New Receiver, Another Injury Emerge

November 10th, 2024

Hurting.

So who’s the standout playmaker in the Bucs defense?

Some might argue it’s rookie Tykee Smith.

He’s got three forced fumbles and an interception through his last four games. And he had another forced fumble that was stolen from him by game officials. The Bucs’ third-round draft pick came back Monday night after missing a game with a concussion and lit up the stat sheet with 9 tackles a pass defensed and a forced fumble.

Well, Smith surprisingly landed on Friday’s injury report with a knee injury. Joe was told it’s not serious but it could affect him today.

Whatever it is, the timing stinks.

Safety Jordan Whitehead joined Smith as “limited” in practice Friday with a quad injury that he’s been dealing with all week.

Also intriguing is receiver Marquez Callaway getting another call-up for today’s game. Joe has to think that’s only because Jalen McMillan (hamstring) still isn’t ready.

Joe has avoided writing about Callaway since he joined the Bucs three weeks ago. Why? Callaway was a dangerous and productive member of the slimy Saints during the 2021 season. It’s difficult for Joe to handle a Saints player on the Bucs’ roster.

Callaway mostly was out of football last season and was cut this year in training camp by the Steelers and later by the Saints.

These guys are so soft they could probably get injured in their sleep.

The excuse machine is now loaded and ready for a reason the D will play another horrible game. PFFFFFFT

    This is not good

  6. Dave Pear Says:

I get injured in my sleep all the time. Shoulder, neck, foot. Sleeping is dangerous for an old guy.

Really disappointed in Kenny Bell meets Jalen Darden McMillan. After all the hype, what a bust.

  7. Pewter Power Says:

This defense doesn’t need excuses for bad play. We are a long way away from that 3-1 defense and If Sirvocea Dennis was the key to Todd Bowles entire defense then he should retire

  8. Cobraboy Says:

    Not good at all.

Look for Purdy to slice and dice the D like about every QB the last month or so has.

Bucs need a miracle or three. And they need to score on every possession.

The O is fun to watch, even crippled, but the D makes my eyes bleed…

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Panthers just 1 game behind Bucs in win column….how about that?

This is crazy, it’s kinda like Final Destination accept it’s injuries. Remember the beginning of the season when I said shhhh? I do. That bug was talked into an all out plague here. I’d call Hazmat but they won’t be able to help. I thought we were going to blaze a trail and there are so many things that didn’t sprout up. Mike is definitely missed and Chris, I don’t even know what words to use man.
