Bad Break For Raiders; Good Break For Bucs

November 25th, 2024

Joe’s not here to cheer injuries, but damn, yesterday’s injury news for Bucs fans was about as mouth-watering as Dak Precott’s popped hamstring this month.

In four weeks, the Bucs play the soft Cowboys without Prescott, courtesy of that injury. In three weeks, Tampa Bay will face the Raiders minus starting quarterback Gardner Minshew.

Minshew broke his collarbone Sunday and is out for the remainder of the season.

Bucs fans remember veteran Minshew. He made the Bucs defense look bad last November when he started for the Colts.

Dismal Desmond Ridder is the Raiders’ backup and likely starter — for now. There’s been a little buzz that the Raiders may try to take a long sniff of booted Giants starter Daniel Jones.

So the Bucs’ final six games may include facing Ridder, Cooper Rush (Cowboys), Derek Carr and the bumbling Panthers and Bryce Young twice. That’s in addition to a trip to Los Angeles to face Justin Herbert.

If it really is a quarterback league, the Bucs have rather smooth path to a winning record.

Copper Rush can pass they just beat the Skins…. ATL plays the Radiers with there old QB

  2. GoneGator Says:

I’m not counting out any of our opponents…. any given Sunday.
I’m also not assuming the Chargers will be our toughest remaining game. We might spank them and lose to the Raiders. Shlt happens.

1 game at a time. Keep improving. We have a better team than we had last year when we made the run, and a weaker schedule.

  3. gbobucsfan Says:

I read that O’Connell is supposed to be back for their game this week.

  4. drdneastup Says:

Don’t look at the Panthers as being the witttle puddy cats they were at the beginning of the season. They won two straight and were about to make it three against the Chiefs yesterday if not for the tired old late game heroics of Mahomes.

  5. Bojim Says:

Raiders will get a good draft pick. Why Jones? Too late now.

  6. Bucsfan81 Says:

We should win rest of our games except for the Chargers. Atlanta going to get blown out again next weekend against the chargers.

  7. JBBUCS_06 Says:

We beat the Giants. Whoopedydoo. Panthers will be tougher. We need to worry about us AND BRING IT EACH WEEK.

  8. First Name Greatest Says:

Joe is forgetting about Todd Blows Cover Who Zone Defense making passing the ball easy for opponents

Ridder shredded this defense in 2023
Cooper Rush and Cee Dee will shred the pass defense
Bryce Young is looking competent and will have a career day against this pass d as well

ZERO confidence in Todd or this D

  9. zzbucs Says:

We need to think ONLY in Carolina, thinking ahead is stupid

  10. Dave Pear Says:

Ridder smoked Barnum and Bailey twice last year. Cooper Rush is more than capable of making B&B look like they’re playing frisbee than football. Jim Plunkett could be wheeled out there and throw for 300 yards and 3TDs.

  11. Dave Pear Says:

First Name once again telling it like it needs to be told. I said similar that dissolved into Algo Rhythm’s penalty box.

  12. Lt. Dan Says:

God forbid if Baker Mayfield get’s injured. I mean realistically I could see a scenario where he extends to make a hand off, the ball is fumbled and Baker collides with an offense lineman, hurts his neck, goes into the tent and then back into a game that is already won because Trask is unable to hand the ball off. I mean really, that could happen.

  13. Winny Testaverde Says:

Bo Nix was supposed to be a pushover also. This may yet again manifest the JoeJinx ™️…where looking too far ahead with false bravado…which rarely, if ever ends well. I understand the excitement after the 1st win in over a month. and that this glorious site is for entertainment purposes only…but say it ain’t so, Joe!

  14. David Kilmer Says:

I would not take anyone lightly!!!. Remember division games are tough. Yes Car is gaining confidence and so is the young qb. The Bucs have lost to some pathetic qb’s in the past. Derek Carr and the Saints are playing better too.
Don’t be surprised if the Bucs split those division games. Please remember we beat the Giiants yesterday with their 3 string qb.
It was great and beating them convincingly was great!!. however, that was 1 Game. I will guarantee you are going to see a hungry pumped up team in Car Sunday. I think we should do what the Bucs do, and go 1 game at a time and take no one lightly .

  15. Saskbucs Says:

Carolina will be up for us but that close loss to the Chiefs could also take some wind outta their sails. Hopefully Bucs aren’t riding too high this week but they know they have to win out. If I thought Panthers D could stop our offense I would be worried, as it is, I think we dominate again.

  16. Panhandle Buc Says:

Not taking any team lightly, especially a division rival!!

  17. Aceofaerospace Says:

How many of those games will toilet bowels lose for us?

  18. ReturnGrudenToRing Says:

Lets not forget that our so called “Defensive Guru” has the 4th worst defense in the league.

  19. adam from ny Says:

i’m starting to think the panthers are due for a let down or bump in the road…

they’ve been simply doing too well of late…

it’s time for davey cantaloupe’s panthers to play like honey dews…

yes b!tch azz honey dews 🙂

i’m thinking we blow them out in their home stadium this weekend …

baker will be hungry to defeat his old team and old OC…

i think we shut down chubba hubbard, and bryce young can not carry them at all…

    blowout……………30-10 or 30-13

  20. Winny Testaverde Says:

I typically like Adam of NY’s takes and humor…and the fact he knew Tommy Devito in high school…but I fear the Panthers and “Can-do” Canales may have some insider intel and may see the Bucs game as their SB. It’ll be puckerish.

  21. Dave Pear Says:

Aceofaerospace – Harbaugh would beat even a decent HC so I won’t pin that one on The Coich.

So, Coich will lose 5 of the remaining 6 by himself. The 2nd half against the Ginats with fumbles, slop and Cover Who will be the norm .

  22. Aaron Says:

division games can get weird – 1 game at a time.

    Go Bucs!

  23. Jerseybuc Says:

We just gotta cash the checks.

  24. Bartow Buc Says:

Joe, the Bucs should win out 11-6 if the defense continues to play well !! Repeat we will need the defense to play well !!

    Go Bucs !!

  25. DBS Says:

Who would know Bowles defense better than Canales? Don’t take this Panthers game lightly at all. It was nice to win against a garbage Giants offense. That doesn’t prove our defense is better than the Bye. They started letting the Giants March down the field in the 3rd quarter as they do to all teams.

  26. Bartow Buc Says:

Joe, if the Bucs beat the Chargers on 12/15, watch out it’s Katy bar the door !! Chargers may be the best team in the league right now !!

    Go Bucs !!! LG !!!

  27. ATLBUC Says:

Backup QBs have had a tendency to eat our defense alive!!

  28. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Backup QBs used to beat us…that has mostly changed now.

I’m not going to rejoice in injuries on other teams…wecame close to Mayfield getting injured last Sunday. We got lucky

  29. Sacker58 Says:

Joe,every time you boast how easy it’s going to be to a win, division crown, etc.we take it in the shorts ,really!

  30. Woodenman Says:

Everybody on here talking about teams we should beat . That is people on here. The Bucs can’t and won’t think like that. One game at a time.. Go Bucs

  31. Larrd Says:

Hopefully Wirfs back soon and OL continues to improve and dominates. A YaYa Diaby breakout would be good, too.

  32. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

With Whitehead hurt, Bowles is forced to start a different safety. Hopefully, that will be Izien. He’s playing well. Maybe Smith will be back, too. We need his tackling.

  33. Vinny from NYC Says:

    Well said Woodenman.

  34. John Says:

Raiders actual starting QB is coming off IR, so this is a non issue. Minshew was benched and replaced with O’Connell. He could be a fly in the ointment to the Bucs, you can’t ever count on winning just because a current starting QB gets hurt, sometimes the backup is better in different ways
