Tristan Wirfs Raves About Bucs’ Run Game
December 30th, 2024Nothing seems to make offensive linemen happier than a good running game. Well, except for cold beer and hot steaks.
The Bucs bulldozed the Stinking Panthers on the ground yesterday, racking up 202 yards on 40 carries, a hair over five yards a carry.
Tristan Wirfs may have been most proud of Bucky Irving surpassing 1,000 yards rushing. Irving became the first Bucs rookie to put up those kinds of numbers since Doug Martin in 2012.
“That was awesome,” Wirfs said of Irving’s feat. “We knew he was close, and we definitely wanted to get that for him because that’s huge.”
Wirfs then noted how Rachaad White and even Sean Tucker contributed big runs. In short, Wirfs is very proud.
“That was a statement run from him,” Wirfs said of a 16-yard run by White. “Then ‘Tuck’ [Sean Tucker] comes in and he gets stopped in the backfield, does a little spin thing and gets positive yards out of it.
“We have three great [running] backs back there who we have all the faith in the world in and they’re going to go out and do their job when they need to.”
The old football adage about having a good run game in the playoffs may pay off for the Bucs.
That is, if they arrive to playoff games p!ssed off like the offense was yesterday.

I think this the BEST offensive line I’ve ever seen in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history…..yes, even better than Brady’s Superbowl season.
I love the fact that Bucs can rely on the run game!!!!
Kiddos to Liam Coen and offensive line coach!!!!

Looked great now that White finally got benched for fumbling. Bowles is starting to hold people accountable.

Rachaad White is more power than agileness of Bucky Irving.
Rachaad White is an effective blocker, pass catcher, and fights hard for yards.
Yes Bucky is good, but he’s too small and cannot last the whole season without another running back……and that’s Rachaad White does.
People, don’t crap on Rachaad White

Bucs have the 4th most ppg, 3rd most yards ppg, 3rd most passing yards ppg, and 4th most rushing yards ppg which is only behind the Eagles, Ravens, and Commanders, all teams with dual threat QB’s. It all starts with the OC, O-Line coach, and the O-Line
Meanwhile some are simping for the guy that cost them the 2022 NFC Divisional game vs the Rams, makes back-up QB’s look like HOFers, has poor game management skills, can’t protect a late game lead, and is in charge of the 17th scoring defense that allows the 22nd most yards per game this season
Make the right choice Glazers. Give Baker stability for once in his career
December 30th, 2024 at 9:22 am
You like that ?!!!!!!!!! Falcons
December 30th, 2024 at 9:22 am
liked watching number 67 bulldoze his man about 20 yards lmao
December 30th, 2024 at 9:25 am
Yesterday is over. It now means nothing.
Move on.

@Dom , you’re absolutely right 💯. You cannot let go of a Kevin O Connell or a Matt LaFleur , Zac Taylor,Brandon Staley all from McVay coaching tree where Liam Cohen came from too. All we need is a middle of the pack Defense and we’re SB contenders
December 30th, 2024 at 9:50 am
Dom, I agree give Baker stability for once in his career. How does replacing the coach give him stability? Todd Bowles wanted Baker coming out of college. They have had mutual respect since Baker came into the league. Mayfield probably wouldn’t be in Tampa if not for Bowles. They have a mutually beneficial relationship plus they just like each other. On another subject Ira said in his 10 things that Palmer oughta think twice about fielding punts to close to our goal line. Ira is right about that could get us beat. Just because we drove 95 yards like it was a short field yesterday doesn’t mean we can do that against the best teams. Special teams is coming along but I don’t quite trust Trey Palmer quite yet.

too close
December 30th, 2024 at 9:56 am
Just slow your roll guys…we aint all that….aints are next…take it serious!!!
December 30th, 2024 at 9:56 am
@Kenton Smith
It gives him stability because he finally wouldn’t have to learn a different offense. Like he has every season. Baker doesn’t play defense. He isn’t on the Panthers anymore

Our playoff starts today. Focus on the Saints. We lose, we’re out because the Falcons have the Panthers next at home, and we know how that’s gonna turn out. Great job by our players, Bowles, Coen and others getting us here, but no patting ourselves on the backs until we’ve beaten the disgusting Saints. You know they’re gonna give their all to try and knock us out of the playoffs. Go Bucs!
December 30th, 2024 at 10:52 am
Don’t be surprised if Carr, Kamara and Ohlave play on Sunday for the Saints. If that happens it’s a whole different ballgame.
December 30th, 2024 at 11:17 am
Outrigger I’ve been saying the same thing. They don’t move down in draft with a Qin. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kamara ans Carr play and they go balls out on us. This would be their Super Bowl ending Tampas season and reign at the top of the NFC South.
December 30th, 2024 at 11:28 am
Kenton Smith-they absolutely CAN do that against the best teams. They’ve proven that this season as really only one loss is from lack of offense. Add to that the strides in consistency made this season, and all it’s going to take is a defense that can make important stops. They haven’t had that most of the season.
December 30th, 2024 at 11:34 am
A few of the Aints are still the Sean Payton garbage that knocked CD14 out for the rest of the season by……cheating, of course! Payton lucked out that the Chargers blew it by letting Brees go. I normally like Denver, but I hate Payton and scum like him with a passion of more than a million suns. I want to see the Bucs bury this team. Outrigger is right: That whole scummy bunch will be playing Sunday. Go Bucs and bury the Aints!! 10-7!!!!!
December 30th, 2024 at 11:41 am
Great offense great running game . The only thing that will will hurt us in the playoffs is the secondary. Defense not that good when it come to playoffs caliber teams.
December 30th, 2024 at 12:15 pm
Love seeing Wirf so happy in that picture! They got it done.
December 30th, 2024 at 1:02 pm
Dom, spot on. Well said in the fewest words possible. Now, in the second halves of the last two games, the defense played like a good unit. 3 points only for the JerrySows, blank from the Panthies. Do I believe that is sustainable with the current overseer? No I do not.
The best thing for Baker and the Bucs is to keep Coen, by whatever formula necessary.
December 30th, 2024 at 3:43 pm
the saints lost to the raiders they still have their D line but they were terrible against the raiders it wud b a travesty to lose to them next week no way that’s happening
December 30th, 2024 at 9:00 pm
I hope the Bucs get out to a big lead early Sunday, get Mike to 1000 and are able to rest the starters. Don’t let anyone get hurt.
If Coen leaves for a head coaching job, at least keep Carbs for the offensive line. Incredible group!

Keep beating that drum and playing that flute, brother. Your eyes may end up looking a little like a cross-eyed Mary when you’re done, but it will all be worth it. If on some level it can make a difference it’s worthwhile. Even when you’re catching your rattling last breaths you feel good knowing you did the right thing. Because when you are right, you’re right. In this case you’re right. Now I’m back to watching as the frilly panties run.
