Jordan Whitehead A Step Closer To Return

December 24th, 2024

Good news.

The Bucs have opened the 21-day window for Jordan Whitehead to come back. Sad thing is with that timeframe it may be too late.

Whitehead injured his pec against the Giants and is on injured reserve. Today’s move to start the clock on his return means at any time in the next 21 days, Whitehead can be activated.

Of course, the Bucs could use him. But given how the Bucs shat the bed Sunday night in Dallas, now the Bucs are the person peering through the window hoping someone would let them into the Wendy’s on Hillsborough Ave.

Help from Whitehead may come too late.

    Don’t despair Joe….its not over till it’s over….

  2. Pewter Power Says:

Does it really matter if Bowles is hyper focused on stopping the run in a passing league? Most people said whitehead wasn’t playing well when he got hurt but despite that bad Dallas game the last two games are division rivals and Bowles should know them well enough by now to get W’s even if they struggle

Shake it off. Win the next two and then the Insane Season starts.

Ain’t no way ATL beats The REDSKINS. And if they do, ain’t no way the Redskins beat the Eagles the next week.

  4. ModHairKen Says:

Pewter Power, don’t know if this is still a passing league. Sands are shifting.

  5. Saskbucs Says:

Wash gets Dallas in week 18 not the eagles, so if Atlanta wins, we need the Cowboys to beat Wash. If the Falcons win this week, I think we are toast, certainly don’t expect Dallas to beat the Commanders if we need them to.

ModHairKen – even if the Redskins win, we’ve got to take care of our own business. Not confident our defense is up to that challenge. LvD, Kancey, and Vea can’t be everywhere all at once.

He has been another disappointment this season. Not the same player for TB as he was prior.

  8. FortMyersDave Says:

Whitehead = a waste of salary. He was boat raced by the opposition when he was healthy this season. Whether it is Whitehead or Bowles incompetence is irrelevant, the guy has played below average. not the same guy who rocked the Super Bowl a few years back..

  9. Citrus County Says:

Don’t overlook the fact that Baker will only have 2 years left under contract. His career could be greatly impacted by circumstances here. If it falls apart with the coaching staff he may choose to leave and some team will pay him. That would negate all the progress that has been made.

When Winfield coming back??? We will take whoever we can get

Pewter Power Washington doesn’t play Philly next week. They play Dallas next week. We need a Christmas miracle if we are going to make the playoffs. I am not as confident Atlanta loses Sunday. The last week of season Tampa is going to need some help from Carolina or Dallas imho and that’s a big IF Tampa wins both division games to close put the season which by no means is a given!

  12. Gipper Says:

Saw some punishing tacklers and great coverage guys in Dallas secondary defense Sunday night. Bucs lack those guys. Even when healthy, Winfield Jr. is overrated and grossly overpaid.

  13. GoneGator Says:

Have we missed him? Seems like the backup safeties have been doing as good a job as the starters did. D-line has played well enough.

It’s everything in between that’s sucked. Scheme or personnel, coach or coaches, something has got to change.

It’d be nice to think we’ll squeak into the playoffs, get our 2 starting safeties back and then we’ll play good D and go on a run but I’m not even a little confident that can/will happen anymore ☹️

It doesn’t even matter, most of us fans were expecting this season to be an improvement. It hasn’t, even if we win out 10-7 from 9-8 from 8-9 is unacceptable. This team has no discipline.

Jordan Whitehead is not a savior especially 1st game off a serious pectoral injury. We have to beat the Panthers team that is now on fire. A few weeks ago they basically beat us and they have gotten better since then. Question Joe–will the Glazers fire Todd Bowles if we lose to the Panthers?
