So the Bucs weren’t ready for prime time and simply were not the better team tonight.
Depressing!
No fluke plays. Just the Bucs defense having not enough answers for almighty Cooper Rush and the Bucs offense sputtering just enough with bad snaps, bad penalties, bad drops, fumbles and some bad quarterback decisions.
The Cowboys’ special teams were better than the Bucs’, too.
Todd Bowles talked on the Buccaneers Radio Network before the game about how the team needed to stay hungry and not let winning get to their heads. Did the Bucs look hungry to you?
Joe’s not knocking the Bucs’ effort, but they sure didn’t look mentally sharp. And they certainly didn’t look like a team with everything on the line.
Dallas (7-8) did look like that team.
Now the Bucs are tied with the Falcons with an 8-7 record, but the Falcons own the tiebreaker. Atlanta heads to hot Washington (10-5) next Sunday night as the Bucs host Carolina that afternoon at 1 p.m.
Bowles moaned about missed tackles and drops in his halftime interview, and rightfully so.
Rush completed 26-of-35 passes for 292 yards with 1 TD and the Bucs only sacked him once. That’s a 74 percent completion rate … for a guy that was completing less than 60 percent of the passes.
Way too many easy looks for Rush, which was the story of the game for Joe. That was a huge factor in Dallas kicking four field goals, most of them long. After all, the Cowboys couldn’t run the ball at all.
Joe’s got no positives out of this game outside of Mike Evans’ streak still being alive.
Painful.

Bucs O-Line was awful most of the nigh and defense can only stop the rush, not good enough. dallas is a physical team and we are not.

Please explain how that that Jalen McMillan 1st catch was overturned?? Caught the ball on his knee! While on his knee. I know it may sound small but that was going to be a touchdown drive instead we punted ! All game they was getting favorable calls! Two games to go and I don’t see Atlanta winning out I also don’t see the Bucs losing anymore.

Bad QB decisions? Baker was the only one who played like the playoffs were on the line. Terrible defense and the receivers let him down

We probably going to lose next week also. Panthers coming for revenge. First year since Brady that we may not get playoff Bucs football. Back to the Yucs and lost decade. It was fun while it lasted.

Too many mystery calls, non-calls; ie, Wirfs being called for the Juwann taylor/chiefs standard lining up, etc…. Yeah, we didnt do enough but damn if this game & its outcome didnt have a “pre-destined” feel to it…. Any given Sunday…… Whatever….
You could almost see it in Evans and Mayfields eyes early on…..

Irvin is never in at clutch time. They will never learn. That’s on Coen. Makes zero sense and yes season is over. Bowles will lose one of these last 2 year too. If you think Toilet is going to win 10 games in a season you are out of your mind. Guy is a 9-8 8-9 coach every season. Yet he will be on the sidelines again next year running his crap defense out there blaming communication with guys who have been running the same defense for years. Disgusting loss but one most of us knew were coming.

Bowles Defense reached it’s ceiling in SB win. His HC pattern here is a team thats nothing special, won’t finish the job. We need a better leader. That was pitiful the hunger we lacked 2nite on D. Sick of this bs

A lot was exposed tonight. Pass rush was embarrassing. Pass coverage even worse. The drops. The inability to break up a pass. Players running the wrong way. And Rashaad White reverts to bad.
This is a decent team. And a bunch of hags will be gone next year.

Just not prepared for taking care of business tonight. The Bucs need to be a scrappier team. They play without urgency and show weakness against teams with more hard nosed players. Too much finesse, not enough fire and fight. They just aren’t built to beat teams that bully them. The Cowboys were certainly not afraid of the Bucs tonight. Too much media BS about these guys. The way Philly or Washington played today was so much more impressive than the Bucs efforts and preparation.

We all knew this may happen !! The Bucs lose one game out of the last 7 and finish 10 – 7. So hang in there, it’s still very much possible, all we have to do is beat the Panthers and the Saints, (both games are played on our home turf) and we win the NFC South and make the playoffs!! This is still very much possible !! Providing the Falcons loss to the Commanders on 12/29/24 !!
