Jordan Whitehead Will Try To Play Through Injury

November 26th, 2024

MRI results are in.

While there were several reports yesterday that Jordan Whitehead’s injured pec would put him on the shelf for the season, Bucs coach Todd Bowles wouldn’t go there in his day-after presser.

Bowles said the team wanted to see the MRI results.

Well, those results are in. And Whitehead is going to try to play through the injury after sitting out an undisclosed amount of time, reports Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

@MikeGarafolo: Jordan Whitehead is going to miss time with a pec injury suffered Sunday, though there’s a chance he could return this season, sources say. It’ll depend on the healing and if TB makes a playoff run. But no surgery scheduled and not definitively out for the year.

Well that is good news, obviously. But man, talk about a guy willing to gut it out and play through some gnarly pain.

Joe is very impressed with Whitehead’s goal and desire, but how much would he be comprised playing basically with one wing?

wow…i’m starting to think the bucs believe the only team standing in their way in the nfc, to getting to the superbowl, is detroit…

    everyone else is beatable…

but it will be nearly impossible to knock off detroit twice in one season

Well if he’s gonna sir for a few weeks hogging a roster spot can we still do 4 week IR?

  4. Kieran Says:

Mike Edward’s can replace him and he’s 100%, Whitehead is damaged goods right now, LFG!!!

He knew something was wrong immediately. I was in that endzone when he ran right off the field. Hope he can make it back this year!

Iron man tough! I’d feel much better about him playing hurt if he was playing good football

    One tough hombre.

I hate that Whitehead is hurt and hope he gets back fast…..having said that, I think the dude has been lacking in effort during stretch’s. And a lack of intensity and focus/effort has been one of the biggest issues our D has faced.

We need to get Tykee back in nickel… Izien will play well, Edwards is still an unknown IMO (too new). Antoine needs to play like Antoine.

Tavierre Thomas will make an appearance in the secondary soon and probably shock us one way or another – lol. Not sure about his progress or ceiling but I Love that Guys energy = full speed/max effort every play!

Remember, he dislocated his shoulder in the GB playoff game with the hit against the RB with the big ass legs (I know his name and can’t think of it now). That hit popped the ball out and was a huge turnover! He played throughout the playoffs and SB with his shoulder in a brace…Then he had the surgery. Tough MF’r right there…Go Bucs!!

Thank God the NFLPA has forced teams to have these cupcake camps and practices – it’s really doing an amazing job of keeping players healthy.

I know right? Pansies trying to use information to keep players safer. Pftttt. Players still get hurt so that proves safety measures/precautions don’t work.

Let’s remove safety belts and airbags from cars while we’re at it. People still get hurt/killed in car accidents. Logical right? 🙄

That’s alright, he can sit and get healthy. Lol.

I’ll wait for playoffs for a return. Not in a need to rush him back.

Plus not gonna lie wanna see if Mike Edwards can remember to pickup where he left off. 🙂
