Chucky Jumps On The Baker Mayfield Bandwagon

December 17th, 2024

Feelin’ “nicey.”

Chucky is fired up!

The first Bucs Super Bowl-winning coach now works for Barstool Sports. And among his many duties is he gives a “Nicey” report that offers what makes him feel nicey about games each weekend.

This week, Chucky picked four quarterbacks from Sunday that made him feel really nicey. The first was Baker Mayfield.

Chucky was fully stoked for how Mayfield and the Bucs went into Los Angeles and took the Chargers to the woodshed. Joe cannot begin to do it justice, so you are going to have have to watch it for yourself.

If the video link below doesn’t load, you’ll have to click on the link above to get the full Chucky experience. It’s worth your time.

  2. Teacherman Joe Says:

    MVP! MVP!

    We are Super Bowl bound.

This team is full of characters.

LaVonte David and Mike Evans and Gholston will get their second ring.

And Baker Mayfield will get his first.

And all the Bowles trolls will swallow their words.

  3. Gipper Says:

Watched it. Gruden needs to be medicated. Disturbing stuff.

  4. rrsrq Says:

Truly has embraced all of the Chucky doll

  5. Bucs Fan Since ‘76 Says:

    Awesome!

  6. heyjude Says:

Yikes, he is definitely Chucky! That was a horror Christmas short take that can give you nightmares. Loved what he said about Baker, “Just ripping them!”

  7. KABucs Says:

That was great! I love Chucky!

And I just happen to have the video settings on closed caption for no apparent reason. At the very end when he said “Let’s go Buffalo!… Close caption instead shows “Let’s Go f-bomb below!” That’s pretty funny! Try it.

  8. OHBucFan Says:

Fully agree MHK. Gruden needs to be coaching one of the NY teams. Now that would be entertaining.

  9. A Bucs Fan Says:

    That was awesome!

  10. Durango 95 Says:

I will never figure out the attraction some dudes have with this guy. Maybe it’s for those that like watching the same movie over and over again. I could see how his schtick might appeal to a middle school kid. Beyond that, I got nothing.

  11. TampaBayBucFan Says:

    TBBF’S favorite Buc coaches…….BA & Gruden…….hazard a guess why?

  12. ElioT Says:

He must have spent all that MNF & Raiders money huh?

  13. BucsfaninOregon Says:

HairyKen…..Nice sneaky way to get your political views on display. I thought this was a Buc blog.
    Joe?????

  14. First Name Greatest Says:

Man am I glad he’s not coaching here

  15. A Bucs Fan Says:

The irony of the comment Ken made and then a Buc fan in Oregon tattling like a five year-old is hilarious.

  16. SmoothBayRider Says:

Anybody ever hear from NDog ? I wonder if @Joe is ever gonna tell us his new name ?

  17. Jethro Tull Says:

I don’t get the hate against him. And for the imbecile who said he’s a racist…..ask Warren Sapp about that. No way he’s a racist.

  18. Larrd Says:

Folks like Gruden because he won a Super Bowl in Tampa.

Ever wonder why all his former players never talk about how racist he is?

    Hope that helps!

  19. GoneGator Says:

Gruden is just another loud mouth at this point.

  20. Leopold Stotch Says:

I never really got to see Gruden like this… He really DOES look like Chucky…

  21. Ed Says:

Gruden won that Superbowl in ’02 at 12-4, that was fantastic. But after that, with nearly the same team in ’03 the Bucs were 7-9 and failed to make the playoffs with 4 Hall of Famers on the starting defense- Sapp, Brooks, Barber and Lynch.

The following season the Bucs went 5-11 with the same 3 HOF’s except Lynch was let go.

At that point the Bucs were in free fall. Gruden did get ’05 squad back in the playoffs but they were knocked out at home with the controversial incompletion to Edell Sheppard only scoring 10 points in the loss to Washington (a wild card).

Gruden was an average coach but his personel decisions after he got rid of Rich McKay were worse, especially how many wasted high draft picks he blew, these guys were all picked 1-3 under Gruden:

Marquise Walker, Dwayne White, Chris Simms, Michael Clapton, Marquis Cooper, Barrett Rudd, Alex Smith (not the QB, TE), Maurice Stovall, Gaines Adams, Sabby Piscatelli, to name a few.

He did hit on Devin Joseph, Cadillac William and Jeremy Trueblood to be fair.

Gruden had 2 great seasons, a 12-4 record and SB in ’02 and a 11-5 division record in ’05. However he also had a 5-11 record in ’04 and a 4-12 record in ’06.

He was an average coach who won 57 games and lost 55 while coaching the Bucs from ’02-’08 so lets remember he had 2 great seasons, 3 bad seasons and 2 average seasons. This is an opinion but I don’t think he was ever a top tier coach.

  22. White Tiger Says:

Great coach, educated, insightful, and entertaining podcaster!

    I’m all in on CHUCKY!

  23. Jethro Tull Says:

Moronism is rampant. The 2003 squad was so decimated with injuries we had a parking lot attendant starting at CB. Jurevicius and Alstott took each other out for the season on the same play. Dexter Jackson left in free agency and Flip was injured. Ronde was at 60%. McCardell was the Bucs only weapon. And the trade for Gruden sent prime draft capital for him.

    Moronism is rampant.

  24. AstralTurf Says:

Dungy was fired for not getting the Bucs over the hump, but I’ve heard that the Glazers just weren’t interested in gambling by giving him a long term deal…like say the Rooneys…which resulted in the fact that no top flight OC wanted to come here and work for a HC with short deals. But a top flight OC was prolly all he needed.

  25. toopanca Says:

Joe, thanks for spreading the Christmas cheer!

    Nicey! Nicey!

  26. scholarbrawler22 Says:

Identity politics never belonged in the NFL and now they’ve been rejected by the majority of the citizens in the USA . Stop it! We are all equal and sick of it!!!!!!!!

  27. Matt Says:

Bucs would have never won that Super Bowl without Gruden and Dungy would have never won his Super Bowl without going to a team that already had a high powered offense. Dungy deserves credit for the Bucs defense of those years but ultimately Kiffen (RIP big guy) was the mastermind behind such a great defense. Mad respect still for Tony Dungy as he was able to take us from the Sucks to the Bucs but a lot of that was also the glazers (love or hate em) being willing to raise and spend money. I don’t understand the hate for Gruden. He’s absolutely a crazy SOB but that is what greatness requires. I’d love to see some of the other emails from the so called investigation, although I’m not excusing what was in Gruden’s emails, I’d like to see what NFL ‘leadership’ including the team owners had said during those times as well.

  28. UKBuccaneer Says:

Gru is a career .500 coach. Never forget that.

  29. GoneGator Says:

“Gruden is a huge Kirk Cousins fan (his brother coached him), and he thinks Atlanta could be in the NFC title game.”

From September. Chucky is just another loud guy with an opinion at this point.

  30. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Matt

All due respect but Dungy was the mastermind behind that Defense, think back to his Minnesota DC days. If you want to get really specific, it was Bud Carson’s Defense that Tony implemented here and that Monte masterfully executed.

There’s no doubt that Gruden brought lightning in a bottle for one year, but the fact remains he’s a .500 coach whose offenses averaged 1.1 more points per game more than Dungy’s

    1.1 points.

  31. Larrd Says:

He built a Raiders offense that was one of the best ever, if I recall.

  32. orlbucfan Says:

Gruden was dumb enough not to delete some nasty email on his work computer. That why Lzv canned his arse. He won with Dungy’s Defense and it was Dungy who brought in Kiffin, not vice-versa. Not impressed with the Reddington Beach egomaniac.

  33. orlbucfan Says:

  34. David Says:

    Belongs in Ring!
