Calf Injury For Mike Evans

December 4th, 2024

So Bucs officials have verbalized that Mike Evans’ injured hamstring is 100 percent healthy and Evans has a green light on the field — even though the deep shot to Evans seems to be out of the offense.

But Evans had a heck of a game Sunday, his best yardage production since his kick-ass effort against Detroit in the playoffs.

All good, right?

Maybe not.

The Bucs pumped out their official injury report this afternoon, the first of the week, and Evans appears with a calf injury. That’s new.

No word on when/how it happened, but the report claims Evans would not have practiced today if the Bucs had a real practice.

The hamstring also remains on the injury report, as it was before Sunday’s game.

Joe will note that November hamstring issues for Jamel Dean and Zyon McCollum disappeared from the Bucs’ injury report last week while Evans’ remains.

Heal fast, Mike!

Evans is going to play guys relax

  2. TampaBayBucFan Says:

Evans has played hurt most of the time……every time he gets hit he looks like he’s headed to IR……but comes back in.

I expect he’ll play well Sunday.

Just like CMC…beginning of the end. Mike doesn’t get as much punishment as a WR but no beats old age. Thanks for the memories Mike. Hopefully, we get one more year.

  4. Ben Says:

No shot he misses this game

  5. Buc2Blame Says:

Father Time, may need to target a recover in the first round 🤷🏾‍♂️

  6. Oxycondomns Says:

would be 100 percent by now if he skipped ravens game or at least came out after first td catch when he was noticeably limping on sidelines

  7. Scotty Mack Says:

Some people here are ridiculous. Evans has battled hamstring issues his entire career. This is the first year that he missed more than a couple weeks with the problem. I don’t know … maybe the injury was worse this time (it happens – especially with hamstring injuries).

Sure, doom and gloom people, make it all about age. Then explain away the numerous hamstring injuries to other guys on the team that are ten years younger.

  8. BucsFan81 Says:

A 70 percent Evans is better than any WR left on this team that is not injured.

  9. SenileSenior Says:

    Y’all said it, Scotty Mack.

Mike is going to be doing something should he get one thousand yards this year.

    Go Bucs!!

  10. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

Mike will get his 100 yards this game – but I hope the offense doesn’t try to force feed Mike as it throws off the rhythm imo.

  11. David Says:

Assuming he is healthy, I do not understand why they don’t have 1-2 deep shots a game to Evans. They have a great running game, a great couple of backs to dump it off too, & a great receiver screen game. Seems like it’s easy enough at some point during the game to set up a deep shot.

  12. ThatAintRight! Says:

Tbh no reason he can’t get his 100 yards a game from the slot acting almost as a TE for us I’d think but maybe I am wrong I do not know the extent of his injuries after all.

He very well finally doesn’t seem like he’s getting 1,000 what do I know!!

100 per game @ 5 games left , vs where he’s at now is what 900 something? I mean he’d have to play TE2 basically and it would have to be him and Otton splitting it up left and right almost but it probably could be done.

Those 6-10 yards really do add up!

Troubling news, but we know Mike. He will be there, heart and soul. Like others commented, he has played injured before. And right now the NFL has many injuries, the youngest and older. Hoping Mike gets his yardage too.

  14. EasyEd Says:

Mike’s greatest football accomplishment is making Johnny Manziel look like an NFL-calibre passer. During the bad years, he gave us something to be proud of.

I just hope Mike is smart enough to leave the game under his own power. He;s getting hurt more often now and long in the tooth. If I were him, I’d play one more year and walk off into the sunset. But so many of these guys cannot and will not do this. its getting time for him.
