Buccaneers 30, Giants 7

November 24th, 2024

It’s a blowout!

Joe is fired up. Today the Bucs did what good teams do. They crushed a weaker opponent.

The Giants put up no resistance and the Bucs came out sharp, scoring on the opening possession and jumping out to a 23-0 halftime lead.

Mike Evans looked fresh and had 4 catches for 53 yards in the first half in his return from a significant hamstring injury. He finished with 5 catches for 68 yards. In the opening 30 minutes, Evans was surpassed by only Bucky Irving, whose 6 catches on 6 targets for 64 yards led the way.

Obviously, the Giants (2-9) stink and were rolling with a third-string quarterback, but Joe has to give the Bucs defense credit. The blitzes got home. Vita Vea was a menace on mutliple occasions. There were big stops in the run defense and the defense had a huge hand in putting the game away before halftime.

Did having Zyon McCollum and Jamel Dean starting together again help? It sure didn’t hurt. Joe hopes each guy came out healthy and ready for the stretch run.

Baker Mayfield was sharp and delivered a sweet display of hustle to block downfield for Bucky Irving on his huge 56-yard run in the fourth quarter (video below).

Our beloved Bucs are now 5-6, one game behind the Falcons. Hope has been restored.

That’s on Baker Mayfield. It’s stupid on his part. He sure ain’t thinking about the team. Let Trask finish the game. He can do it cos he’s hurt.

    (1:15 – 4th) (Shotgun) R.White left guard to NYG 30 for no gain (B.Burns; M.McFadden

Why???? Come on. White is lousy.

Me too Munch. Should have gone for a score with over 7 minutes left

The Joes own/run this site. They can do whatever they want. I remember years like 1983 when the Bucs finished 2-14. It went on that way for at least 10 more years.

  10. BuccoDav Says:

    WTF was that?

  11. Chad Says:

Orlbucfan, you calling baker stupid is what I feel like a hating statement, it was a stinger, nothing serious, if it was worse I’m sure you would’ve got to see your baby boy trask in. Baker ain’t coming out, he’s to much of a dog, and got to much fire to come out

  12. orlbucfan Says:

Coen still hasn’t opened up this offense like I keep hoping. He needs to get in Mayfield’s face over not sitting after that stinger.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

“It’s not my job to stop my team from scoring. It’s your job. If you don’t want to be scored on, do something to stop it.” – Steve Spurrier

    He didn’t have Tiny Balls.

  14. Rod Munch Says:

orlbucfan – they only scored 30 points, and could have had more – that’s open enough. Also, unless you want Baker to get killed, you’re not having him holding the ball with Sucke as your starting LT.

You are the idiot. I could care less about who is the QB. I want the team to win. I am a long time Bucs fan. Are you? You don’t write like it.

  16. orlbucfan Says:

Rod, I don’t get it. The Giants are pathetic. Baker got hurt again. The Bucs were running away with the game by then. Yes, a stinger is minor, but he’s banged up cos that’s how it is by this time in the season. He could sit and rest. Trask isn’t a threat to him, so what’s the deal?

  17. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

At least Baker didn’t take any more hits when he went back in. That’s all I was worried about.

    All’s well that ends well!

  18. orlbucfan Says:

This is starting to look like last season. What is the Detroit Lions’ record now? They have only lost 1 game? I’m asking cos that was a solid Bucs effort and win.

  19. Mike Johnson Says:

A Win is a Win. But don’t get to excited guys. It was against the hopeless Giants.

Orlbucfan, if you just want the team to win you will quit whining about baker staying in the game, the game was over at that point regardless who played qb

    ——–

Stingers are just stingers, they’re not a real injury, they literally have no impact.

Also once he went out, all they did was run it up the middle – I’m pretty sure they didn’t even attempt a pass.

I have zero issues with it.

Carolina gave KC all they could handle. The game in Carolina will be no pushover.

    ———-

Very worrisome for sure since the Bucs have to face them twice.

With that said, KC has been playing down to opponents all season – it’s really amazing how they keep pulling out wins, it’s why Mahomes is the best QB in the business right now, regardless of stats.

  25. Tbbucs3 Says:

Soft a** fan base thinks Mayfield and the coaches should just pull every starter just cause they have a lead in the 4th quarter, smh 🤦

  26. Scotty Mack Says:

Pay attention to the game, Baker haters. Yes, Mayfield came back into the game to hand off the ball six times (no passes). Not too risky!

  27. Tbbucs3 Says:

But to be fair, I think thats just the gator portion of the fanbase wanting to see their mancrush Kyle Trask handoff the ball off a few times

  28. Scotty Mack Says:

Oh, and baker was only hit two times the entire game with only two total pressures. Seems like “Sucke as [their] starting LT” didn’t suck at all!

The offense is literally about getting the ball out quickly and not holding the ball.

It’s remarkable how many stupid people have no idea what they’re watching. It’s the same people who think Sean Tucker is a good NFL RB.

    Did you read my comment?

  32. SenileSenior Says:

I kinda wanted us to pull some of our starters ((Baker included) when there was less than 4 minutes to go. Players want to play, though, let them have some fun.

No need for fans to insult other fans.

Love my Bucs win or lose! Go Bucs!!

  33. Scotty Mack Says:

Munch said; “The offense is literally about getting the ball out quickly and not holding the ball.”

Uhm … yeah. Not sure what your point is at all. Mine was about it not being any risk putting Baker back in. Yours seems to be stating the obvious … you know, the same exact offensive mindset that Tom Brady used to win a whole bunch of Superbowls.

  34. adam from ny Says:

…as bucs fans in the crowd loudly chanted “bucky bucky bucky”

  35. Rod Munch Says:

Scotty Mack – Coen didn’t take into account how awful Sucke was and ran the normal offense in Detroit, and vs the Broncos, and Sucke nearly got Baker killed. In the Eagles game, Coen changed things up completely, and we’ve seen the results since then. If Wirfs was out there today, I think they take some more deep shots, but with Sucke out there – you’re just going to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible. A good coach changes based on the players on the field – and hides their weaknesses, and Coen did that. It doesn’t, however, mean Sucke isn’t a trash player who should be on the unemployment line.
