High “Cutability” And “Hunger” For Bucky Irving

December 26th, 2024

The NFL’s worst defense is owned by the Carolina Panthers, a team that could not stop Bucky Irving earlier this month.

Irving hammered away at Carolina for 25 carries, 152 yards and a touchdown. It was the rookie’s biggest breakout game as a professional.

And now the Panthers are coming to Tampa on Sunday for a must-win game at The Licht House.

As he should be, Tampa Bay head coach Todd Bowles is smitten with his running back.

“His vision and his cutability is outstanding. He can see the holes. He’s hungry,” Bowles told the Buccaneers Radio Network this week. “He has great contact balance and he’s a very good inside zone runner.”

Joe will casually throw in that Irving leads the NFL with the highest catch rate in the league. He’s caught 41 of 43 balls in his direction.

Joe loves how Bowles isn’t shy about throwing major love at his star running back.

Now Joe wants to see the Bucs give Irving another 25 touches on Sunday. Everything is on the line.

Keep the ball in the hands of your best players.

Oh crap. I think that is “coach speak” for, “White will get the bulk of the carries; especially if the game is on the line.”

    True that Lt Dan

I would like to see us get the run game going early, Baker is less frantic when we are effective at that. The O-Line has to be better too, they looked out matched at Dallas the most I have seen this season. Panthers are going to run the ball–that is how they beat Cardinals.

Yes agree. It is clear the Bucs have not figured out coming from behind. Baker gets frantic and just too many breakdowns from fumbles to holding calls, pics, you name it. Don’t get me wrong the offense is light years ahead of the defense, which the team might be better if the defense did not have to take the field.
Anyway, yes the offense seems to hit a comfort level when running the ball. To do that they must be ahead or close. Maybe if Godwin was playing it would be different. However, presently team success depends on playing ahead and running the ball

    Gotta score first, apparently.

Has our defense made a stop on the 1st drive in any games this year when the other team got the ball first?

  6. itzok Says:

Make sure he starts and finishes the Damn game then. Minimum 20 carries
