Win And In

December 29th, 2024

One more win.

There is joy in the streets of central Florida, from Venice to Crystal River all the way to Cocoa Beach. That’s because the Commandos beat the Dixie Chicks tonight.

The Bucs, as a result, are back in first place!

The Commandos had to go to overtime to win, 30-24.

So it is real simple this coming Sunday for the Bucs: Win and they’re in. Lose and, well, Joe doesn’t want to think about that.

If the Bucs beat the slimy Saints at home, the Bucs win the NFC South and will host a wild card round playoff game in two weeks.

No need to fret or wring your hands or concern yourself with anything else. It’s as simple as can be: Win Sunday, and the Bucs are in the playoffs.

Should be fun.

Thank you Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels.

The Bucs are lucky ducks today!

  3. Chrisonthecape Says:

Could Bowles possibly screw this up?

  4. Saskbucs Says:

Beautiful. Would normally be worried about this game based on the history but no Allen, no Carr, no Kamara, no Lattimore… time to roll these guys up and send Cameron and Davis into retirement.

Saints are gonna be all over Mike though. Wish they would have gotten him another 20 today.

  5. Dan Says:

Can always trust the Falcons to crap the bed when it matters most

  13. BucsFan81 Says:

Bowles screws this up and he needs to be walked off the plank at 4pm next Sunday when the game is over. The Saints are already on vacation. They don’t even have a QB at this point. The Raiders just blew them out today.

  14. Winny Testaverde Says:

    Or Minny

  15. adam from ny Says:

no kayla we are not lucky…

    karma in effect…

atlanta got lucky vs. us a whole lot this year – do you even watch the games ???

  16. GJ Says:

A win & Rams loss gives us the 3 seed, not bad considering the wins we gave away.

  17. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

The consolation prize if they lose is Bowles gets fired. The Bucs need to fire Bowles and prompte Coen to Head Coach win or lose or they will go back to mediocrity. To the person who says well Bowles pick great Offensive Coordinators, Canales was not so good. Carolina did the Bucs a favor by hiring Canales.

  18. LouisFriend Says:

They did it this way last year, and they’ll do it the same this year. Losing to the Saints as they are right now would likely have a massive impact on the coaching staff’s jobs. They should know that. They’ll be as prepared for the Saints as they would a Super Bowl.

  19. Pelsbuc61 Says:

Bucs have been handed a gift. I hope they know what to do with it. They need to play like the playoffs are on the line next week. Bowles better have his team ready. Go Bucs!!!!

  20. Ben the GA Buc Says:

It’s ours if we want it. Which Bucs team will show up Sunday?

  21. WanderingWallflower Says:

Anyone who says Todd Bowles should thank Washington, is acknowledging he should be replaced. If the outcome of another team means that much, your own coach hasn’t gotten the job done with your own. Either he’s fully acceptable or he’s not. I’m no advocate to fire him. Coax him into a President of Football Operations. Hate to say it, but the lady from the Jets, she’s gotta be reassigned as well if she’s had the impact we’re led to believe on clock management.

I’m not sold on Coen, either. I just believe I see a minimum 12 win football team winning 8, 9 and ? (9 or 10) for three straight seasons.

  22. RVATom Says:

Nice. But this Defense isn’t going anywhere in the playoffs.

  23. Aj Says:

adam, think she’s referencing the literal duck that was on the field

  24. Kayla Says:

Adam from ny, It was a joke about the duck at Ray Jay today, genius.

  25. Mr. Editor Says:

I would like to see the Dixie Chicks lose next week, too.

  26. adam from ny Says:

    @Winny:

yes i so want minny after a loss to detroit…

we can take minny at ray jay

  27. adam from ny Says:

if seattle wins next weekend over the rams…

do we bump up to the #3 seed…???

that’s the question…because the potential opponents change

  28. Ramblin_Man Says:

Bucs win next week they win the division, get a home playoff game, and I cash in on a $400 payout! A lot on thw line and a lot to potentially celebrate lol

  29. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Thanks, Raheem for squandering precious seconds at the end of the game.

    A “Bowlesish” move…

  30. yucboy Says:

  31. adam from ny Says:

  36. Woodenman Says:

Way to keep the faith Tom we need more like you Not!!

  37. Adam’s Angry Says:

That London guy… dude…. Cover him.

  38. Simeon4HOF Says:

Bout to rewatch the Bucs win to ease the watching falcons low and enjoy Bucky

  39. Simeon4HOF Says:

Bucs are going to draft Defense no matter who the coach is. Can Todd get the Bucs deep into the playoffs

  40. Simeon4HOF Says:

Know we lacking some talent on Defense, but if Todd wants to keep this team while we lose our Offensive staff .. he better pull his head out his own azz and stop blaming soft play and players that are reflecting his style and accountability respect level. Light our Defense back on fire Todd. We only missing Winfield and Izien rn. And tell Dean he better step up or he fired on black Monday.

  41. Woodenman Says:

Kayla surprise you show your face after predicting a loss buy bucs and commanders oh I guess that was a joke.haha

  42. ReeeBarrr Says:

I’ll give Atl credit. They had more heart and were more physical tonight than I expected. I thought they were only tough guys against our Bucs lol

First place is a good place to be.

    Cheers! Go Bucs

  43. BJK Says:

What team has won their division four years straight?.

  44. firethecannons Says:

The prime time game the Saints played a week ago versus Greenbay, they scored 0 points and today they scored 10 points in a loss. So Bowles better get our team motivated to win or he should be fired after that game.

  45. Oneilbuc Says:

Todd Bowles still got to go the only way they should keep him is if we make it to the NFC Championship game other than that he has to go. We need a offensive minded coach. Cohen as the HC and Robert Salhes as the DC 2025 !! Go Bucs!!!

  46. Oneilbuc Says:

We shouldn’t even be in this position we got out coached in just about every lost.

  47. TGAG Says:

All you Bowles haters should know this: Coach B. had us ready & we won. Remarkable job in face of devastating injury. Love Coen but we don’t need him as Bucky propels the offense.

  48. Cometowin2 Says:

With the Bucs win next week, I cash a $200 playout for the division and 84 or so for over 7 1/2 wins which I already won. Got $25 on the NFC Championship game and the same on the Super Bowl. Wouldn’t that be nice!

    Go Bucs!!!

  49. FortMyersDave Says:

If the Bucs win next week they will either be the 3 or 4 seed depending on if the Rams win or lose…. So that means they will get the 2nd or 3rd place team in the NFC North in all likelihood (Joes; could DC get the 6 seed still if the Pack loses?). So, who do the Bucs have a better shot against Green Bay, Minnesota or possibly Detroit?

Of course, the Bucs do need to beat the Aints and as Firethecannons pointed out, if they lose Bowles should be launched and his office emptied out by 5 PM Sunday. Just win baby!

  50. Wild Bill Says:

Sheesh Christmas happened twice this year!!! Talk about an up and down season. I all but puked last week. Now a huge blow out win ( did the Bucs really do that?). And the Commanders gave a HUGE present. WoW!!!! This season has been so schizoid I had almost quit watching. What a freaking psychotic story ending if the fooking Saints roll over and play dead for us!!! Can Santa smile on the Bucs one more time. Can the once dead several times Bucs rise from their grave , beat the Saints and back into the playoffs? Can the Bucs shock the NFL and win a playoff game? Can reality be stranger than fiction? Do the Bucs have a chance to make the superbowl. Is the drug store still open, I need some Zanax. I must be delusional. Hahahaha.

  51. BallHawk75 Says:

    27-26

History tells us that Bowles will find a way to lose to the Saints next week.

Plus, beating terrible opponents doesn’t make you a great coach.

I keep the receipts just like the Glazers do.

    Just ask The Joes.

  52. Pewter Power Says:

Damn lol in the nfc south. Liam Coen is going to be the highest paid rookie head coach in league history thanks to Bowles

  53. Bucs Orlando Says:

    Cocoa Beach checking in.

Yes! We watched camping in Ginnie Springs and woke everyone up on the missed field goal.

Dont like needing help, but we’ll take it!

  54. Ordinary fan Says:

Bakers plays. HERO-BALL 4 INTERCEPTIONS SAINTS 10 BUCCANEERS 7…Mike Evans strangles Baker Mayfield ,calling him a “WHITE HONKEY ” . BAKER RETIRES IN SHAME .Coach Bowels gets a new 5 YEAR CONTRACT for cutting BAKER. hahaha

  55. Rod Munch Says:

Ordinary fan – I don’t know, that would be out of character for Evans. He’s played with many white QBs, including Mike Glennon and never strangled him on the field while using a racial epithet. I don’t see that happening and I hope you’re wrong.

  56. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    RVATom Says
“Nice. But this Defense isn’t going anywhere in the playoffs.”

There has been teams that made it to the Superbowl without a good enough defense. It doesn’t happen often but it happens.

Most of the time tough, they didn’t actually win the big game.

  57. freeballin34 Says:

    @Rod Munch

    Hahaha!!! Thank you for that.

  58. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I now believe Bowles will be here next year. Not sure how I feel about that.

    • I think they can get Coen to stay with a bump in pay and by making him Asst HC. Truthfully, I think he may wish to stick around on more year for Baker.

    • Say what you will about Bowles being low energy, but he somehow manages to keep the player motivated. They may have an occasional bad game, but the majority of the other are very competitive.

    • Last year, we had huge cap issues, but we still managed to compete. We knew that we needed to draft quality OL the past 2 drafts, and we did.

    • We also knew that the defense would suffer from the cap issues and from lack of high picks spent on it.

    • We don’t need Godwin back. He may not be the same after the injury, and thankfully he was tagged this year, no no commitment next year. Meanwhile, in his absence, we’ve seen young player get opportunities and do well. We can save $25 million by not bringing Godwin back.

    • To be fair to Bowles, ignoring the defense except to cut costs had to have a bad effect over two years. Now? We have the offense complete. So the next draft can go on defense.

    • I would still like Bowles to hire a good DC, but he seems to be the kind of coach that gets the team to play well in Nov & Dec.

  59. HC Grover Says:

BUCS will beat the Stanks for the division title again. Bowles will say….I’m Baaack!

  60. rrsrq Says:

I just hope Thad Lewis (QB coach) is taking notes, maybe you make Cohen, HC in waiting if that is possible with league rules, because I doubt Bowles coaches more than 2 more years

  61. Usfbucs Says:

I hope they force him to hire a DC or promote somebody.

  62. orlbucfan Says:

Well, when the Bucs played DC (back when they were healthy-what century was that) and won, I told myself that if DC was smart, they would build a team around Jayden Daniels. That’s happening. The Falcons, too, are slowly becoming a decent team again. So, Bucs are in first place in the Division. Better FIRE BOWLES! Yeah, after the walking wounded demolished Carolina 48-14. I don’t give a crap what the Panthers’ record is. They are still one of 32 professional American football teams. All these pro players are top notch athletes, competitive, and proud. Licht and Bowles have done a very good job drafting players with good character as well as talent. Bowles has kept this team together. If Coen has any brains, he’ll be back here next year. I hope CG14 will be, too. Go Bucs! 10-7 here we come!

  63. Ted Says:

All this underachieving team can ask is to be in the situation of win your last game and you are in the playoffs. Bowles and the Bucs are indeed fortunate to play in the NFC South and not the NFC East or North. Bowles will absolutely be back every year until 8-10 wins isn’t enough to get into the playoffs.

  64. Tucker Says:

Good thing they cut camarda man this team lol
