Calijah Kancey Showing Why He Was A High Draft Pick

November 24th, 2024

The Kancey Man can.

One guy jumped off the screen at Joe today. And that would be defensive tackle Calijah Kancey.

Kancey is known for his speed getting to quarterbacks. And goodness gracious he looked shot out of a cannon today chasing Giants quarterback Tommy Cutlets.

Kancey had a monster sack of Cutlets early and in the second half on a ferocious hit on Cutlets, it was as if a young Warren Sapp himself bolted past the Giants’ offensive line to splash the backup Giants signal-caller.

Later in the second half, Kancey exploded off the line and Joe thought he broke Cutlets in half in the end zone. Kancey didn’t get the sack but Cutlets will remember that hit for a while. Cutlets couldn’t get up right away and he had to leave the game just for a play as dummy Drew Lock came in.

Kancey is now on a four-game sack streak.

So yeah, after returning from a calf injury to get a late start to the season, Kancey a few weeks ago told Joe he was just getting in regular-season shape as his first couple of games were in essence his training camp.

The way Kancey is playing, he looks to be in fine form. And the Bucs need him to keep up his dangerous play.

    Kancey is nasty !

  2. Rod Munch Says:

Said it in the game day thread, but Kancey’s 17-game pace works out to a 14 sack season.

If he can just stay healthy, he’s going to be a super star.

  3. BucsFan81 Says:

Kitty cats trying to beat the chiefs.

  4. DBS Says:

    Really? Against the Giants?

  5. Pewter Power Says:

At least these dumb nutsacks haven’t been here calling him a bust because of injury. I’d says that’s progress

    ——–

    5 sacks in 6 games.

Those 6 games were not vs the Giants.

Kancey fun to watch wow when he gets free look out!

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Watching home teams lose these close games is hilarious. The Redskins go down on a missed XP — and why did the loser coach not go for 2 and the win?! What an idiot low-T coach.

Then the Panthers actually get back into the game, and like idiots, 1st and goal from the 1 with 2 mins left, and they don’t run the clock at all, scored way too fast. You can’t give the ball back to Mahomes with that much time, you run the clock… Figures the Panthers would start playing well right as we have to face them twice.

  10. Rod Munch Says:

Actually the Redskins on the onside kick, giving up the TD helps them since there is no way they’d get the ball back otherwise. Now the Redskins at least have a chance. What a fun ending to a game. I hope it comes down to being tackled at the 1 and all the stupid fans there are crying, I love that.

  11. DoooshLaRue Says:

Kancey is very good and I’m glad he had a great day.

However, we played the tanking Giants.

    Keep it real Bucs Fans

  12. 74 Bucs Fan Says:

It’s been 5 weeks since we’ve had a victory Monday. I’ll take it. Good game.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

DoooshLaRue – Dummy, the entire article is about the fact he’s had 4 games in a row with a sack, and 5 sacks in 6 games. They weren’t all against the Giants.

Why you in a bad mood? Because Tiki reminded you of Ronde, which reminded you of Chris Meyers and how much you miss him?

  14. FlumundaCheese Says:

Play 10 games per year and you’re a rockstar in Tampa.

  15. Zzbucs Says:

Funny……when the Bucs win is because of the players, when the Bucs do not win is on the coaches……
I said funny but it’s kind of sad…..

bi polar fans and not vey ineteresting journalism, just tabloid!!!!,

  16. Steven007 Says:

Some fans act like we can’t celebrate anything about a dominant win. A good player does well? Well it was against the Giants so…. Come on guys. We could be crying after a devastating loss. Not saying we have to bow down to these guys, but why piss in our beer?

  17. ModHairKen Says:

Bowles had them ready. Needs to be said.

  18. Rod Munch Says:

If you use the ESPN Playoff Machine – predict wins based off winning percentage for the rest of the season – and the Bucs would beat out the Falcons to win the NFC South as the Falcons have a much more difficult schedule than the Bucs. (The Bucs lose to Chargers, win out otherwise).

I manually gave the Falcons a win vs the Redskins, who are on the decline at the moment, and that flipped it so the Falcons get the NFC South title, but even with that, the Bucs are the 7th seed.

So the Bucs are still in good shape for the playoffs if they do their part and win. They can only afford one loss though.

    —————————-
Rod, the Washington team is now the Commanders. Why that ahole Snyder didn’t let the DC fans rename the team is one reason why he is gone. The team would have made a bundle in PR and support if the fans had been allowed to rename the team. Commanders is beyond stupid.

  20. Rod Munch Says:

    orlbucfan – They’re the Redskins.

  21. Rod Munch Says:

Update – on the NFL playoff machine… please let this happen…

If the Bucs did NOT win the NFC South, and were the 7th seed, the most likely match-up at the moment would be…

    The Eagles.

    Oh my.

  22. Rod Munch Says:

The most likely match-up’s I keep seeing are…

If Bucs are #4 seed, it’s the Vikings or Lions.

At #7, the most likely opponent are the Eagles.

There’s some less likely scenarios where the Bucs could get as high as the #3 seed, in that scenario the most likely opponent would be the Falcons.

In any case, if the Bucs only lose one game for the rest of the season, they’re almost certainly in.

  23. #99 the big fella Says:

People bit*h if we win .. Bipolar fans for sure

  24. orlbucfan Says:

Rod, I just looked it up. They are the Commanders. I was born in DC. My father was a huge Giants and Redskins fan. That is how I became a NFL fan.

  25. Rod Munch Says:

orlbucfan – Never heard of them.

  26. MadMax Says:

Gj CJ!!! A lot left though….beast mode needs to be on for the rest of the season

  27. MadMax Says:

Never heard of who? Washington or the Giants?

  29. Gipper Says:

Where did all fire Bowles bloggers go? If Bucs finish 10-7 and get to playoffs, he’ll get a contract extension.

  30. Anyhony Says:

If you can’t enjoy a win ,……..You must enjoy being a LOSER!!!

  31. Pelsbuc61 Says:

It only takes Kancey 11 games into the season to get in good form against a putrid team. I’ll be impressed when he plays good over a full season.

  32. Kenton Smith Says:

No reason to think we’ll lose another regular season game. The Panthers beat this Giants team by 3 2 weeks ago. So what they played KC close today. Everyone plays KC close this year. We didn’t have our receivers. Now we have a hall of famer back. We’re getting more injured players back next week. However we make it into the playoffs won’t matter whether wild card or conference champs because Baker Mayfield is the best QB in the NFC. Meaning once we’re in the playoffs we’ve got a real chance. Now the other 4 or5 elite NFL QBs are in the AFC. We will have our work cut out for us in the Super Bowl. But as they say “any given Sunday”.

  33. FlumundaCheese Says:

Bucs fans are slapping each other on the back over a possible 10-7. Literally, that’s the definition of what sucks about this market and fans.

  34. adam from ny Says:

    yep…kancy and vita were like:

“we don’t need edge guys, we got this”

  35. Kenton Smith Says:

Oh. Article was about Kancey. Holy Shi….! That’s all I have to say about that.
