The Streak Continues

December 22nd, 2024

Bucs are scared of the dark.

Joe never expected to type the following:

Joe hopes as long as Bucs coach Todd Bowles is the Bucs’ head coach, this team never plays another prime time game in the regular season.

The loss Sunday night makes it six regular season night games in a row that the Bucs have lost. They just shat the bed when the sun wasn’t shining at kickoff.

Joe doesn’t know what that is or what causes this. Joe is starting to think the Bucs are too young. YaYa Diaby last week told Joe the hype the Bucs were getting from all the national hollering shows and talking heads got to their collective heads.

Well, you could almost smell this coming: Everybody and their brother jumped on the Bucs’ bandwagon after they curb-stomped the Chargers. And the very first game after a week of hype with people yelling, “You don’t want to play this team… “

The Cowboys showed that, yeah, you do.

    Primetime curse is real

  2. Oneilbuc Says:

Rashard White needs to be benched.

  3. Rod Munch Says:

But wait, everyone told me the Bucs would win by 30, and the Bucs history of melting down in prime time was a meaningless stat that had nothing to do with anything.

Now the entire season comes down to the Redskins not having a major letdown vs the Falcons after beating the Eagles.

  4. Oneilbuc Says:

But knew we were going to lose this game because it was a prime time game.

  5. Zman Says:

No playoffs. We don’t deserve it. Winning teams don’t lose 4 in a row. Classic Bowles. We don’t have a finish them off mentality. Even if we get in, our pass rush and secondary sux and has for years. We are not a balanced team. Ive seen enough of Bowles. This is what he is. He’s not the next step coach.

  6. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

WHY IS RACHAAD OUT THERE?!? I need one more Mike Evans catch to hit a $2k parlay. Rachaad owes us a Bucs win and personally owes me $2k.

  7. Tye Says:

The Bucs “Todd Bowels” that game like a $2 street walker!

  8. Ben the GA Buc Says:

It happens every time they start hearing from everyone about how good they are. I guess Bowles’ insult guys didn’t do enough this week to counteract the hype.

  9. A Bucs Fan Says:

This is the loss that may cause a coaching change in Tampa Bay.

  10. DoooshLaRue Says:

    Real fans aren’t surprised Joe.

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Freaking pretenders

  12. Bucmike Says:

Fully expect to lose our final 2…

  13. Ufcguy32 Says:

This team continues to just make me want to punch a hole in the gd wall. We had to win. Had to. And we find a way to lose. Tf are we doing

  14. Again Says:

    Past Todd 500 Bowles bedtime

  15. TheBucsAnthem Says:

I was surprised the Bucs choked another one away

  16. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    I wasn’t ^

  17. Bucben1961 Says:

In all the years Todd has been a head coach has he proved himself to be a winner…he pissed away a promising season ..I doubt very seriously they win another game

  18. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Not Since Tony Dungy were the Bucs good in primetime

  19. Ufcguy32 Says:

Losers and those refs should be investigated. I also think the Jalen int was a td….he had control on the ground. He got it after the fact.
No.way in hell that’s a int. This team is a mf joke. Why can’t we just win when it counts. Again 6 damn losing nights and we are finished. No way we win the division. Playoffs are done. What a joke.

  20. BallHawk75 Says:

    26-26

  21. ALfred Says:

The Joe-Joes cost the bucs the game. They kept hyping them, talking playoffs, running the gauntlet and all. WHo listens? The players. They thought they’d walk all over the cowboys. They forgot to tell the cowboys. So good job Joe-Joes.

  22. Buc in VA Says:

Lavonte seemed to have a really off day. That hurt bad.

  23. HeavyE Says:

We will win out and be the South Champs again. Let’s Go BUCS!!!!

  24. MadMax Says:

    Yup

  25. SteveK Says:

This one hurts and it shows our defensive mastermind has zero edge rush and painful results.

  26. A Bucs Fan Says:

@UFCguy32 – Jalen has got to survive the ground in the endzone. The DB came up with the ball therefore it’s an INT. If Jalen had survived the ground it would have been a TD.

  27. gp Says:

    Prime time
And the refs get away with such a poorly called game while the entire nation watches…

  28. Bucben1961 Says:

We went from a 3 seed to see you next year but Todd has cupcakes for everyone

  29. Rod Munch Says:

The game was lost the second that Bowles punting from the Bucs 45 instead of going for it. Everyone who has a brain bigger than the size of a peanut knew the Bucs garbage punter was going to put it in the endzone and the Bucs defense that hadn’t stopped anything all day was going to give up a TD. If you didn’t know that was going to be the outcome, congratulations, you’re as smart as Todd Bowles.

  30. Let ‘em bake Says:

Poor starting field position all night. No Cade ( felt in blockiing receiving, play calling). And still, nearly pulled it off . Good things coming as this team matures.

  31. gp Says:

    A Bucs Fan
The play was over when he crossed the plane with control
    TD

  32. Tackleblockwin Says:

The Bucs need to report to practice tomorrow. None of this Wednesday nonsense.

  33. BucsFan81 Says:

Bye bye Bowles. I hope Joe starts posting articles of coaching candidates and draft position for this team. Instead of dumb articles about being the 3rd seed now they are no seed.

  34. Drunkinybor Says:

Todd is always going to be Todd. Its just that simple as that. Expectations go up we go down. I hated to do it but I bet my buddy 10 bucks we would lose. I just know his pattern of plating down to worse teams. He overthinks things. Its one thing to say how dangerous the cowboys are in press conferences but snicker and be like we are going to kick their a$$ behind closed doors. He played stupid zone and let sink amd dunk mcgruff play like a real boy. Todd is scared always will be. Hes a defense guy period. He doesn’t attack he defends. Time for a change

  35. MadMax Says:

Back to the drawing board…..and first and foremost, Liam as HC…just go retire Todd….i love you man but too many close ones lost….we need someone new and get us going in a new direction

  36. WestCoastBucsFan Says:

I’m glad the money I spent to see them play was last week. That was a fun game. This felt like a return to form–even if they had managed to pull off the win in the end, it would’ve been stressful, which is how it feels watching them too often. Go Commanders! And let’s go Bucs!! Season’s not over yet. If the Cowboys can fight like this knowing they had nothing left to fight for but some rpide and dignity, we can, too. Go Bucs!

  37. BucsBeast Says:

GURU Bowles “AWESOME” defense gave up the booty like street walker looking for a quick buck.

Only if the Falcons lose. Now the entire season is in their hands because the refs handed Atlanta a win vs the Bucs (possibly 2 if you count pylon cam)

  39. BucfaninMi Says:

It’s funny that any of us think our next 2 games are gimmies. They’re not at all

  40. Curse of Gruden Says:

What’s the secret to beat the Bucs?
    Start your second string quarterback!
    Fire Bowles now.

  41. Leighroy Says:

Bucky Irving gets up at 5am, he looked tired today. He’s supposed to be awake again in 5 hours!

  42. A Bucs Fan Says:

@GP Interesting. I’ll have to watch the play again. Did he have control and two feet down before or after he crossed the goal line?

  43. Particular set of skills Says:

    Yeah, we suck, we deserve……
Oh wait, illegal formation on wirfs, int on the end zone, forward progress stopped so no turnover, oh wait fumble but no forward progress ……. Hmmmmmm.

And now I watch tirico and collinsworth gushing over penix in 1 game….. Yeah, I remember Jai Lai in Tampa. Man, I didnt care it was fixed cuz I was15 and drinking beer with my buddies. And wrestling was fake but at least the NFL was rea……… Or was it ever??

  44. View from 132 Says:

Clown show. Pretenders. Why do we waste our time? This is not a serious contender.

  45. MadMax Says:

seasons over….lol….all good, we’ll be back tho

  46. Hearty Dikerson Says:

It’s plain as day: you have a quiet, soft, conservative, anti-social man masquerading as the HC of an NFL team. He’s ne of the primary traits of a football coach is to be a motivational leader of men. Bowles doesn’t display that trait AT ALL. Why is anyone surprised this man can’t inspire this team?

  47. Curse of Gruden Says:

Make the Detroit OC an offer he can’t refuse.
Time to bring this clown show to an end.

  48. HC Grover Says:

If Falcons can beat The Commodes the Bucs are flushed. We hope those Commies help us out and whip the Falcons. But can the Sideline Stiff beat the Panters?

  49. Pahpahmike Says:

I was pretty much looking for the Bucs to lose It’s a consistent thing with them. They did the same thing last year where they could’ve won the division a game or two before the end of the season and they got their asses kicked and barely made the playoffs. Baker has to stop with interceptions also. Nothing against Bowles but under his tutelage the just can’t win a big time/ important game

    Whats the secret?…….

    Pay the refs

  51. Saskbucs Says:

You Bowles defenders will never admit it … but this is where we miss the fire. How many times will we come off a big win to let down the next game or not perform in the national spotlight. Bowles is way too soft. A player coach is great until you lose 3 games a year cause everyone is complacent. Ride butts! Not executing is inexcusable. Dropping passes, fumbling… last I checked the depth at RB and WR was fine. Miller and Jarrett will happily take snaps if McMillan and Shepard don’t wanna get the job done.

I wasn’t able to see much of the game, so my comments don’t hold much weight right now but this shouldn’t have happened. Cooper Rush, Zeke Elliot, Jalen Tolbert… so mad. McCarthy can’t coach his way outta a wet paper bag, but he can out coach Bowles.

I also understand the irony of me calling out fans for praising Bowles and giving us detractors crap after last weeks win… and here I am bashing him after 1 loss… but this is a pattern people! He will never win the big one. That’s all we are after, SB championships, and if the HC can’t do it, WE DONT WANT THAT HC!

  52. Waterboy Says:

Offense was garbage all game. Defense gave up 3 points the whole 2nd half and they still couldn’t do anything.

  53. VOT Says:

Seriously doubt we win another game and really don’t want too, want Bowles and the entire D staff sent packing

I can’t watch this again, we have handed away 5 games this year we should have easily won

He just cannot prepare a team on a consistent basis nor adjust in game until he has been gashed over and over by the same concepts – remember Cheetah Hill a few years ago – it’s like Groundhog Day with Todd

    He is a living rollercoaster

  54. Bucben1961 Says:

Carolina is going to beat the snot out of us next week and Falcons will take care of the Washington whatever’s. Can’t wait to read here all the Todd is great articles…the players love him…who cares…he can’t get them over the hump

  55. Marineinclermont Says:

The team that showed up tonight doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs

  56. MegaFailure Says:

we’re never gonna win a primetime game again

  57. Joshua Says:

Bowles’ performance remains disappointing. Last week was a classic example of an offense making the defense look good. When you’re ahead by so many points, it forces the opposing offense into a one-dimensional game, allowing you to use more exotic blitz packages. We all know that this is largely what Bowles relies on as a head coach and defensive coordinator. That’s why I’ve said that if we lose Cohen and keep Bowles, this team will be in trouble. I understand they found Cohen after Canales, but how many times can you hit a home run in a row? This team wins or loses based on the performance of Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Bucky, and Rashad, scoring 30+ points—not on the defense back….

  58. D-ManTX Says:

Strange game. Cowboys score first and we start playing sloppy. Key drops by Shepherd we’’re painful early on. Where it started to go sideways I think was Bowles uncharacteristically opting to go for it on 4th down early. The aggressive Bucs fans were pretty excited with the call but us more conservative fans were wondering why take that risk. If you fail (which we did), you give the Cowboys a short field and likely 3 pts. I’d think you’d always wanna try to make the Cowboys who’s off is struggling to go 80 yards. Oh well, lessons will be learned hopefully and we win out last two and hope Falcons fall next week.

  59. ReturnGrudenToRing Says:

This is classic buc’s…playing down to their competition. Why would anyone be surprised. Whomever stated that Bowles is a defensive guru needs to be pimp slapped.

  60. AMI_Chris Says:

Your ring of honor GM can’t find a pass rusher.

  61. Capt.Tim Says:

3 times our guy let a cowboy take the ball away from him.
I know what I’d have them doing at the next practice
Learning to hold on to the ball.

No doubt in my Mind that Baker wins that game- if White had kept possession.

So much for repeating. I know we will win the next two- but Commanders have to beat the Falcons.

  62. Pahpahmike Says:

True Saskbucs, that exactly what I was just venting about. It’s just damn frustrating for the last 2 years there’s been just to many games that should’ve been won easily weather it was to win the division or just a much needed important game and the Bucs just go back to their old ways, interceptions, drop passes, bad penalties and the defense have stinks

  63. ModHairKen Says:

Bad time to play badly. Weaknesses exposed. Some guys who have made a lot of money did not perform.

    No way Atlanta chokes again.

    Weak leadership.

  64. Joshua Says:

AMI_Chris and others Blaming the GM…
Currently, it seems that no one is getting sacks in the Buccaneers defense. What if players like Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, YaYa Diaby, Calijah Kancey and others who were drafted by GM Jason Licht to rush the passer were to play under a new defensive coordinator for the Bucs or on a different team? Would they be able to rack up 10+ sacks, or is their lack of production more tied to the current system and coaching? Essentially, how much of their performance is influenced by Todd Bowles’ defensive scheme versus their individual talent?

  65. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

Everyone has given their reasons why we lost. Didn’t score first. Didn’t score on our first possession. Dropped passes. Fumbles. Interceptions. Bad coaching decisions.

    Here’s mine….. Russell’s dropped int. Critical!!

  66. FortMyersDave Says:

Bucs cannot win in primetime or in those cursed creamsicle uniforms. Look, the lack of an edge rush really hurt the Bucs tonight, but Bowles also had way below average clock management tonight and again, the Bucs turned the ball over in crucial times. Another winnable game in primetime lost. Tonight, it looks like Dallas showed up at kickoff and the Bucs did not get their sea legs until the 2nd quarter, this could be the game that get Bowles fired.

  67. FortMyersDave Says:

Joshua, Bowels and his staff have never developed an edge rusher. Remember that guys like JPP and Shaq Barrett were acquired via free agency and a trade. Bowles seems to think that QB pressures are as effective as sacks but it does not seem like that when the opposing offense nickel and dimes the soft zone at will.

  68. Joshua Says:

Yeah but could they rush the passer if they were in a scheme made to help them rush the passer? Could they do that is my question? Or did Licht miss with these players?

  69. FortMyersDave Says:

Joshua, the only way we can find out if these players could be productive in the sack column is to see how they would do under another coaching regime which could very well happen in Tampa if Bowles loses one more game or in the case of a few of these guys like JTS perhaps when they latch onto another team in free agency. Not sure what happened to YaYa, perhaps offenses got film on him and figured out a hole in his game. I hold out hope for Kancey but man, I hope he does not get injured in pre-season yet again. It is like he only gets going after 8 or 10 games…..

  70. MomBucsFan Says:

@gpand @rod munch i.believe .you.nailed it. Horrible ovfficiating. And my daughter and I.both thought the end zone catch was a td. Well. I guess whatever makes jerry Jones happy as he seems to always get what he wants, right? I do feel that we need to get defensive backs who are available for most of the season and not mostly injured. Is that possible?

  71. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Also we haven’t win when we didn’t score score 1st this year, another streak continues

  72. heyjude Says:

Disappointed for sure. Seems like it’s for real about the night games. Could they possibly practice at night inside a few times a season? Maybe going through the rhythm of a night game practice would help somewhat.

  73. Big Red Says:

Did you see all those tackles Todd Bowles missed out there? What a sham.

What about all those blow coverages? Todd couldn’t cover weather on a rainy day.

And my God, Todd has butter fingers for hands, and fumbles the ball more than Biden fumbles at the teleprompter.

If you think NFL players need Todd to coach them how to tackle, catch, cover, or secure a football at this stage, then they should have never got drafted in the first place.

Maybe we just need to draft and sign better football players?

Not getting injured would help — I’m sure that’s Todd’s fault too.
