Former Bucs quarterback Dan Orlovsky along with “Good Morning Football” refugee Jason McCourty and former NFL receiver Andrew Hawkins did a huge video breakdown of the Bucs offense, specifically Evans and Godwin.
While Orlovsky gives a lot of credit to Bucs offensive coordinator Liam Coen, Orlovsky said Evans and Godwin are playing superior ball.
Yes, Evans’ numbers are down big time but all three analysts said defenses are scared to death of Evans and play defense accordingly.
McCourty, a former Belicheats defensive back, explained what the slimy Saints were trying to do defensively to stop Evans and Godwin and why it doesn’t work. McCourty uses the dreaded word “communication” but at least he shows and tells what he means by that.
Basically, McCourty believes on one big Bucs play, Honey Badger (Tyrann Mathieu) was hung out to dry over poor communication.
Orlovsky explains and details how well schemed Coen has some pass plays — to the point their are really difficult to defend short of dropping seven guys.
Hawkins explains one reason for Baker Mayfield’s improved passing is defenses are so scared of Evans and Godwin, Mayfield has easy layups for throws.
“The fear of Chris Godwin and Mike Evans gives Baker Mayfield clear pitches,” Hawkins said. “You will see that every time.”

ME13 (future HOFamer) and CG14 (should be future HOFamer) are also good buddies off the field. That simple fact certainly helps with their communication. I sure hope ME13 is careful with that hammy. C’mon, Bucs!! Win this one for our hurricane ravaged Buc World!

Hard to believe there’s a QB in the NFL who wouldn’t want to throw to those two.
They even made Jameis look good at times, and Brady even better. Had they been on New England Brady would’ve never left, won more Super Bowls, and Belichick would still be employed.
I’ve even learned to overcome my frustration at Evans’s occasional drops because of his desire to never quit and make a great catch on the next play.
We are lucky to have them both!!!

And now coupled with a duo/trio at RB that can run and catch? Yes please.
If the o-line can hold up, we should be able to put up points on anyone when healthy.

Well being that no 3rd or 4th receiver has shown any propensity to take over the position and be a dependable player on the chessboard, simply shut down our 1 & 2 and force us to beat them with our running attack and other receivers. A recipe for our success
