YaYa Diaby: If Bucs Do Their Job, They Should Eat A “W”

October 3rd, 2024

Inspiration from Al Davis?

So this week in the Bucs’ locker room, YaYa Diaby was channeling a legendary NFL figure.

And that would be Al Davis, the late Raiders owner who died in 2011.

No, he wasn’t channeling Bill Belicheat or Bill Parcells but Davis — the originator of “Do your job.”

The second-year edge rusher believes the Dixie Chicks can burn the Bucs defense in so many ways. That’s what he mentioned to Joe this week. However, the task for each player is simple, Diaby said.

“For us, we have to go in there with a mindset of doing our job,” Diaby said.

So what is that? Well, Diaby said making sure all of Atlanta’s offensive weapons are defended properly.

“They have a lot of guys that can make plays for them,” Diaby said. “They have [Drake] London, [Bijan] Robinson, now [Darnell] Mooney is getting involved.

“And can’t forget about Kyle Pitts.”

Diaby is right, though Pitts is off to arguably his worst start and he was held catchless Sunday against New Orleans.

Diaby agreed with Joe that one reason Atlanta can hit a defense so many different ways is because they feature a more diverse offense.

“They are using different players more this year,” Diaby said. “That’s what we see.”

Still, Diaby thinks if the Bucs can carry out Al Davis’ order to Bill Parcells, everything will fall into place for the Bucs.

“If we can take care of those guys and slow them down, we will have a great game,” Diaby said.

Yeah, 4-1 would sure feel good.

    Mike Tyson once said….
“Everyone has a good game plan” until they get knocked the F out

    Actions speak louder than words
Just get out on the field and go to work

  2. BillyBucco Says:

Ummmm Pitts is off to his worst start of his young career.
He literally had NO CATCHES last game.
In fact, Atlanta fans are furious that he hasn’t been involved.
He has 105 yds total and 50 of those came on 1 play.
He does usually have a good game against Tampa though.
And with Dennis out, I think the team will have to play more Dime Defense.

  3. Capt Kidd Says:

Actually, Pitts is off to a slow start. They were just talking this morning on XM radio about how he seems off this year.

  4. A Bucs Fan Says:

Don’t forget about Allgeier… their real starting RB.

  5. Beeej Says:

I had Pitts as my fantasy tight end, finally had to dump him

  6. JD Still Says:

“Ya Ya Diaby :If Bucs Do Their Job, They Should Eat a “W”” …………..”If”.

  7. John Sinclear Says:

Also seems to be channeling “Fameis Jameis” with the “eat a W” line!

  8. orlbucfan Says:

    ???? Hope so.

  9. Hodad Says:

If YaYa’s job is to get sacks, tonight, do your job!

  10. David Says:

Win the battle of the trenches on both sides of the ball and they will
    be 4-1!

    LFG

  11. Dave Pear Says:

Algier impressed me a lot against the Saints. Bijon is great, too, but banged up. Algier could go off. Especially with clay feet Britt out there lumbering around

  12. BucU Says:

5 starters out. Next man up only takes you so far. Very admirable what they pulled off last week with alot of backups but is it sustainable? I sure hope so but I wouldn’t wanna bet on it.

“Channeling a legendary figure” after the headline including “eat a W” scared the beejesus out of me.

I thought perhaps Joe was just snarking with us about JW until I read the story and realized he was talking about a TRUE legend.

Sorry but “eating Ws” has left a horrible taste in my mind that evokes groping Uber drivers, throwing ints in BUNCHES and ending his Buc’s career with a truly fitting capstone. Thowing a PICK SIX 7 seconds into OT against tonight’s opponent the Falcons letting them come from behind at RAYJAY and leading to one of JW’s most ignominious comments EVER!!!

Right after CHOKING the season away Fameis says…F her in the p…ooops that was earlier at FSU…he said after that game…”You better check yo sheet”.

Jameis had talent from the neck down, up top he is truly a cement head!!!
Mix in a serious lack of character and you have a really horrible drafting error.

  14. Defense Rules Says:

BucU … Bucs have several guys out, but we’ve still got plenty of weapons on offense & our defense looked much better with Vea back in there. We play sooo much better when our offense starts fast, and I think we’re learning how to do that.

Falcons have only scored 4 passing TDs & 1 rushing TD in 4 games (plus kicked 9 FGs). They do seem to be quite opportunistic though, having scored 1 TD from a fumble return & another TD from a Pick 6. Bucs have been doing pretty good at avoiding mistakes (2 INTs & 1 Fumble) & hopefully that continues. It’ll be a dogfight IMO, but if last week’s team shows up, we can win this.

    26-17 BUCS

  16. unbelievable Says:

The fact that Pitts didn’t have a catch last week means they will focus on getting him the ball tonight.

Really wish Winfield was back in the lineup.

  17. infomeplease Says:

The Bucs can win! If they play like they did last week, they will! If they play like they did in Denver, they will lose. If they play somewhere in between, it’s anyone’s game! I’m hopeful! Should be a great game!

  18. unbelievable Says:

Told ya’ll they’d target Pitts right away.
