Changes To Bucs’ Injury Report

December 19th, 2024

Tight end Cade Otton.

Good news and troubling news on today’s Buccaneers injury report.

The bad: rookie nickel cornerback Tykee Smith remains limited in practice with his lingering knee issue. Smith didn’t look to be his usual attacking self Sunday against the Chargers. Tight end Cade Otton remains out of practice with a knee injury.

Also limited was receiver Sterling Shepard with a foot injury. Joe never wants to see “foot” next to a receiver’s name, especially a go-to guy with 30-plus catches this season.

Out sick was punt returner/forgotten receiver Trey Palmer.

The good: Baker Mayfield’s new knee issue seems to be nothing. He was a full participant in practice.

Sack machine defensive lineman Logan Hall was full-go with shoulder and wrist issues. Hall quietly has 4 1/2 sacks this season.

Dallas is missing key players so tie up the excuses get out there and continue to secure the 3 seed. This team has proven it can win with major injuries so there no more worries about the injury report if it’s not baker Bucky or up front

  2. Bucsfan Says:

Everybody is hurting this time of year. If your team has a bunch of injuries, 50% of the other teams do not care and the other 50% are happy about it.

  3. A Bucs Fan Says:

Durham is not fast but he can catch, and his blocking is good. We know Ko can block. Might be a game we see what Culp can do in the pass game.

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Otton is key…..let Tykee heal….it seems like some of our players are coming back too soon….

  5. Lt. Dan Says:

“Sack machine defensive lineman Logan Hall…” LOL. Good one!

  6. BuxfaninTX Says:

Liam seems to do a great job with a scheme to his players. Should not be an issue

  7. Permanently Moderated Says:

I assume the Logan Hall comment is satire.

  8. JTHV Says:

Joe, not quite sure of the new ad platform you’re using for the holiday season but please stop paying for it. I cannot look at your site on my phone without involving myself in a science project.

  9. Jethro Tull Says:

Trey Palmer has turned into the modern Jaylen Darden. He can’t play.

  10. BucsfaninOregon Says:

Uhhh, sack machine, not so sure of that. I guess that is in line with our other sack machine, JTS.

  11. Buc4evr Says:

Thank goodness JTS isn’t on the injury report….. lol.

  12. Simeon4HOF Says:

“Sack machine Logan Hall … did spit out all of my drink lol .. rofl

  13. unbelievable Says:

Otton is probably the biggest concern, followed closely by Tykee Smith.

Really need them both! Dak might not be playing but Dallas still has weapons on both sides of the ball! I think they’re a more dangerous oppoenent than the hobbled Chargers.

  14. Pickgrin Says:

How does Tristan Wirfs missing practicing both Wednesday and Thursday not merit a mention??

  15. Fred McNeil Says:

I have noticed improvement in Logan Hall too. It is a contract your gorgeous him cuz I think we drafted him in 2021. Obviously we are certainly not going to franchise tad him, but he’s worth keeping if the price is right.

  16. orlbucfan Says:

H3ll, our defense has been the walking wounded for most of the season. So, like what else is new?

  17. A Bucs Fan Says:

@Pickgrin because he’s been missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday since his injury. He’s playing hurt.

  18. firethecannons Says:

Joe says,”Sack machine defensive lineman Logan Hall” lol

  19. Jethro Tull Says:

Half of the NFL is the walking wounded. Any so called ”fan” using the injury excuse any more look no further than Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions. A coach who accepts accountability when he fails (and the only reason the Bucs won in Detroit). A coach who is prepared to get whatever gardeners and bartenders he has ready to play. And will not never ever accept injuries as an excuse for losing.

  20. Boge Says:

Not sure why people are making fun of Hall. He’s 4th on the team in sacks and he’s improving and starting to make plays. Hopefully it keeps going.

Dave, your argument makes no sense….You reference Buc’s fans making excuses regarding injuries but then compare these Buc’s fans to Detroit’s head coach in an attempt to make our HC look bad? How is this logical?

How about Detroit fans? Are they making excuses – probably.
Is our head coach making excuses? No. Have you watched any of his press conferences lately? I have and he’s been accountable and made no excuses for injuries effecting outcomes. Actually it’s been pretty much the opposite.

    you’re either a sack machine or a love machine…

    which one is he……?

  23. heyjude Says:

Loving “Sack machine Logan!” We are going to be okay. So many injuries around the league.

Good to see you Pickgrin! Hope Defense Rules and Dave Pear are okay. It’s been awhile. I may not always agree with Dave, but enjoy the conversations.

  24. SlyPirate Says:

    LOGAN HALL!!!!!
    >Logan Hall = 4.5. Yaya + JTS + Braz = 4.5.

    Show the man some love!
