Showing Vita Vea Love
November 26th, 2024Man, what got into Bucs defensive tackle Vita Vea on Sunday?
He looked like a whole different player the way he was manhandling large humans wearing blue jerseys in New Jersey.
Was it the week off to recharge his batteries? Was Vea perhaps not 100 percent and he just needed extra time to heal right?
Joe is beginning to think the way Calijah Kancey has started to dominate, offenses are blocking Vea differently because they have to account for Kancey, and Vea is taking advantage.
Whatever it is, it is working. Vea was a manbeast on Sunday. So much so that Kevin Patra of NFL.com had to give Vea a shoutout for his fun, dominant play.
Vita appreciation. In a blowout win, the big man deserves some love. Vita Vea controls everything up the middle, allowing linebackers to make plays, taking attention from other linemen, and bottling up the ground game. At one point, Vea obliterated John Michael Schmitz, pulverizing the Giants center for a sack. Vea earned four QB pressures, including two quick pressures. The massive man also lined up as a fullback twice during goal-line situations. During Tampa’s four-game losing streak, Todd Bowles’ defense missed far too many plays. Coming off the bye, they faced a good opponent to get back on track. If they’re to push back into playoff position with a light schedule down the stretch, the crew will have to play closer to Sunday’s performance than the previous four weeks.
If Vea (and Kancey) can keep up their strong play the next six weeks, the Bucs defense will be better. The best way to help a struggling pass defense is to have an ornery pass rush.
Oh, if the Bucs only had a decent edge rusher!
Kancey and Vea have been on a tear of late. In the past three games, the duo has accounted for seven sacks. That’s almost double what Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and YaYa Diaby have combined for the whole season! JTS and Diaby have two sacks each.
This is going to be fun watching Kancey and Vea play off each other and terrorize centers, guards and most of all, quarterbacks.

JTS= JUST TOO SOFT

If they make the playoffs good chance they’d face Philly’s offensive line. They are not the same team we played, neither are the Lions. We’ll see what we’re made of IF we even make the playoffs.

Didn’t JTS leave with an injury on Sunday ?

So Diaby and JTS are tied with people like Gholston, Brewer, Gaines and oh yeah, Logan Hall. 😢

Against an O Line that has contributed to a league low 163 points for the season?
Sure the look like Beasts.

I want the eagles…..

Yaya and Winfield are the 2 most disappointing Bucs this year. Braswell is a rookie, but man he’s been a complete ghost

I really expected YaYa to take a step this year, I guess Bowles wants him to play the run on 3rd and 10, or drop back in coverage.
BTW, with the Giants giving up on their season, because of their inept management, Licht needs to call the Giants and find some players that the Giants will give away for pennies on the dollar.

The genius move will be to drop Vita into the deep middle zone, to confuse Bryce Young. There is no underestimating the masturmind. Of course Canalwater has seen it before. He must be giddy thinking about how he’s going to have the coming out party for Bryce Young, who will have his best passing day ever.

If we don’t bring back Shaq, we are stupid.
He was still recovering from an injury his last year here.
