Bucs Played Pissed Off On Offense

December 29th, 2024

If Liam Coen coached the Bucs in an angry mood last week, do you blame him?

And he probably wasn’t the only guy attached to the offense who was peeved.

The way the Bucs’ offense played, specifically in the first half today, Coen and the offense need to be that angry each week.

The Bucs had six possessions in the first half. They scored on their first five giving them a 27-7 lead on the Stinking Panthers.

Joe doesn’t blame Coen if he was p!ssed in the days leading up to Sunday.

The Bucs offense clobbered the playoff-bound Chargers just like they did to Carolina in the first half today. But against Dallas? It was shameful how the Bucs showed up. Sloppy play. Almost appeared unprepared.

Joe asked Bucs left tackle Tristan Wirfs about the offense. Joe mentioned to him it appeared the offense played peeved and upset that they let the game in Dallas get away from them.

“Yeah, that’s pretty good,” Wirfs said of Joe’s observation. “I think we just knew what we needed to do. We had to come out fast.”

And start fast the Bucs did. The Bucs are now 9-1 when scoring first.

“That was pretty huge,” Wirfs said. “That kick-started everything.”

In the first half alone, the Bucs racked up 347 yards of offense (551 yards for the game).

If Coen gave his offense a tongue-lashing for their shameful early showing in Dallas, then hats off to him. The Bucs had to do something to jolt the offense, a kick in the posterior to wake them up.

The pass defense is so far gone Joe isn’t sure Bobby Knight could get their attention. What good would hollering do?

The offense? It’s too good to play flaccid football like it did in Dallas.

Last week was drunk football…(i dont mean anyone was drunk) just a term, bot you just couldnt figure out what just happened. We learned from it and now lets expect drunk f ery all the time from here out….calculate, backup, calculate, check again.

  3. Tye Says:

BUT can they play like that against mediocre teams much less winning teams?…
Not on defense thats for sure!

Hopefully Licht is smart enough to know he needs a change at HC if he EVER wants the Bucs to be a WINNING team!

  4. Marky mark Says:

Need to day the same for how many games are left

Tye, do you mean can the beat medicore teams like the Lions, Commanders, Eagles and Chargers? Apparently they can and have.

    ^^^^

At least Bowles commented on the record that the safeties needed to get their heads out of their arse but I get the feeling that once again it was in response to fan criticism.

JBF. You just laid out the argument for promoting Coen and firing Bowles. If Bucs miss the playoffs it will be due to the horrid defense coached by a supposed defensive guru. Rookies thrive in Coen’s offense yet veterans struggle in Bowles defense.

  12. Pewter Power Says:

Makes you wonder how they could have been beaten by the Cowboys. Apparently all they need to do is lose knowing they’ll play pissed off the next week, that’ll get you to .500 right there. Little luck here and there like say falcons and chiefs and we’re slightly above mediocre under Bowles. that would make a lot of people around the bay happy for some reason.

Vinny from NYC: But can they do it when it counts: in the playoffs?
    Smart money says, NO!

  14. Hydra Says:

ME13 so much > obj13. They both got rings though so can’t be a hater, it worked out that way it did. Teams change so much year to year now need to seize the moment. Go Commanders!?
