Todd Bowles Doesn’t Want To Hear About An Easy Schedule

November 14th, 2024

Can’t bank on wins.

A whole lot of Bucs fans are putting significant stock in the final seven games of the season, thinking the Bucs will wake up and start playing winning football.

This hope is largely rooted in the fact that six of the remaining seven games come against trash teams. Joe guesses people are way overlooking how the Bucs defense is playing lousy ball as well.

The hope that the Bucs can stomp on the perceived Little Sisters of the Poor of the NFL was shared with head coach Todd Bowles earlier this week.

Bowles didn’t want to hear about it.

If the Bucs are banking on wins just because a team is struggling, the Bucs will join those trash teams watching the playoffs from the comfort of their couches — or at a beach bar in the Dominican, Bowles said in so many words.

“The schedule doesn’t get easier,” Bowles asserted. “This is the NFL. You’re not playing anybody that’s soft on the schedule.

“Everybody has first-round picks and athletes and everybody is well coached so if we come back from the break thinking the schedule is easier, we’re going to lose every game. We’re going to lose every last game.”

Bowles has a point. Many of the guys from those bottom-feeders will be balling out because they’re on a contract year, trying to put out good tape. Coaches might be working for their jobs.

No team will roll over and ask the Bucs to rub their bellies.

The way the Bucs are playing, Joe doesn’t see them pounding Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers in mid-December. They’re playing good, physical football right now.

Well, he sure is right on that one. Counting on them NOT to fall apart but I don’t feel good about it.

“Todd Bowles doesn’t want to her about an easy schedule” With the way his defense is playing, he should be terrified”.

Not to pee in anyone’s corn flakes this morning but I think 4 of the next 5 games are on the road.

  4. Pewter Power Says:

Todd Bowles is the head coach so there is no such thing as an easy win. Coaches decisions will easily cost at least 1-2 L’s

Todd is right. Don’t take anything for granted. And luck has a lot to do with it too, including ref calls and non-calls. Go Bucs!

  6. Razor Ramone Says:

We Stink at home. Go Bucs.

  7. Viktor Vaughn Says:

Anyone else getting frustrated at the fact that we keep kicking the ball through the end zone on every kick off? Our defense is not built to stop anyone in the modern nfl at this point and spotting everyone 30 yards is making it so much worse. I’d like for us to try and kick some before the end zone and take a chance on tackling and forcing some fumbles. I despise everything about the new kickoff rule.

With Bowles as HC, all teams are competitive against the Bucs.

Bowles is right, there are no easy games. Even Carolina is getting better.

Licht needs to sit down with Bowles – Bowles is gone unless this turns around, and Bowles needs to ditch the Don’t Lose mentality. Bowles’ defense sits back in its passive Charmin-soft zone trying not to lose. Instead we need aggressive tight coverage playing to win.

More evidence of Bowles’ bad coaching: Carlton Davis is a highlight reel in Detroit since he escaped Bowles – and he is energized by Dan Campbell.

History tells us that we could win half the remaining games give or take an extra win or loss.

That plus an inept HC, terrible defense, predictable strategy in crucial situations, QB1 with a historical losing record and not a big game pressure player, injuries to our best receivers, and an overall losing mentality.

We are what our record says we are.

My guess is anywhere from 9-8 to 7-10.

Ha, I’m sure he don’t because if he loses any of those so called “easy games” he is definitely going to be fired, but let’s not be Dallas cowboys and start being rational or making left radical decisions. Make it make sense or don’t do it.

Harbaugh should have been Tampas hire last year after Mr. 500 pulled it out of his a$$

  14. unbelievable Says:

He doesn’t want to hear about it because he knows he’ll find ways to lose to these pathetic teams (Chargers excluded).
