Cade Otton, Antoine Winfield & Sterling Shepard Ruled Out

December 27th, 2024

No big surprises on the Bucs’ injury list entering Sunday’s game against the Panthers, only big names.

Safety Antoine Winfield, Jr. (knee) was ruled out today by Todd Bowles, as was No. 1 tight end Cade Otton (knee) and veteran receiver Sterling Shepard (1 bad hamstring and 31 catches).

It’ll be Winfield’s seventh missed game of the season.

Still, the Bucs will have more than enough talent on the field against the 4-11 Panthers.

Will it be enough?

    ummmmmm yeah…..season is over kiddos!

Even if the Bucs had won in Dallas, the Bucs are so banged up that I truly don’t even see them making it out of the first round.

I truly cannot remember a season where the Bucs has had so many starters and impact players injuried in one season and for extended amounts of time too….. crazy!

  3. First Last Says:

At this point idc how many INT’s that Baker gets he just needs to feed Mike Evans

  4. Mark Says:

Plenty of talent…anyone trust that the team will come out focused and play mistake-free football? In all likelihood this is going to be another mistake-fest nail-biter. Hopefully the Bucs win, but we will be reaching for the whisky, with double doses of Tylenol all around…as the witching hour starts.

  5. PSL Bob Says:

C’mon dudes. Yes there are a lot of injuries, but the negativism far exceeds what this team is capable of. The Bucs will beat the Panthers handily and the Dirty Birds will fall to the Commandos and we’ll be sitting pretty for another Division championship and a playoff spot. Tis the Season!

  6. BUC4L Says:

    Just run the damn ball!

  7. I may be crazy but Says:

It’s time to look at the medical and conditioning stall. Wonder if DEI is in effect at One Buc Place.

  8. I may be crazy but Says:

    Corr….staff.

AWJ has missed 12 games in a little under 4 yrs. Imo, that’s not worth being highest paid. Top 10 definitely, but don’t act like he’s Ed Reed, who btw only missed 6 games (in 2005) his 1st 7 years in the league.. Sure AWJ’s great when he’s 100%, but he’s rarely 100%. Nobody is 100% this time of yr in the NFL, but they play. Would have rather seen the money spent on a consistent edge rusher than on a safety with one freakishly anomalous pay me season.

  10. Henry Says:

Yeah, I agree they dropped the ball with AWJ contract. I would rather have spent the money on raising the overall talent across the team.

  11. Kayla Says:

Falcons will beat Washington. Just as I said here the Bucs would lose to Dallas. Book it.

  12. Ugo Says:

What?! Winfield legitimately won us at least 3 games since last season and kept us alive in countless others. He has been injured a lot this year so of course he has been less than stellar. If he doesn’t pick up play next year, then you can tell at the clouds about his contract. Until then, quit being overly dramatic about it

  13. HC Grover Says:

Playoff cash is on the field. BUCS will clobber them

  14. Lt. Dan Says:

I really like how Shepard was coming along. Between him and an improving Jalen Mac..maybe a resigned Godwin, the Bucs look strong at WR next year.

  15. Woodenman Says:

Yea Kayla and will you show your face if it doesn’t happen. We shall see?

  16. JoeSea Says:

I swear Bucs fans would B Moan & Complain all the way to the 1 seed if we were KC this year.

Prob not our year (ever since Godwin went down tbh). But I’ll take this over anything pre Arians and post Gruden.

  17. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    @ Lt. Dan

CG will not play for the Bucs next season. CG was already a “maybe” preinjury, but not he’s on IR….the bucs will not pay him what he wants next season with risk of him getting injured again……it’s just smart buisness/team management decision.

I love CG and I think he’s the ULTIMATE team guy, so I’ll be sad seeing him wearing another teams uniform next season.

  18. Aceofaerospace Says:

As long as toilet bowels is head coach, no game is safe.

  19. Dewey Selmon Says:

JMac catches the ball when he is wide ass open, anything contested and he doesn’t. He is slight in stature and needs to bulk up, Shepard is more style than substance and needs to be replaced next year.

  20. Kenton Smith Says:

I think Izien being out hurts more than Shepard. Winfield can’t be replaced. But it’s Otten that we’ll miss the most. Our offense didn’t look “right” without him last week. His chip blocking was missed last week keeping Baker under pressure and his yards after catch and 3rd down savvy and experience is irreplaceable. He’s a leader not only for the offense but for the whole team. Without him this game Sunday has become alot more difficult. Hope he’s back soon or we won’t go much further.

  21. Jeffrey Becker Says:

we ought’n come up with a plan that doesn’t rely on seal blocks too much

  22. Marky mark Says:

Big game for the kid from Furman

  23. Mac Says:

Kayla…agree. Falcons are beating Washington Sunday night. I feel very confident about it. Bucs blew their chance. Watch how Atlanta comes out firing and how a defense should look when in control of their destiny unlike Tampa last week. Nfl has done everything for Atlanta this season with so many bs calls to aid their winning. They obviously want them in the playoffs and they have their story now with a rookie qb to come in and save the day. We all know how the NFL loves a good story.

  24. Mac Says:

Godwin played his last game as a Buc sadly. He will go wherever Coen goes. If you think Coen is staying you are sadly mistaken. He’s going to take alo of our staff too cause they see what we see. Bowles doesn’t have it as a HC. Never has and never will!

  25. orlbucfan Says:

Well, gee whiz, so I’m reading about all the injuries plaguing the Bucs. I’ve been carrying on about it pretty much all season. CG14 will be back as a Buc. His problem is the two DIRTY season ending injuries he has sustained in his career lower his market value. I’m hoping he doesn’t retire. We have got to have stability in our coaching staffs. This 3 OCs in 3 years crap has to end! Are all the hot shots like the Chiefs, Lions, Eagles, Buffalo going through that crap? Nope, and you bet it makes a BIG difference!

  26. Jethro Tull Says:

The hits just keep on coming.

  27. Bakerfan Says:

Winfield a disastrous regression that Licht paid too much for. Maybe next year he gets it together
