Mike Evans Dominates

December 26th, 2024

Crazy chart of success.

If you believe these numbers (the source is sketchy), Bucs’ future Hall of Fame receiver Mike Evans is having an insanely good season.

The data for the chart below shows Evans is playing in his own football world and the rest of the NFL is along for the ride.

By way of analyst Judah Fortgang, the numbers are cobbled together using reliable data and splashes of the nonsense PFF tribe grades. (NFL folks think those “grades” are total trash and so should you.)

The chart demonstrates Evans, at the age of 31, is Mossing the rest the league as far as getting open, getting separation and YAC.

(Remember when some used to kvetch about Evans’ YAC?)

Knowing how Evans is atop the league at getting open, did missing Evans for three games this season, specifically against the Chiefs and 49ers, cost the Bucs a win?

Remember, the Bucs took the Chiefs to overtime and the 49ers won on a last-second field goal when the Bucs couldn’t score a game-winning touchdown and had to settle for a tying field goal.

No… Having Todd Bowles as head coach did

Throw the ball to Mike, it doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out.

And yet somehow, they can only get him the ball 4-5x per game, most games.

What a shame. What a waste.

Well this is the time to use him more. I know that they’ve bin easing him back in till the chargers game just to not mess up that hammy again. Cowboys did a good job taking him out the game. They doubled him most of it yet Bowles didn’t want to double lamb so of course lamb n rush ripped us a new one.

Just more whining by somebody who doesn’t know what he is talking about. Throughout ME entire career he has averaged about 5 catches per game. With that, he is on the verge of eclipsing an NFL record for consecutive years greater than 1000 yards, and will be a HOfer. With 100 TD catches, how exactly has ME been wasted? Too many make absolutely clueless comments here and they assert these comments with great certainty.
