Run Game Praise For Logan Hall

October 30th, 2024

Two good things Joe can say about Bucs defensive lineman Logan Hall is that he’s far more valuable than Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and he’s improving.

Yes, there’s more. At 24 years old, Hall is developing and Joe isn’t ready to throw in the towel. That doesn’t mean Hall is a special player, but Joe is seeing a different player on film this season.

The Bucs’ 2022 second-round draft pick also is the co-leader in sacks for the sorry Bucs defense with three, and he ranks second on the team in quarterback hits. Hey, that’s something worthy of attention.

Per Todd Bowles on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Hall deserved praise for his work against the Falcons on Sunday.

“I thought Logan, from a run-game standpoint, I thought he played very well. He got better in that aspect of it,” Bowles said. “He needs a little bit more in the pass game from time to time.”

It’s a big second-half of the season upcoming for Hall. If he’s every going to raise his game to a new level, this is the time.

    Trade for a Pass rusher!!!

It’s pretty much been proven that we have some of the worst fans in the league. They all wanted Hall cut after one or two seasons… the dude was an early 2nd round pick for a reason… he needed time to develop… but our fans… if they aren’t all world by season one, they are a wasted pick. They’ve said the same thing about Luke Goedeke, Alex Cappa, Ronald Jones, and pretty much any player that didn’t come in right away and dominate.

    Can he get bigger?

  4. MelvinJunior Says:

I agree. You can’t have an All-Pro at every position. He seems mostly competent and is slowly improving. Not everyone just hits the ground running, especially in THIS League.

  5. MelvinJunior Says:

“Brandon” – yeah, some of these people yelling “CUT HIM,” as if they have tourette’s or something, after their brand new 2nd Round Pick plays in his 4th game. It’s insanity. Mind-blowing. Same as “FIRE HIM” (the coach) after losing the 2nd Game of the season, Etc. Or, sign Mike Williams NOW, like “HE” is really gonna make a difference, or put us over the top!!!!

Sorry Joe, Hall needs to make a big move up to improve. Another mediocre play whose mediocrity has been deemed acceptable for a mediocre team. All hail mediocrity and underachievers.

  7. Tye Says:

The Bucs REALLY need to end EVER wearing the dreadful, cursed uniforms!

    bury those creamsicles.

You may love your dog but when it dies, you bury it, you don’t play with dead dogs.

  10. Jmarkbuc Says:

A meatloaf sandwich is more valuable than Jane Tryon Shoyinka

  11. Beeej Says:

I see the creamsicles and it brings up horrible memories like Jack Thompson and Ike Hagins

  12. Lt. Dan Says:

Nah – I disagree. The Creamsicles are friggin awesome!

  13. A Bucs Fan Says:

Hall was over drafted by two rounds due to position need. His absolute ceiling is to be the next William Gholston. Still has quite a ways to go before that too.

  14. Permanently Moderated Says:

Logan Hall’s biggest contribution remains ending Ryan Jensen’s career.

  15. bucsfan951 Says:

I would describe Logan Hall as the second round version of William Gholston, who was drafted in the fourth round.

  16. Rod Munch Says:

Teams are passing for 500-yards because everyone is wide open – so they’re not even bothering to run … and Bowles points out the steller run defense. LOL!

Nothing against Hall, he’s fine for what he is. Most fans are way too stupid to actually know what his job is, all they do is look at the stats and then go “he sucks”, but of course, the fans are idiots that have no idea what they’re watching.

  17. Hodad Says:

Hall should be a defensive end in a 4-3 defense. You want sacks? Let Hall rush as a hand in the dirt defensive end. He has the power that YaYa, and JTS don’t. Those two can’t get by tackles, Hall can go through them.

  18. KnoxvilleBuc Says:

Hall has had a solid season so far. He’s playing bigger with leverage and using his hands so much better. Not sure if he’s playing to his draft status yet but he’s certainly on the trajectory to become that level of player.
