Good news. (Photo courtesy of Buccaneers.com.)

It is not quite midnight in the City of Angels but it is almost 3 a.m. on the west coast of the east coast back in Tampa.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter of BSPN — only one minute apart — each just Twittered that Bucs rookie running back Bucky Irving is expected to play today against the Chargers.

thats cool but it doesnt say much . he was expected to play last week but had to leave the game. hopefully hes close to 100 percent and wont be reaggravating the problem

  2. 1sparkybuc Says:

Go with White and Tucker for the first half. Keep Irving on the bench if possible. The critical stretch is the final three conference/division games.

  3. A Bucs Fan Says:

Unless he is truly 100% it’ a mistake.

  4. Hodad Says:

Four games left. Division title, and playoff berth on the line. All hands a deck! Wirfs knee, Goedekes head, Bakers ankle, they’re all hurting. Bucky you play.

  5. Badbucs Says:

No time to get cute. Dance with the girl what brung ya. Bucky should play. Rest him some if we get a good lead. We don’t have the luxury of planning for future games. Win now.

  6. Jeff Says:

He’s gonna fumble if he plays hurt. Rest him up. This is Baltimore all over again. Chargers will roll.

  7. Cobraboy Says:

I hope he’s 100%, because the Sparks play some serious D, not to mention the lowest ppg D.

  8. Scotty Mack Says:

All four games are critical, conference or non-conference does not matter at this point. All hands on deck. This is football. Play until you can’t play anymore.

But sure, pull him in the 4th quarter if we have a big lead. Not likely, but the Bucs went into two games this time last year that they were supposed to lose and the Bucs won in blowouts (Green Bay and Jacksonville). Seem to recall a Baker Mayfield perfect passer rating in one of them!

  9. The Placebo Kid Says:

    Paging Sean Tucker

  10. CobbtownBucFan Says:

Expect Bucky to play regardless if it’s likely to further damage him for the season. It’s clear from T. Bowles past behavior that he cares more about an immediate win to save his lackluster butt than the long term wellness and efficiency of his players. If we make it to the playoff’s don’t expect any miracles from this mid level coach.

  11. Bucs 95 Says:

I love me some buckets irving 😏

  12. #99 the big fella Says:

Cobbtownbucfan, isn’t that every coach’s game plan is to win? Not sure what you expect Bowles to do. I want a new head coach next year, but I understand what he is trying to do

  13. Lightningvinny Says:

Let white/tucker take the bulk again play Bucky as needed (if needed)
I agree the next three games we will need him to be ready!!
As far as this being the same as the Ravens game (Jeff) you are correct ,,
Basically the same team as the Ravens minus 2 time MVP at QB, Minus Henry at RB , Minus Andrew’s at TE,, Minus Flowers at WR,,, but besides that they are basically the same offense !
