Just Win Baby

December 8th, 2024

Bucs channeled Raiders legend Al Davis.

Somewhere, Al Davis would be appalled at what has happened to his beloved Raiders.

The Raiders have now, thanks to the Bucs, lost nine straight. Davis would have been so enraged he very likely would have had dead-man-walking Raiders coach Antonio Pierce fly home from Tampa commercial.

And when Pierce returned to his office in suburban Las Vegas, he’d find his office cleaned out.

The Bucs played sloppy, largely uninspired football today. The Raiders were worse. They seemed sunk when quarterback Aidan O’Connell suffered a leg injury in the third quarter.

Specifics of the injury are unknown but Pierce said the injury “doesn’t look good.”

The Bucs then seemed to wake up and took control of the game. Bucs coach Todd Bowles wasn’t concerned with aesthetics, he said after the game. A win is a win and that’s all that matters.

When Bowles was asked about Baker Mayfield’s bad day, Bowles explained it doesn’t matter so long as you win.

“Any time you turn the ball over three times, that’s going to be tough,” Bowles said. “That’s going to be tough to say he played well, but you got to play winning football.

“We’re not going to be perfect but we have to play winning football, determined football. We didn’t play winning football in the first half. We played winning football in the second half.”

The Bucs lost a fumble and Mayfield threw two picks. Joe understands the Bucs may get away with that playing the trash Raiders. It’s unlikely the Bucs win with three turnovers in Los Angeles next week facing the Chargers.

It’s all about winning. As Davis was famous for saying, “Just win, baby.”

The Bucs did just that today.

They won. And no one can stop them if they continue.

No excuses work. They are paid to win.

They also beat Detroit and Philadelphia

The Falcons play the Raiders on Monday night. Falcons are 2-5 n last seven games. This will not be an easy game for the Falcons who gave up 450 yards to the Vikings. Raiders showed a lot of heart today and have lost 9 straight.

Our pass protection is breaking down…receivers aren’t getting open….and the defense is very soft….missing tackles…other than that….we’re good…

Al Davis and John Madden. Whoopee. Remember the Assassin DB on their team? I am thrilled Bucs beat these SOBs cos I despise them. Baker really needs to seriously study game film this week. I love his gutsiness but not when it threatens to cost my team a win. And god, Bucs have been the walking wounded most of the season. This next game will be against the Chargers in their crib. Do Bucs have a decent punter yet?

  8. Dom Says:

Didn’t play winning football in the 2nd quarter* The first quarter went about as well as you could hope

Next week Bowles will claw his way back to The Bowles Zone and Falcons will dispatch the lowly Raiders. .500 Baby. The next 3 weeks will show who is the best of the worst NFL division.

It is what it is and the truth is the truth no sugar coating. This Bucs team cannot play like they did today in LA next weekend and win. This team needs to practice hard and not just walk through’s all week. The team that wants it more wins. It’s as simple as that

We played winning football in the first quarter. Bowles doesn’t like being up too much though so a 7 min opening drive TD and following it up with another TD drive to make it 14-0 was no good. How are his players supposed to keep an edge after that?

    Todd is Todd.

The apple fell far from the tree when the pumpkin haircutterd dweeb son took over the Raiders. Good lord.
