1,000 Yards Could/Should Come Sunday For Bucky Irving

December 24th, 2024

Bucky Irving is so special, Bucs fans have come to rely on him having a standout game every week.

That didn’t happen Sunday, but Irving still performed well: 16 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. And he had three more catches for 24 yards.

It was certainly a solid game, just not by Irving standards, which illustrates what a gem the Bucs have in the fourth-round rookie.

On the year, Irving now has 920 yards rushing on only 168 carries. That’s 5.5 yards per rush, the most efficient season by a Buccaneers full-time running back in history. Perhaps even more impressive is Irving leading the NFL in catch percentage at 95.3 percent. He’s caught 41 of 43 targets for 320 yards.

Hopefully, Irving hits the 1,000-yard rushing mark on Sunday. He already has the most yards among rookie running backs. But hitting the stud benchmark of 1,000 with still one game remaining would make Irving’s remarkable season that much more special.

The Panthers, Sunday’s opponent, had absolutely no answer for Irving in their first meeting — 25 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown.

Joe sure would like to see Carolina be forced to stop a steady and early diet of Irving. Make them prove they can do it.

Were I to put money on this game, I’d put it on the Panthers. I don’t think we can beat them

Geeez Beeej you got the wrong site you can’t put your money down here. But if you’re wanting to give away money like your suggesting up there⬆️ I’m sure a few people will take it. Let’s go bucs

  3. BigBucsFan Says:

Bucky gets 80+ on the ground vs. Panthers plus 3 catches and a td. Put it on the board

  4. Jethro Tull Says:

He’s got to be on the field. So he won’t be.

Panthers won’t lay down for us, but we should still beat them.

  9. D-Rok Says:

If the Kitties stack to stop the run, get Evans the ball. Hard to stop both.

    Go Bucs ! ! !

  10. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

And that should lead to Mike Evans having a good game as well. This offense goes thru those two. All the other players are simply grease on the gears

Man didn’t realize how close he was to that mark! Too bad the defense couldn’t force more 3 & outs because he would’ve already made that mark. And to think there’s a fanboi or two up here who pine for Rachaad White to still be the #1 back!

  12. Bartow Buc Says:

If Bucky is healthy he’ll rush for 140-150 yards against the Panthers. He is truly an amazing back. I’m sure White will still feed off of Bucky’s plays so our run game will continue to be solid.

Keep fighting Bucs !! Beat the Panthers!!
