not worth-it’ for that, might as well keep him (then reevaluate during the season before the trade deadline).
January 5th, 2025 at 8:15 pm
Seems like Vegas knew he wasn’t going to be involved. His over under rushing yards was set at 20 yards which I found really odd.
January 5th, 2025 at 8:47 pm
& 87 of those 179 yds rushing was mayfield,
January 5th, 2025 at 8:48 pm
Sorry I ment 68 yds was mayfield
January 5th, 2025 at 9:04 pm
It’s a huge part of the reason why the offense was stuck in the mud IMO.
People wanna hate on White but he’s lethal in the passing game, and still had multiple games where he was our leading rusher and/or had the highest YPC of any of our backs. He’s made some crucial crucial plays on 3rd and 4th down, making chicken salad out of chicken ch!t at times.
I think maybe he was hurt and so they limited his snaps?
January 5th, 2025 at 9:33 pm
White better have been hurt because if not, that was an excuse, inexcusable game plan by Liam Coen.
As great as Bucky Irving is, he’s not Derrick Henry. He needs to share the load.
January 5th, 2025 at 10:34 pm
Coen was awful today. He has been outstanding all year, but today he had some poor calls and his players had far too many penalties.
January 5th, 2025 at 10:43 pm
White is going into his contract year and his 2025 salary is only 1.6m
Thats nothing and we keep a guy that is productive and insurance for Bucky.
Keeping him is a no brainer
January 5th, 2025 at 11:54 pm
Thank God he didn’t get the ball. Joe, do you not remember all the the years of 2 and 3 yard carries all night? That was all White all game so I’m perfectly fine with it. White is not a good running back and we did not need another receiver on the field. We won didn’t we? I’m personally getting sick of mid game adjustment having to be made to get back in the game. Seems like we get smoked in the first half every week but pick up all the slack in the second half. That kind of play will not get us to the Super Bowl
January 6th, 2025 at 12:47 am
You see Joe in must win games most teams tend to play their best players. It’s pretty common throughout the nfl really. I’m just grateful this team beat the highly motivated saint team.
January 6th, 2025 at 2:03 am
He didn’t touch the ball because we have better players touching the ball plain and simple
January 6th, 2025 at 3:19 am
White is expendable this is how it should of been at the beginning of the year everyone could tell they just wanted to do right by White.
January 6th, 2025 at 5:25 am
As good as Bucky is, I don’t think he can be a bell cow back. Name me a great back that has not escaped a serious injuries often season ending. McCaffrey, Barkley, Cook, and even Adrian Peterson, one of the most durable backs in my
memory succumbed to this trend. One of the reasons we struggled in the first half
IMO,was a little too much of Bucky and not mixing the offense up more. Teams are going to key on Bucky and try to shut down the running game.
January 6th, 2025 at 6:02 am
I honestly believe the f****** years for somewhat pulling their punches on office. Of course you don’t want anybody worn out for hurt but also keeping the playbook a little bit secret. Yes teams know what we can do but it looks like we’ve gotten away from Rashad who knows he might be getting a lot of thinking dunks screen passes the type of things that make him him come up against the commanders while buggy bugs and Tucker bulldozers. Man I hope we hit all cylinders I get such commanders
January 6th, 2025 at 6:03 am
He did get the ball. He ran like crap, walked, got tackld behind the line of scrimmage, but there was a penalty so it didn’t count. It’s about time. He’s the most over rated player on this team. Dude is garbage and can ride the bench, put tucker in the number two spot, white doesn’t need to be on the field except for the occasional screen.
January 6th, 2025 at 6:05 am
Must win game best player plays
January 6th, 2025 at 6:34 am
Isn’t White a FA next season? I don’t see the Bucs paying him. I’m sure he’ll get better offers elseware.
January 6th, 2025 at 6:48 am
White got one carry for negative yards. White also lined up at WR a lot during the game. Maybe a position change or a modification of his as a more Deebo Samuel or Cordell Patterson type player. He is too good of a weapon in the passing game to just cut free. I see the Bucs picking up another RB in the off season.
January 6th, 2025 at 8:12 am
We should play TUCKER
January 6th, 2025 at 9:29 am
White got a carry. He got tackled in the backfield because he runs like he’s in quick sand.
January 6th, 2025 at 12:25 pm
I would take a 3rd Rounder for him, in a heartbeat. There are LOTS of teams looking for/needing CHEAP production from that position (Cowboys). Take advantage of the ‘value’ now, if you can… They’re not going to re-sign him anyway, so might as well. That Defense has soooo many needs & they could ‘use-it’ in order to trade-up for Jalon Walker, or if Deone Walker slips past the 1st-Round, they could then ‘package it’ with their 2nd and move-up for him. LOTS of options/things you can do with an extra 3rd-Round Pick… Last season’s (Carlton Davis) turned-out pretty well for us. JMac.
January 6th, 2025 at 2:12 pm
Win-win. They got to see Bucky in a full game this season and got to rest white for the playoffs.
January 6th, 2025 at 6:38 pm
White is a beast. Fair weather fans might not see it, but he has carried the load the previous 2 years breaking tackles, juking players out, with not great o line play at all. This year is the first year we had a decent o line with our new center and other young guys getting a year or 2 under their belt. And even in the first part of the season Godeke was out and when rachaad was getting most of the load. Rachaad was set to have a breakout year this year. Still did 1k scrimmage yards with less than half of the work. Our offense definitely did not look good without him in there yesterday. Yea he was in on 3rd down plays, bit just wasn’t the same offense yesterday. Feel like the oc dropped the ball on schemes yesterday not I’m sure the saints had a lot to do with it as well. We fire on all cylinders, get back some secondary help, we can make some magic in the playoffs!
January 6th, 2025 at 6:55 pm
We have the deepest RB stable in the league.
Enjoy it while its lasts.
January 6th, 2025 at 7:12 pm
LOL You must be watching another team. Dude couldn’t make a mailbox miss. He is one of the worst running backs in the NFL at avoiding tackles — this is all well documented with advanced stats because when Joe offered up the hard numbers, folks absolutely flamed Joe.
January 7th, 2025 at 3:00 am
I fail to see any valid reason not to use him Joe. I saw quite a few whiffs on blittzes. That is enough right there to at least have him in the backfield. Sorry to rain on Bucky’s parade but he and Tucker both need to work on some blocking technique. They did at least pick up the guys who were coming… they just did not do much to slow them down. White coming out of the backfield does a lot for this offense as well. I don’t understand it either Joe.
Go Bucs!

Go Bucs!
