Teeing Up A Blowout Bucs Win

November 29th, 2024

Joe is fired up for another beatdown Bucs victory on Sunday.

The Panthers defense is one of the worst in the NFL (30.2 points per game), and Joe saw a whole lot of loaf and quit from it Sunday in the Chiefs’ game-winning drive.

The Chiefs just dropped 30 on the Panthers, which was the most points in regulation Kansas City has scored all year. And that was with the Panthers at home coming off their bye week.

Before the bye? The Giants ran all over Carolina for 167 yards, a game the bumbling Giants could have won if not for their overtime fumble.

Imagine that. The Giants taking a team to overtime.

Consider that when asked on the Buccaneers Radio Network this week about what he sees in the Panthers’ offense, Todd Bowles paused and first mentioned Deven Thompkins (yes, that Deven Thompkins) as a dangerous player on Carolina.

Thompkins has 3 catches this season for 13 yards.

Sunday against the Chiefs, another ex-Buccaneer on the Carolina roster, receiver David Moore, had his best regular season game in 4 years to help keep Carolina close. Some truly special catches were had by Moore, and Joe was happy for the guy, but the Panthers can’t count on a No. 4-caliber receiver playing like that consistently.

The Panthers were not good in the red zone Sunday but rallied for a late touchdown and a 2-point conversion.

Is Panthers QB Bryce Young playing better? Yes, but that doesn’t say much, and Joe sees a guy that throws a lot of ugly incompletions — and a guy that will help the Bucs’ defense get off the field.

If the Bucs play like they did against the Giants on Sunday, then “this Joe” sees a similar commanding result. The Bucs offense just has too much firepower and no NFL team allows more first downs than the Panthers.

Joe also could see a Panthers letdown after an emotional loss to the Chiefs, which felt like Carolina’s Super Bowl coming off their bye.

It really should be 30-0 by the third quarter.

  2. Buc4evr Says:

Ha, it’s the Bucs defense …. I expect the Panthers to play hard and dirty. Nothing is a given in the NFL.

Last time there was an article like this was before Denver. Oof.

  4. #1bucsfan Says:

If the Bucs are serious they will put the panthers to bed like we did the giants. I too thought that the giants game would go a diff way but the Bucs proved me wrong which I’ll take every time.

Not really sure how the Panthers hung 27 points on the Chiefs. It was 27-16 at the end of the third quarter! They did sack Mahomes 5 times which surprised me. They’ll need to keep Chuba Hubbard in check if they plan to dominate the game. Thielen is always someone who can move the chains and keep drives alive. Hopefully we can continue playing well and get to 6-6.

  6. Bucs And Them Says:

This should be a blowout win but,……we’ll see. Division games, you can throw the win/loss records out the window. If we’re not totally focused, motivated, and sharp, it would be a dang shame. 31- 13 Bucs.

My first thought was this ☝️☝️

I have watched this team “pull defeat from the jaws of victory” many times, so whatever, hopefully they again play well this week and not down to the competition

    GO BUCS!!!!!

  8. Pewter Power Says:

Is it really going to be a blowout? Settle for the win. Carolina was horrible up until 3 weeks ago so all those stats make them look horrible. It’s like the Bucs, one week of good defense against a trash team and suddenly their defensive rankings are forgotten. Easy win but a blowout against the giants doesn’t make every game a blowout.

  9. Beeej Says:

KC has a crap line, no high tier receivers, hence Mahomes as the #10 qb in the league

  10. Bartow Buc Says:

Joe, I agree this really looks like another big win. The Bucs should control the ball on offense. With Irving, White, and Tucker, the run game should explode on Carolina and wear down their already worn down defense. Of course all the running will open up the Bucs explosive passing game.
If the Bucs defense (which is definitely improving in spite of what the glass half empty people say) can contain and pressure Young and shut down the Hubbard rush, the blow out you speak of will commence!!

    Go Bucs !!

  11. Mike Johnson Says:

I think you guys who think we are gonna clobber the Panthers might be in for a big SHOCK……They are not the Giants and have been ballin lately.

  12. Joeybucs40 Says:

I see Bucky And Rachaad going wild against the Panthers. Bucky especially looks like he’s starting to catch fire and things are slowing down for him. Also Calijah and Vita will have monster days for the defense. Don’t be surprised if Winfield decides to ball out too. Beat down coming for the Panthers.

I haven’t seen a report that Bowels has been fired so I see no reason to believe this could be an accurate prediction!

“… Joe saw a whole lot of loaf and quit from it Sunday in the Chiefs’ game-winning drive”. Do you mean like the loaf and quit from our Bucs D in KC’s last drive?

Thanks, Joe for this awesome fan site and your articles! I am 83 , legally blind and deaf but you just light up my life! My son and daughter and I are fans since 1976. You are the the best! I feel sorry for NFL fans who do not have a great writer and fan like you. Go Bucs!

Gee, thanks for the kind words. Glad Joe can help you through your day. Very humbling. Thank you.

  17. Show Me the TDs Says:

Yeah, that’s what you wrote about the Falcons and the Broncos. Do you ever learn from your mistakes?

  18. Kenton Smith Says:

Recently Joe wrote about what a good or great team does late in the season to an inferior team. Attributed to Gronkowski. About good teams placing a beat down on inferior teams and right after he wrote it, we put a proper beat down on the Giants. I would expect something similar this week at Carolina.

  19. MomBucsFan Says:

Thanks,,Joe for your kind words! Being positive about a team you love is fun and fun is healthy always! Actually there will be a good outcome either way the season turns out as we can use better picks in the draft and an easier schedule next year but Baker and the Bugs are destined to go to a super bowl sooner or later, I beelieve!
